  1. What will he be worth now ? On another note I heard Dolan has been called up for the England U-20’s team and Chile have required Brererton to travel to Chile.
  2. A couple of big decisions for Mowbray then. Do we keep to the back four that worked well in the second half midweek ? Who of the three centre halves gets to sit on the bench if we do play 4 at the back ?
  3. If Nyambe was fit he’d be my right back in a back four.
  4. That’s a massive win for Everton.
  5. I remember when Souey sent Blake on in the last ten minutes in that game against Utd when we had a player ( Short ? ) sent off. His instructions would have been run your nuts off and keep them occupied down that end for 10 minutes. . Blake just jogged about and didn’t do anything to help out the rest of the lads. I don’t think he played for Souey again much after that.
  6. I’m not Gallagher’s biggest fan but he would be faster than Ward running backwards.
  7. Sounds like they got knocked about a bit like we did. Speaking of Luton what’s the latest on Edun ? There hasn’t been much about him since he got kicked out of the game down there.
  8. What did he do at Rovers ? - Not a lot.
  9. Interesting. There’s obviously going to be a debate as to which system to play on Saturday given the game of two halves on Tuesday. I wonder which way Mowbray will jump. I’m just a bit concerned about the fullbacks, Lenihan isn’t a natural right back and Pickering hasn’t really got going since his return from injury. It’s a shame both of Nyambe and Edun are injured.
  10. I get the feeling he doesn’t much like physical contact.
  11. I was saying on another thread Gallagher managed to get himself up against an opponent a foot shorter for the goal. Good play on our part, bad on Derby’s. Gallagher reminds me of Devon Malcolm. Somebody has to get him angry before he really gets stuck in. For those who don’t know cricket Malcolm was an amiable fast bowler who couldn’t bat to save his life. In a game against South Africa they made the mistake of bowling bouncers at him against the unwritten rule at the time that you don’t bounce non batters. He got hit a couple of times. I thought at the time” Mm, I wouldn’t do that if I were you “. When it was South Africa’s turn to bat Malcolm absolutely roared in bowling like a man possessed. He had them all out in no time and he had figures of about 8 for 30 ! I never saw him bowl quite like that again. Somebody had to get him mad first.
  12. Thanks as always Tony. We’re you tempted to give up at half time ?
  13. That was a decent header but did you notice how tall the guy he was jumping against was ? Gallagher must have been a foot taller.
  14. I was reading about Andy McEvoy earlier. He played for Rovers on the Saturday and scored twice then he travelled to Dublin to play for the Republic of Ireland on the Sunday and scored another two !
  15. I’ll let you know after this Saturday’s game.
  16. What’ll be really annoying if we don’t go up is that the team that does won’t be any better than we are.
  17. Mm, wasn’t Keegan European footballer of the year ? Gullit was an amazing player in his prime. He could play anywhere on the pitch an look a world beater.
  18. Luton 4-0 up with 35% of possession.
  19. Me too but we had a good few years with him.
  20. I thought the opinion at the time on Hedges was a bit underwhelming. Quite a few saying he wouldn’t be good enough, a few others saying he would be. There certainly wasn’t a groundswell of opinion clamouring to sign him.
  21. Sounds like there was a showdown at halftime. They should have bound and gagged Tony and put him in the kit skip.
  22. Cook’s been their “ Kevin Moran “ figure though. I thought he was outstanding when they came to Ewood.
  23. I thought it was going to be Forest before they lost Cook and Lowe for six weeks.
