  1. Classic Rovers that this still isn't announced days after it became public knowledge
  2. 1. We wont sign an ambitious, modern DoF - we will get someone who says 'yes sir' to Waggott, just like Eustace 2. Not sure I would trust Eustace to either identify talent properly or do a decent job convincing anyone to join rovers. If he thinks out lot have been 'fantastic' since he came in, his standards may be lower than ours 2. With both JDT and Broughton leaving our knowledge of the international/European markets probably also leaves. We will go back to the TM/Waggott policy of domestic crap only Where can I buy my season ticket?!!
  3. I would argue Tosin, Reed and Van Hecke were all very good loans. (Granted TM played Reed out of position in favor of Richie Smallwood.....)
  4. It is just sad. Past anger with this lot in charge now. Likely should have known better, but when Broughton and JDT arrived in the summer of 2022 it seemed like a fresh, ambitious start. All the talk was about growth and getting to the premier league. It sounded like lessons had been learned and structures, processes and people put in place to progress the club. We then had the best season since relegation, including two great cup runs. JDT was the best manager we have had in years - ambitious, driven and demanding high standards. Broughton probably was out of his depth, but he seemed honest and with good intentions. When last could we say that about people at the club? Certainly can't now. Fast forward two years and there is no argument we are worse off. Waggott (can barely bring myself to mention his name my loathing for that man is so high) is back in total control. Venkys are still here, none of us know why. The club is celebrating staying in the league. A 37 year old McFadzean signing a new deal (after release from the mighty....Coventry) is marquee. Another mediocre, journeyman manager in charge. Declining attendances, Ewood left to ruin and no announcement on season tickets. Our best talent for a generation flogged prematurely to keep the lights on. The club in its current state don't deserve the fans. It is clear, to me at least, the club is being run in spite of and not for us. It is rotten.
  5. Confirms what I have suspected... - JDT was a tactical master with extremely high standards. Certain way of playing. Speaks of him very highly - says he is the better manager. Some players hated it. - Eustace is more of a 'players' manager, came in and gave them days off. Loves motivational videos and team talks. Players have it easier 100% - Not exactly committing to the club, said would jump at a premier league move (and who could blame him)
  6. ‘Adam Wharton’s Champions League level’ – meet England’s next midfielder Wonderful to see how well Adam is doing. Delighted for him. Such a shame this wasn't with Rovers and I'm not sure we will see such a talent again for a long long time. Him going was inevitable but I think he was sold cheap. Odds on us not having a sell on clause....?
  7. Absolutely. I think we will stay up this season due to results from below us, not through our own actions. We all know there will be zero investment in the summer and Szmodics will be sold, leaving us even worse than this year. And that is without a decent half season under JDT. Roll up to buy your season tickets folks!!
  8. His decision to sell Sheff Wed 7,000 tickets last week was staggering. What other club in our position would do that? Time after time clear as day examples of what his remit is.....financial over any sort of footballing success. He couldn't give a toss about the club or more importantly the fans. Utter contempt. The season ticket sales this summer will be pitiful but no doubt he will find an excuse. I cannot stand him.
  9. Brilliant Rovers! While since I’ve said that Dack on - feels strange. I would give Telalovic a run
  10. ‘Eustace not interested in other teams…’ Seems he isn’t interested in a few things…….excuses, the league table, other teams, points, or perhaps most importantly winning games. Mediocrity perhaps.
  11. What does he do have to do to get a game?! Has anyone seen him play live? Genuinely a lesser option than Crisene or Hedges?
  12. Glad we had all that ‘time on the grass’. We are actually worse. Wharton can complain about how bad life was under JDT as though he is Baresi MKII….he is a shocking player.
  13. What do we think we will get for him this summer (assuming we stay up) and what would people be happy with? I think: £5/6m I'd be happy with: £10m+ based on his impact this season which we know we wont replace
  14. He is a person out of depth operating in an environment he can't control. I don't think he is a bad person, unlike Waggot and Pasha. He's simply ineffective. Of all the interviews, Bayes was the best.
  15. Poor from Wharton to come out publicly criticizing JDT. Let's not re-write history Scott....you were crap for a season and haven't pulled up trees this year. JDT set high standards and took no prisoners, likely having played at the highest level with world class players. How many of our squad will get anywhere close to his achievements in the game? JDT was never going to work at Rovers under this setup and owners. His standards were too high and we were never going to have the players with the ability or character to play how he wanted. He had thrown in the towel from Jan onwards. I think the players will like Eustace and come out saying he is great as they have an easier ride - doing what they've done before and with a coach who settles for less.
  16. I don't think we will see him play for Rovers again. A shame as he looked a world beater early season, saw at QPR and he was majestic. Like the rest of the team, crap since. At least we might get a fee for him as he signed that new deal.
  17. Buy out bidder - Dan Williams Interview Doing some googling and found this....I wonder what might have been. It looks like this got fairly serious at one stage. Anyone know what happened?
  18. As an alternative….the interviewer from ‘Training Ground Guru’ with no affiliation to Rovers could have chosen not to ask any questions on contentious subjects. He did. Guess it’s how you perceive it.
  19. - McGuire..........doesn't say why we the permanent transfer got cancelled. We know Gregg. They were 'disappointed not to get it over the line'. Down the human error. He seems miffed and blaming the 'directors'. - Big difference to the O'brien fiasco....he doesn't take accountability for the McGuire farce. - He mentions JDT plenty of times - clearly not over that or anything to do with him going. Said he chose JDT when he came in. - Says 'things came to a head' with JDT in Dec/Jan and a change was inevitable (I reckon he knew about the Sweden thing). Does NOT say he chose Eustace. Did claim Kidderminster were the 'Barcelona of non-league football.... - Says he has no idea what the transfer budget or wage budget is, unlike in 2022 the first window. - Ben Rosen found Szmodics apparently. Good job he has left then... - Says it was Wharton's agent and Adam that pushed for the move once Crystal Palace came in. States Rovers wanted to keep him until the end of the season. - Swerves the question on reinvesting the Wharton money. Read....we aren't going to see any. Talks about investing it across the '4 key areas of the club'. Recommended it gets spent over the 'long term'. States the summer investment won't be affected. - Goes on again about young players and style of play. - Suhail is gatekeeper to the owners. The guy interviewing him did a good job. Didnt give him an easy ride. Oh my.....we are a mess.
  20. New Broughton interview on YouTube…note it isn’t with or by the club. Broughton Interview - International break I reckon he’s off.
  21. I haven’t seen anything positive at all on the various channels. The tide may finally have turned.
  22. Club statement (18.03.24) | rovers.co.uk The fun goes on....how depressing.
