  1. I think he's a player that's gone backwards.
  2. I'll be honest, I don't think Szmodics has a season anything like the one just gone ever again.
  3. JDT was too demanding for this group. Which is why I had a chuckle at Gallagher's comments about wanting to be at a club with ambition.
  4. As long as we're not on the hook for his wages if he gets another long-term injury like the Poveda nonsense. bring him in.
  5. Smacks of someone on the inside having their head screwed on and trying to give us a fighting chance of surviving relegation. Obviously the big gamble is whether Batth, McFadz, Weimann et al can still do it at this level - but that's why they're frees. They have bags of experience, which is what JDT was always screaming out for. You're right - we still lack pace and another striker and a bloody GK, but I suspect they'll all be loans.
  6. Don't tease me with the thought that they're looking for a buyer. I think it's more Waggott and co being unwilling to offer long-term contracts out because there is no guarantee of any more funds ever coming from India - so we literally can't promise to pay players after this season.
  7. Absolutely no chance Szmodics will play for us again.
  8. He was mostly an unused sub. He needs consistent first team football or his development is going to stagnate.
  9. I'd love to be in the JDT / Broughton group chat. The bloke they wanted last year, and were told no because he's too old, is now in. Genuinely an absolute joke.
  10. He's already proven himself to not be good enough. We'll be adrift at the bottom by Christmas if he's the nailed on starter and Szmodics / A.N. Other isn't banging in goals at a ridiculous rate.
  11. Ah the modern day myth - the need for a left footed CB. Pep has a lot to answer for.
  12. He's got until January to do what? A blind man on a galloping horse can see that he's shite.
  13. Anything more than survival is a miracle with these owners.
  14. Well Wahlsted's wages are off the books too. So are Gallagher's. That will have freed up a lot of wiggle room.
  15. If they are then it's clearly Walters showing that he still loves the club after all these years.
  16. He's probably worth more than our entire club.
  17. Our budget definitely doesn't stretch to photoshop!!
  18. They better not do that for all of our signings - our budget doesn't stretch to buying a Japanese and French flag, and maybe an Austrian one too. Gotta be more frugal, lads.
  19. I wonder what they paid for him. I think he's a useful player at this level and only 20.
  20. You mean like Hilton, Eastham et al who clearly aren't good enough but keep on getting contracts / found soft landings elsewhere? We absolutely do right by the Academy players - it's one of the few things still to be proud of with this club.
  21. "Appreciate the offer, but I have a much better chance of first team football in the immediate future here. I owe it to the club, and myself, to repay them for the faith they've had in me".
