Don't forget best football ever seen by a Rovers side. -
Blackburn v Doncaster, FA Cup, Sat 9th Jan

My team would be - Kaminski Pike Carter Lenihan Bell Travis Davenport Dolan Dack Brereton Armstrong Nothing too drastic, win the game and keep the momentum from last Saturday going. -

I won't reply to your condescending post before this. Anyway, take out the fact that he apparently gave his word to come here and didn't (which is nonsense anyway). If its a choice between him and Johnson at centre half for the next few months surely its not an awful signing? -
TRANSFER THREAD - JANUARY 2021

Did he? I don't recall ever seeing anything to suggest he told someone at Rovers that he was definitely coming here. We offered him terms, he found a better deal. Things change in a few months The Sir Alex comparison is daft anyway, this is Mowbray's mid table Rovers, of course players are going to hold on for a better deal elsewhere before totally commiting. -
Mowbrays Successor
MarkBRFC replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yep. A decent January incoming, before go on another 1 win in 7 adventure. -
Not really sure what you are "taking issue" with. I agree with the first paragraph. Things haven't been good for a decade now though so it's natural support is dropping of. Of course you will, most kids who have Rovers supporting parents will inevitably follow in there footsteps. Parents who don't really have an interest though? There's no way there kids are following Rovers with City and Utd on the TV every week. I'm not making it up, a walk around Blackburn town cente on a matchday morning these days (pre covid) and you don't see many youngsters wearing Rovers shirts about. Plenty for the "big clubs" though.

Well my lad for one! 10 years old and first game in 2015, he regularly says to me how bad we are but he's always eager to get back to Ewood and going to new grounds to watch us, even in todays era he looks forward to watching the next game on ifollow. But yes, unless you have family or something then I don't really see many supporting us off there own back these days unfortunately. Whenever I have a walk around Blackburn before going to Ewood these days I always see more youngsters in utd & city gear rather than Rovers.

I find it bad enough that they wave that giant flag about at Ewood with his face on before kick off, although with him and Waggott running things i certainly wouldn't rule out a statue, probably put it in front of Jack.

Football "Circuit Breaker"
MarkBRFC replied to MarkBRFC's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
This was being discussed on Quest the other night. Think the government are making another announcement on Wednesday, although that will probably just to introduce another daft tier. Surely this has to be considered with the amount of games being called off at the moment? -

Is that the season review with the blue case called "The Rovers Return"? Thats the one i had as a kid, missed quite a lot out that video did, think it was an ITV production. I stumbled across one years later on ebay that had Garner on the front that was a two parter, and was closer to the highlights we have been getting in this thread. -
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55413489 Just been reading this, with this new strain of the virus doing the rounds do you think they should maybe suspend the football season for a month or so before it settles down? (If it settles down?) I fear league one and two especially could be thrown into chaos over the next few weeks with positive testing.

TRANSFER THREAD - JANUARY 2021
MarkBRFC replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The best bit of transfer business we could do in Jan would be to sell Mowbray and replace him with Bilic. -
Hopefully it's sooner but I personally don't see it until around Easter time.

I've bought most games so far for a tenner each, only missed the Bounemouth, Swansea & QPR games so far. The coverage has been alright for me so far touch wood. Yes it's a bit behind but I just mute my phone for 45 minutes, catch up with mates on my WhatsApp group at half time and then repeat for the second half. I can't understand anyone not watching it based on that. Seeing as there isn't a great deal else to do I have quite enjoyed hooking my laptop up to the TV and settling down with a beer to watch the games. Hopefully only for this season though!

I do agree with some of this, but I think Buckley obviously does have some talent. I think he will be similar to Paul Gallagher in that he won't really make it here, but will have a decent career at league one/championship level and probably won't become a regular starter anywhere until he is 26/27.

Bristol City v Rovers. Wed 9th Dec. 7.45pm
MarkBRFC replied to darrenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I noticed that Dan Pike from the U23 squad has been given a squad number over the weekend so you just never know. Hate to be negative considering the recent results and the fight the lads have shown over the last week or so, but you do have to wonder if this one will be a game too far for us with the injuries piling up. -
Haha We're in trouble if we're basing things off what Mrs Desai thinks on a football level.

Rovers v Millwall. Wed 2nd Dec 7.45pm
MarkBRFC replied to darrenrover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I said this on the opening page of the Barnsley thread, and have to say the lads proved me wrong this week, two real scraps of games that we have ground out and come away with 6 points. Some might disagree but after the thumping wins, these wins prove to me more that we could actually be up at the top end challenging. Key now is to try and grind out some wins away from home when we're under the cosh. Delighted. -

He wouldn't dare. Remember his perfectly balanced and valid article about Sam Gallagher back in February? -

Championship Season 2020 - 2021
MarkBRFC replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It was meant to be yeah, the only reason it wasn't on TV after the restart was because sky's commentators couldn't bang on for 90 minutes about the 7000 Leeds fans there. -
Championship Season 2020 - 2021

Ah yeah of course. Some real optimism around Ewood that night. There was an away game at Doncaster on a Friday night too the season before, but I don't think that was televised. -
The Ryan Nyambe Appreciation Thread
MarkBRFC replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Hard to believe it took until the end of October last season for this lad to even get a start because Mowbray preferred Bennett ? I think he's brilliant, especially on Saturday with him having a hand in both goals. I don't see him signing a new deal here though unfortunately. -
Championship Season 2020 - 2021

I can only think of two live Friday night games on sky since relegation in 2012, both in our first season down against Middlesbrough & Wolves. -

Obviously a terrible day but a great pic, both my mum and grandad went to that and my mum still has a dislike for Palace even now. My grandad always said it was a toss up between this and the 1960 cup final for his worst. My first trip down there was for the opening game of the 92-93 season, I think there was still a bit of tension there that day due to the events of 3 years earlier!
