That's not how things work though. If you sell more tickets you've got more people there for repeat business, selling pints, pies, shirts etc. In short, you make more money by selling more tickets. You do need to have the most basic understanding of consumer economics and as is so blindingly evident, not one single person who works for the venky organisation possess such attributes.

They were an amazing team but I think Pep's responsibility for that greatness gets overstated and the absolute world class quality of every single member of the team is criminally overlooked. I'm not saying he's a shit manager or anything but he's not anywhere near as great as is made out to be.
