  1. Had to double check this and it turns out their paths never crossed at Rovers - Clarkson returned to Liverpool early just as the Jan 2022 window opened and Hedges came in right at the end of it. Clarkson didn't join Aberdeen - initially on loan - until summer 2022. Still, if Aberdeen can get a tune out of Clarkson perhaps a few more players need a spell in the Granite City!
  2. Can join up with ex teammate Leighton Clarkson!
  3. A league where if you finish top you aren't champions yet, and if you finish bottom, should your ground be snazzy enough and your social media lad on form, you won't get relegated.
  4. Those first two Maiden albums are perfection. I was lucky enough to see him on tour last year and he about to hit the road again just next week. Just as the wonderful Clive Burr from the same lineup, gone too soon and deserved such a kinder life. RIP.
  5. Ah, the League 1 play off... where you can lose a game and still go up!
  6. With their takeover, I fear Everton may now see a light at the end of the tunnel. Which is a damn shame, as their plight has been fucking hilarious. Next 'big' team horribly elongated death spiral please.
  7. Where does all that come from? One bloke in particular towards the back of the stand was keen on that and the 'There's hole in your trainers' haha Mind you, not our brightest moment as a fanbase at the end shouting 'champions of England, you'll never sing that', at the team whose only real claim to fame is the being the first ever champions of England... at least they've never been in the Premier League, when 'even fucking Wigan have'. That made me laugh.
  8. Out of interest re. the PA system etc., is the same equipment used for emergency announcements, or is there a different means for that? If it is the same, I am amazed it has passed the inspections it presumably gets!
  9. It's the North Sea by then surely? Good shout though. Demolished when it shut. I still remember it feeling like you were on top of the world when you got up there as a little kid! Would that have been the highest point in Blackburn, or were the houses on Revidge Road higher still?
  10. My usual haunt down here in lieu of the Wolves Civic or the big jobs in Birmingham is KK's Steel Mill in Wolves. Geared towards rock and metal (it is sponsored by the ex Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing, whose cousin is Rovers' assistant manager!) and though not the best layout/acoustics, it is cheap, cheerful, feels 'real' and gets decent names on. Not the flashiest of joints but offers a space for punters to have a proper experience and relevant bands of all shapes and sizes a stage. Night and day compared to the trek to the O2 jobs in Birmingham with their 'wedge 'em in, bleed 'em dry' approach as an attendee.
  11. On the other hand, it's a bit shit for the mid-range bands who aren't going to attract 100,000-strong queues. Best part of £80 or £90 to see the Damned or Anthrax at the Wolves Civic when I checked. Status Quo (I forget the venue) cost similar. These days I am down to keeping an eye on the local venues and theatres and only looking periodically for when five or six 'big' bands tour. Simply can't afford to be a casual concert goer for the bigger bands these days. (One of the joys of the smaller venues is being able to afford a pint, should you so wish. Was just shy of a tenner for one at Wembley Arena back in March and the O2 venues are £8.50 I think... I tend to be teetotal for those occasions!)
  12. I don't know. Presuming the full 90 is still up from when Rovers broadcast it on Youtube during Covid I may have to rewatch it in full to be sure. What a pity!
  13. I don't, never have and never will want Man United to do well, but I especially want them to make a godawful hash of it at the moment to get it right up that reprehensible prick Ratcliffe.
  14. It will pass then something else will happen, there will be outrage, it will pass and repeat until the end of all eternity. Genuinely amuses me that people complain that it has lost its working class roots and events x, y and z are the straw to break the camel's back. 'Elite' level football lost any premise of being for the working classes decades ago. Stop funding it or suck it up.
  15. Listening to some of the shouts at matches at all levels amuses me. Always wonder what they expect their teammates to do instead! 'SECONDS', 'Cheers mate, I was going to let him just take that half-volley'
  16. Maybe 2003 or so, didn't EH Diouf (for Bolton) dive to win a late penalty in front of the Darwen End, which they converted? Not that it made a difference in the grand scheme of things, but it annoyed me. Seem to remember that fixture went through a spell of the hosts never winning too? And my memory may really be playing tricks here, but for one we got away with, Sir Big Brad vs. Les Ferdinand down in Cardiff? If that wasn't a penalty it was very close!
  17. If you'd have told a younger me, amidst runs to FA Cup semi finals, League Cup champions, European runs and Premier League top 10 finishes; that one day my support would manifest in the form of sitting awaiting judges in a far off land wading through the murkiest depths of human deprivation to deliver an edict on us, I don't think I would have believed you...
  18. Leave the poor things alone, they've just spent nine months being worked to death and have then had to go and do the same in America/Asia, though with less complaints it seems. (Heaven forbid they have to field their Championship-grade second eleven at a Cup replay at Peterborough mind!)
  19. Though perhaps not particularly enjoyable for Sunderland fans heading for Cardiff, Pompey fans to Leeds and Swansea fans to Boro with 5am alarms; nor Donkey Lashers getting home from Crawley, Rotherham fans from Exeter and Cambridge United fans from Stockport in the small hours of Sunday.
  20. Crikey, Norfolk has shifted a bit from when I last went.
  21. Looking at Wigan's bench, I genuinely had no idea Andy Lonergan was still going. Proper blast from the last that was.
  22. I didn't do the survey but presuming it was free text answers I love how someone felt the need to be absolutely clear that they lived near Knutsford and also in Cheshire. Surprised they want to be associated with such uncouth hobbies. Turns out there is another Rovers fan living in my neck of the woods too. I think the most unexpected fan I have ever seen down here was an old boy in a park in town in an Elgin City hat!
  23. I mean at least it sorts the content storyline for the next series they do on ITVbe... the struggles as they search the home counties high and low for a seven bedroomed detached house with space for a driving range...
  24. Way this club is going we'd sign Tim Henman instead
  25. And there was me thinking you couldn't post pornography on here.
