  1. Mowbray in June said 'You want to strengthen before you lose any players and other clubs are saying the same.' Yet one month later he let Raya go before he had strengthened, very poor management. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17732435.mowbray-rovers-stand-terms-transfer-deals/
  2. Looking very light in the middle of midfield now with Evans injured. Smallwood's time here is clearly at an end and Davenport is obviously still not seen as an option which really only leaves us Johnson and Travis to play in the two man midfield, Downing could play there now and again but I don't think he has the legs to be playing in there week after week.
  3. They aren't going to do it forever and when they eventually decide to stop propping up a middling second tier team then god help us. That is why it is imperative that we return to the top flight soon and surely even you must acknowledge that Mowbray is not the man to do that. The way the club is currently operating is not sustainable and only promotion will change that.
  4. Is that the same Mowbray talking there who has previously talked about how it can be difficult to sign players as clubs won't let them go until they have replacements sorted? Only if it is he has gone and done the complete opposite.
  5. The difference being now that many fan's simply stay away. And the atmosphere around the ground on match day isn't really pro or anti Mowbray it is just apathetic.
  6. Samuel is not good enough for the Championship but he would certainly be better suited to playing wide than Gallagher.
  7. Chris Wilder seems to be doing alright.
  8. Only 6783 Preston fans at Deepdale on Saturday, so they may well bring more fans to Ewood than they could muster at their own ground.
  9. Walton Nyambe Tosin Lenihan Downing Travis Johnson Armstrong Holtby Rothwell Graham Subs: Leutwiler, Williams, Bennett, Evans, Chapman, Gallagher, Samuel
  10. Not sure who is going to pay £2.5 Million for Holtby, he was available for free in the summer and didn't get a club until September. The only players that you have us making a profit on are players who have come through our academy and therefore any money received for them is a profit. It's another damning indictment of the managers dealings in the transfer market.
  11. I can't see us signings 4 players during the window even 3 is unlikely. I believe that any good side is built on the foundations of a solid defence, our only left back is the horrendous Bell, the goalkeeping position speaks for itself and at centre back we are very light and to be honest Tosin doesn't hugely impress me.
  12. The 3 vital positions for January are a goalkeeper, a left back and a centre back. But other positions where we need players by the start of next season if we want to push for promotion are right back, another centre back, a central midfield, 2 wingers and 2 strikers. It's a damning indictment of the manager that after 3 years and plenty of Millions spent that we still have so many areas where we need to strengthen.
  13. And got them relegated straight away. Also it was 13 years ago when he got promotion out of this league, times have rather moved on since then. Managers such as Owen Coyle, Ian Holloway (twice), Paul Lambert, Brian McDermott and Alex McLeish have all won promotion from the Championship more recently. Mowbray like all of those manager's is yesterday's man as far as Championship management is concerned.
  14. Leutwiler JRC Lenihan Tosin Williams Travis Davenport Chapman Buckley Rothwell Gallagher
  15. If we give Mowbray until the end of the season we will be more or less exactly where we were at the end of last season only a year further down the line in terms of FFP, our best player injured and Millions more badly spent by Mowbray. Promotion is the only way to get this club's finance back on track and that needs to be achieved sooner rather than later and its clear for all to see that Mowbray is not the man to do it. Everyday that Mowbray is manager only pushes us nearer to the abyss.
  16. Unless we get promoted in the next few years which I don't believe will happen with Mowbray in charge then I believe that scenario is quite likely to happen in the next few years, as it is unsustainable to carry on bobbing along mid table/bottom half of the Championship with that amount of debt continually increasing.
  17. With the financial results that we have seen this week I think it is unsustainable that this club can carry on over the next few years going along mid table in the Championship. Within the next few years one way or another we will be out of this league either through a promotion or by repeating what happened in 16/17 buy selling our assets and brining in cheap replacements. Mowbray has already taken us out of this league one way and I don't see him as the man to take us out of it the other way.
  18. I seem to be in a very small minority but I haven't been hugely impressed with him he had a few decent performances during our decent run but more often than not he has looked average at best.
  19. He's took us down once already. And the standout man for the job is Neil Warnock.
  20. Downing looks more like 85 than 35.
  21. Make's me feel sick to read this. As one of the worst decades in the club's history comes to an end it seems the next decade could be an even worse one and who knows where we will be by the end of it. Very worrying.
  22. A tactical disasterclass from Mowbray today. We started 4-4-2 with two 6ft+ strikers and spent the half needlessly overplaying at the back and we had two players playing on the wings who were not wingers. Then in the second half we had Downing more advanced, brought Chapman on but instead of having two proper wingers playing in a 4-4-2 we went 4-2-3-1 with Downing in central midfield, Gallagher out wide and started going long into 5ft 6 Armstrong. Baffling management, but with Dack injured I fear we may see a lot more of Tony tinkering with system's.
  23. We spent stoppage time playing long balls up the middle and crossing into Armstrong whilst our 6ft 3 striker was stuck out on the right wing. There is simply not logical reason for it.
  24. Could do with a loan spell in the lower leagues and to get himself physically ready for Championship football.
  25. Has Gallagher ever put in a good performance on the wing? I certainly cannot think of one.
