  1. We all know that he won a trophy. Assuming that he isn't potted imminently after overseeing their worst league season in decades, that will soon be forgotten though come the new season, when, if they don't radically and quickly improve their league form, he will be history.
  2. The 3 promoted/relegated sides aside, Spurs are statistically the worst team in that league. But yeah, Postecoglou has 'delivered success'.
  3. It would not surprise me one bit if other clubs tried their luck this summer with low ball offers for our better players - Travis, Tronstad, Brittain et al - and we see them moved on.
  4. I can picture it now... Utter carnage and chaos behind the scenes. Contracts and extension offers not accepted/rescinded External bids for players accepted. Players walking away. No new incomings. U23's expected to step up. Hitting pre-season in the opposite position to what Ismael wanted. Disaster on the pitch awaits.
  5. The situation is a ticking time bomb. There's only so many assets of worth left to sell. Once they've exhausted these, then what next? The Academy? Ewood itself? Sooner or later, the owners are going to have to stump up some cash, impediment or not. Otherwise, boom....
  6. The cynic in me would ask why they just say 'club event' rather than any specifics.
  7. Nah, Hedgy will have signed his one year extension by then. It'll be like a new signing, don't you know!
  8. My guess is that Hedges has been kept around with a view to him being a regular starter, rather than merely being a squad player.
  9. 8,000 sold vs 9,100 last season is a significant downgrade, with miminal expectation that many more will be sold at these prices, I imagine. That's a lot of lost revenue. Let's see how they spin this one...
  10. Any Rovers fan - certainly those of us who were there that day - being 'delighted' for Crystal Bloody Palace winning anything, needs to give their head a wobble.
  11. Of course that's the case, unfortunately. Modern sport dances to Sky's tune. For Sky to describe the PL as the 'best league in the world', though, is a marketing strapline, one used to encourage take up of their service. That was the point I was making.
  12. Rangers are interested in him, according to some link on BBC Sport.
  13. You're probably right, I need to be less cycnical in my old age. The PL is 'THE BEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD!!!' 🤣
  14. To describe the PL as the 'best league in the world' is subjective guff. It's just a meaningless marketing statement used to sell Sky subscriptions.
  15. By that logic, if they similarly decided to cease funding of the Academy, and bearing in mind that few of us go to watch games there, then we shouldn't get 'worked up' about that either. Whether people attend the women's games is irrelevant. What is relevant, is yet another decision being made which is symptomatic of the way in which the club operates.
  16. Also known in executive circles as 'washing our own face', I believe. All Hail Suhail.
  17. Sigh. I see that the 'best league in the world' hyperbole is back.
  18. Don't you find it odd that these supposed 'ST packages' won't get announced until after ST phase 1?
  19. We all know that clubs do early birds/phased selling etc. And we all know that they do it primarily for cash flow reasons. We get that. There's a difference between that, though, and what is happening at Rovers. As I've said, it's a cash grab over a limited period of time, before the prices become (even more) astronomical in phase 2. They're essentially forcing any prospective ST buyer to do so now in phase 1. It's shorted sighted, short terminism. If they had any ounce of commercial nous, they could easily find other - non financial - ways to encourage supporters to renew early. The price should be the price, no matter when you buy.
  20. I don't believe that they actually do expect to sell many after the deadline, and any they did would just be a bonus. The whole point of their strategy is to coerce/force all potential ST buyers into doing so quickly in phase 1. Phase 2 pricing is the stick to do this with. It's just a short term cash grab.
  21. I suspect that in their 'wisdom' they're trying to coerce any remaining potential buyers to do so before the end of phase 1, rather than seriously expect anyone to buy at phase 2 prices. What will actually happen is that sales will now fall off a cliff edge. Clueless.
  22. I watched both of the Barca/Inter games, both were fabulous entertainment and both are great teams. Barca missed their regular full backs Kounde and Balde, which I think weakened their defence a lot. They have an inability to clear their lines at times which cost them. Inter will take some beating.
  23. Weinman, Hedges, Forshaw. How predictable. How unimaginative. How depressing.
  24. What does it matter to you if someone confirms or denies whether they are a STH or not? Perhaps they just want to keep their own private matters....errr private.
