I think the subs made us worse not better. There’s more than one or two players I’m still not convinced with.

England moving the ball around really well. Wales haven’t turned up yet.

I used to get “ LoadsAMoney “ from the late and much lamented “ Sportspages “ just off St. Ann’s Square in Manchester. My mate was a Darlo fan and I used to get him their fanzine “ Mission Impossible “ from there also. Great title for a Rovers fanzine these days. -

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tyrone Shoelaces replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Taking the season as a whole we just don’t make enough clear cut chances. It’s the old chestnut of playing a back four and two holding midfielders that rarely get into the last third of the pitch. We have 7 players who will probably not get more the 7 goals between them all season. It’s asking a lot of the other four players. -
Once upon a time I was going to have a tee shirt printed that said - “ I saw Stuart Munro play for Rovers. “ One for the fans with a long memory I’ll see if Baradji can do better than Stuart did.

I saw him riding Shergar over in Wiltshire the other day.

They could play them on the moon for all I care. On the dark side preferably. -

They’re just like any other team now. Back in the day you could tell a Brazilian team just by the way they played no matter what shirts they were wearing. -

Sean Dyche knew how good he was. He was trying to sign him when he was at Everton but he couldn’t convince the board there to splash the cash. -

I like Ismael’s attitude there. At the least he tells it like it is.

Championship Season 25-26

The centre half comes flying out of defence with the ball. Nobody fills in for him. He over plays his hand and loses the ball. Ipswich transfer the ball into the space he’s just left and it’s game over. The sort of thing we do. -

Full backs get a lot of stick these days regarding “ positioning “. I think they play too close to the centre halves but that is obviously where they’ve been told to play. -

He just lacked real pace, apart from that he could have been a regular in thst team. He had a good football brain. -

Just a shame he didn’t show any of that crossing ability when he was at Rovers. He couldn’t even take a corner properly back then. -

If the weather in Blackburn is anything like the weather in Rochdale I can’t see the game going ahead. We had 2” of rain in my back garden yesterday. Plus it’s pouring down now. -

It was the quality of his passing that stood out for me. A lot of one touch stuff that meant he was very rarely caught in possession. Always where the player receiving the ball wanted it. Always with just the right amount of pace on the ball. He was Tugayesque and still a teenager. As you say even the dogs in the street could see he was special talent. Anybody who thought Lowe was a footballer disqualified themselves from making a comment on Wharton. The first time I saw him play I was genuinely shocked. What did he bring to the game ? He could run a bit, tackle a bit, pass it 10 yards to a team mate, head it bit. Was he a game changer like Wharton is ? Never in a million years.
