  1. Aye, a complete fiddle to favour the 11th-placed side in the top flight sadly. Under the present system, no team has ever finished 3rd or 4th and gone up.
  2. Pleased with this evening. Bowyer did Coyle and my Scottish team Ayr got the best finish possible!
  3. Don't seem to have much luck out that way... don't we have a similar record at Carrow Road?
  4. I've never been to Home Park or Portman Road, so I for one welcome the return of our Pilgrim and Tractor Boy bretheren.
  5. Friday night coming sees Queen's Park, managed by a certain O. Coyle and going for a third promotion in as many years, play Dundee, managed by a certain G. Bowyer, for a winner takes all promotion tie in the Scottish Championship. (A draw sees Dundee go up!)
  6. I must disagree with the bit in bold, that absolves any of the wankers involved at our end of any blame. Hudds may not have aided our predicament but they were under no obligation to do so. If you can't amass enough points after 46 games to stay up then the only ones to blame are those staring back at you in the mirror IMO.
  7. Doesn't he, or didn't he, hold the record for the most shots at the World Cup without ever scoring?
  8. Just seen the footage. Absolute fuckwit.
  9. Luton Town FC received a legal challenge from the owners of the shopping centre in the town itself IIRC, which has delayed everything as the shopping centre LTFC want to build on the outskirts funds the new stadium. Don't know what the latest is on that front - as with most things like this it seems to have dragged on for years.
  10. Ah, arguments about population. Never change BRFCS.
  11. Put up some banners and balloons?
  12. I'm sure Arsenal would be delighted if, when Arteta leaves, club legend and Arsenal Encyclopedia Tony Adams takes over. Couldn't manage a village shop but I'm sure that doesn't matter.
  13. Aye, not as if Liverpool is the third or fourth biggest city in England is it?
  14. News doing the rounds today that DAZN are keen on streaming every last minute of all EFL games as part of the new deal, amongst other proposals. https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/efl-3pm-blackout-scrapped-streaming-tv-rights-2197984
  15. I think my favourite story from the days of re-election was Barrow being punted because of its poor transport links. Here we are nearly half a decade later, they're back in the League on merit, and the transport links are still as poor as they were then. Some sort of justice in there I think?!
  16. No worse than half the shite these threads can descend into tbh
  17. If we had proper fans befitting a team in the play off places, we'd hitch hike. Or something.
  18. Some job Jon Coleman has done there over his two stints. Didn't they achieve something mad like finishing higher in the league 12 years in a row?
  19. Your other half doesn't fancy getting married in North West London by chance, do they?
  20. Sure it used to be Sat in even years and Mon in odd years, changed to consistently Sat a few years back.
  21. 1) I'm too young to remember '95 and too young to have done any of our European tours, so I'll have to stick with Cardiff 2002! 2) Any of our successes up to 1928. I appreciate '95, but I'd love to be able to see Rovers and the game of that era. Healless, Suter, Crompton et al.
  22. I've never subscribed to the Hudds were the bad guys angle. It's a tale as old as time that if you're safe at that time of year then anything and everything happens with the starting XI. Rovers have done it time and time again, as have hundreds of other teams. My best advice would be to not go into the final day of the season depending on favours!
  23. There's a smattering of good, very traditional pubs at the St Andrews side of Birmingham city centre, however I cannot vouch for what these are like on matchdays. The safest bet is the city centre, but it all depends on what your 'scene' is pub-wise! The best 'old boys discussing ale' pubs is the Wellington, for European stuff but traditional vibe the Post Office Vaults is the one. Modern stuff you have the Head of Steam and North Taproom (ed: name corrected! - Sommar is also very good and similar) by Snow Hill. The Colmore and Good Intent are also well recommended, both brand new-ish with a good atmosphere and array of beer. Also your usual array of Spoons if that more your thing. Of all those I've given, I think the Good Intent (upstairs) is the only one to show live sport.
  24. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/mar/21/inside-world-premier-league-football-referees-pgmol-howard-webb-andre-marriner-darren-england Is this it? About to dive in...
