  1. I remember whe Shearer went to Newcastle and some lad at school turned up with a Newcastle shirt on. Instant loss of any credibility and was excluded from any football related activities (which at 8 years old was pretty much everything). In fact, I think he didn't even really follow football much after that. I remember when I was about 12 or 13 me and a Dingle lad at school absolutely ripping out this other lad who was a United "supporter" for not supporting his local team. I can tell you now that if anyone we'd have know had turned up in a Palace shirt then they'd never be allowed to forget it. That is the most tinpot thing I've ever heard of, and age is absolutely no excuse. If I'd have turned up with something like that on my back my old man wouldn't have let me in the house. I can understand why folk have an interest in following his career but why anyone would want a shitty nothing club like Palace to do well is beyond me. At the end of the day, Wharton left at the very first opportunity entirely for the benefit of his own career. If he wanted to stay he could have.
  2. In my entire life in Blackburn I've never been given anything with currants in it when asking for a tea cake. Not denying that there are such a thing as currant tea cakes but ask for a tea cake round Blackburn and you'll get the plain variety that you have chips on. That is a tea cake.
  3. Then that's a currant tea cake.
  4. You can't teach talent. You can however teach your goalkeeper that when a cross comes into the six yard box you fucking catch it!
  5. Agree with this 100%. It's small time and tinpot. Embarrassing really. I don't give two fucks about Crystal Palace, they're a complete non entity. I can understand a very minor interest in how Wharton is getting on but this whole thread is just completely embarrassing. We are Blackburn Rovers. Former Premier League champions and the tenth most successful club in England. Wharton should have stayed and forced the club to run out of money to bring on administration, that would have been a great thing for him to do. He ain't a Rovers player anymore so I couldn't give a toss. What are you all going to do if he scores against us? Start cheering, waving your Palace or whatever other shit club he's playing for, scarves over your heads? As I said before, a real Rovers fan wouldn't have allowed themselves to be shoved out the door like that. And one more thing, a tea cake doesn't have fucking currants in it!
  6. Doesn't that last part justify my argument here?
  7. That was the only highlight from what was one of the worst seasons in history. Thankfully Souness took a machete to that squad and built up a proper team the year after and got the job done.
  8. Charles Mingus - Goodbye Pork Pie Hat
  9. A proper Rovers fan wouldn't have left.😎
  10. I just don't give a fuck about them because they're a complete nothing club. Maybe it's a bit of envy also, Wharton should be celebrating winning the FA Cup with Rovers but thanks to the chicken overlords any opportunities for anything like that have been extinguished. Deliberately.
  11. You need a shred of dignity to be ashamed. Venkys don't have that.
  12. The deal hasn't benefited the club whatsoever and it never will. I for one, am glad they sold him on the cheap.
  13. The frustrating thing about Roberts was that he spent a lot of time on his arse, which was strange given that he could just bulldoze any defenders in the world when he wanted to. I still enjoyed having him here.
  14. Yeah but that's apples and oranges, no way can Rovers ever compare to the mighty Livingston. Nobody would buy this club, get real man.
  15. But I thought people would only lose their jobs if venkys left?
  16. Great stuff. Another cultural landmark being closed down so some piece of shit investors can steal even more wealth from society. Disgusting. Where are the riots against this sort of thing happening? Where's the outrage over actual British culture being annihilated for the sake of greed?
  17. I hate Leyton Orient. All they had to do was win one game and send the dingles out of the league all together and they fucked it up. I wish a plague upon them for all eternity.
  18. The lack of self awareness on display here is really something to behold.
