It's a fair question. I'd keep him. If he had come though our youth ranks then we would be happy to let him develop in the u23s. He has more potential than nuttall who I believe has hit his ceiling so on that basis I'd keep him. On the flip side if he had come through the youth ranks and he was released I can't see many losing much sleep

Butterworth is better than nuttall, plus we have Armstrong, brereton, graham and hopefully someone new. He's had his chance , isn't good enough or needed. Buckley needs promoting to the first team picture at the expense of Smallwood and hopefully someone can come in and replace Evans. All of this depends on the budget, if Tony wants to spend it and if he has scouted and got players in mind. It's a massive Job and one that needs to start in defence. This isn't going to be fixed in two windows. It's a big job and It's going to have to be done in stages over a couple of windows. Mowbray has a addressed this on the past which is why so many feel January was a wasted opportunity. It wasnt about a promotion push for me, I new that was never possible, it was about the re build. Tony will be here in summer so all I can do is hope he has a few aces up his sleeve.

Those who still back tony are citing his long term plan and that takes time. I totally understand that view point. The reason he has lost my backing is for the very same reason. This isn't a knee jerk reaction to a bad run. In mowbray we trust, well sorry but I just don't trust him long term to deliver for reasons said many times. He is in no man's land at the minute because only time will tell if he can successfully deliver his plans. It really is down to in mowbray we trust and it pains me to say it but I just don't trust him to deliver what he intends to achieve but let's get one thing straight, This isn't a knee jerk reaction to bad results. Them two definitely need some minutes now where safe Davenport , Chapman and brereton also. I would sell/release nuttall at the end of the season. He's had his chance and never really took it and ultimate isn't what we need going forward. The rest of the above mentioned need to play so we no exactly where the summer budget needs spending after we sort the defense and keeper situation. I'd love Butterworth to step up then and take nuttals place and Buckley to do well enough to send Smallwood down the Paul downing route. I really believe Buckley could be ready for our bench come August. Real talent
