Not for the first time this season with the playoffs in sight we have again produced a feeble performances which once again show that where a top half finish the glass ceiling for the group of players and manager. Walton- Made a couple of decent saves but has to push to ball wide for the second goal, he made exactly the same mistake at Middlesbrough. Bennett- Abysmal. How many more pathetic performances at full back until the manager realises that he is simply not up to it. We have one of the best right backs in the league but because the manager has fallen out with Mulgrew he has is playing centre back. Nyambe- About the only one to emerge with any credit. Tosin- No way near as good as he thinks he is. He's an average at best Championship defender who is made to look better by Lenihan. If he thinks he's going to make it at Man City then he is dreaming. Bell- Just not good enough. The manager knows that hence why he signed Cunningham yet in January he failed to address the left back position. Downing- Some decent crosses but he simply didn't have the legs against a young Derby midfield. Travis- Very poor performance today got himself needlessly booked after getting a let off early on and was missing in action from then until he was subbed. Rothwell- After a great end to last season, this season has still hasn't started. In fact he seems to be getting worse by the performance. Flattered to deceive would sum his Rovers career up. Gallagher- Useless again. First half Downing got some decent crosses into the box and he was nowhere to been seen. Got into a good goal scoring position in the first half but his touch was awful. Also like Rothwell he offers no width. Armstrong- To be honest I forgot that he was playing he was so non existent. Although it's noticeable how his and indeed the teams performances have dropped since Gallagher's return to the side. Brereton- Oh dear. -

Getting sent off for a terrible challenge and getting a 3 game ban is not showing commitment. -

He commits as stupid challenge and now has a 3 game ban. Fair play for what exactly? -

Nyambe looks like the only player who wants to make the play offs. -
Premier league to launch hall of fame

Surely Shearer and Roy Keane have to be the first two. -
Nothing wrong with what Sharpe wrote in fact I agreed with pretty much all of it. I knew we were a mentally weak team but I didn't realise we were this feeble. As for Graham saying Gallagher always put's in 110%, well surely that is to be expected of every player, is he insinuating that other's in the squad don't give it their all?

Championship season 2019-20
Ewood Ace replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The last two Championship games that I have watched on TV, us today and West Brom V Forest last week the standard of officiating has been an embarrassment. Although when you see what they are like in the Premiership's its no surprise, as even our supposed elite refs are hopeless. The continuing decline in refereeing standards in this country is a crisis for the national game. -

Another case of what could have been at Griffin Park. For a an hour I thought that we were comfortable, the first goal as well taken as it was, was poor defending from Tosin and Lenihan to be so far off him. As for the two penalties. Our's is a penalty, Raya's decision making as bad as it has always been. As for theirs it is a blatant dive but as soon as he chucked himself to the floor I just knew the ref was going to give it. Although very poor defending by Bell to allow him to get into the area. Travis and Johnson were the stand out performers today for me. Johnson is a strange player some games he looks so far of the pace you think he should be long retired and then other games he is dominant there doesn't seem to be any in between with him. The mental strength of this squad is still a worry. With the play offs in sight we again passed up the opportunity and of course yet more points dropped from a winning position. -
Can we make the Playoffs?
Ewood Ace replied to Prelude's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Or to look at it another way we have only lost once when Gallagher hasn't started. Gallagher has been a disappointment this season. Unlike some on here I wasn't against the signing (although without a doubt we overpaid) as I thought he was fairly impressive in his loan spell here. He has though regressed as a footballer since his last spell here which ever position he has played. He could do with looking how Jutkiewicz at Birmingham has adapted his game and become a good, consistent Championship striker. If Gallagher is to have a long term future at the club it will be as a striker. -

I do today. -
1-0 Buckley

Nothing to see there six of one half a dozen of the other. Get on with the game.
-
West Brom's antics have been disgraceful going down and rolling around at the slightest contact.
-
The ref is certainly doing his bit for West Brom.
-
Would you give him a contract for life?
-
Players? More like player it's only Sterling likely to be picked and we won't miss him now his little purple patch has come to an end.
-
I think ever since he got sacked by Villa he has had a massive chip on his shoulder. I was very excited when we appointed him but within a couple months that soon changed as he seemed more interested in moaning about his time at Villa than he was about Rovers.
-
Lambert is the only manager the owners have appointed who had a CV worthy of the job. Under decent owners none of the others would have even warranted an interview.
-
Couldn't understand the logic of playing Bennett and Downing as inverted wingers the other night. I can understand playing inverted wingers if they have an eye for coming inside and scoring but for someone like Downing who's biggest strength is his crossing, it limited his effectiveness. Also when did Bell of Nyambe last register an assist? Both are terrible crossers of the ball.
-
Blimey, didn't realise you had those sort of connections.
-
Depends how you define significant. One goal can be worth 3 extra points which come the end of the season could prove very significant.
-
Such little faith in our team. Why talk them down? Show some faith.

I don't like the Peterborough chairman, I think that he comes across as a narcissist and I would hate to see our Chairman all over twitter and in the media voicing his opinion. I never said that Dack hasn't produced for us but I was just saying that like Maddison he had 3 seasons of very good stats but didn't get a Championship move. As I said Jamie Vardy was nearly 26 before he played a game in the football league. Going off your theory these players shouldn't be playing at higher levels now because they hadn't got big moves after playing well in previous years. I'll say it again get that chip off your shoulder that you have about Maddison for no apparent reason and just give the lad credit for taking a knock back when he was younger and getting himself back up to playing in the second tier.
