  1. If he could improve his decision making he’d be a much better player. Souey did that with Matt Jansen so somebody should be able to do the same with Dolan.
  2. It’s on the back page of today’s “ Guardian “ with more of the story on an inside page. It’s featured as an exclusive by Tom Garry - “ Blackburn tell angry players WSL 2 place is in jeopardy. “ It doesn’t really tell us anything thst we on here don’t already know. It just refers to “ Blackburn “, it doesn’t mention the Chicken Chokers at all. It come to something when the women players have more balls than the men when it comes to speaking out !
  3. Allegedly they had to chose between Taylor or Ball about who to sign.
  4. I don’t get carried away with young players shining initially in their careers. The history of football is full of kids who looked great for a game or two. They’re playing on pure adrenaline. When that wears off ? Remember Adam Henley ?
  5. I wonder if that’s a real “ Rolex “ he’s wearing ?
  6. James Brown And The Famous Flames - I Don’t Mind
  7. I’m not his biggest fan but I wouldn’t sell him unless somebody came in with a really good offer. Unlikely I know. I don’t think there’s much between him and Ribeiro in terms of ability but I still think Pickering is handy as a stand in left sided centre half in a back five.
  8. It was a really bad, out of control, tackle that put him out. Their guy didn’t even get booked, I’m not sure we got a free kick !
  9. Rod Thomas for Watford. As a school boy he was going to be the next big thing. Ewan Roberts, another one of those scary centre forwards that played with their front teeth missing !
  10. You been at a pro club since the age of about 8. You’ve had pro coaching for about 20 years. And you still have a “ weaker foot “ ? What do they do at training ? Practise falling over ?
  11. It was really sandy with a strong wind blowing. Something you never see today- the ref stopped the game 3 or 4 times to help get sand out of some of the players eyes with his hanky ! It’s funny the thing you remember. Oh and centre forward Steve Johnson ( ex-Rochdale ) scored two really good goals for them.
  12. That’s true but most strikers would benefit from a bit of support.
  13. He stopped the rot and got going in the right direction eventually.
  14. I had the same thing at a John Fogerty gig at the Manchester Apollo a few years ago. Some idiot sat right behind us was singing the lyrics that loud I couldn’t hear Fogerty. I asked him to pipe down but I was just wasting my breath. My mate was ready to plant him. Luckily there was a few empty seats a row or two further down and we moved.
  15. At least they won’t be coming in for Ismael.
  16. Some really good strikers goals in that video clip. What’d he be like with more service ? Plus he always gives 100%. A good signing for me.
  17. Crawford got both goals in a 2-1 win, April 29th 1980. In front of 13, 369. Rovers - Butcher Rathbone, Keeley, Fazackerley, Branaghan. Brotherston, Kendall, McKenzie, Parkes. Crawford, Garner. Sub Thorley for Parkes. We played Bury again at home on the Saturday 3rd of May and lost 1-2 !
  18. I think he got a bad injury a while ago. He’s hardly featured since.
  19. No, I was working on Saturdays back then. I was at Gigg Lane when we won promotion under Howard Kendall though.
