What's changed though? I remember you clearly saying this time last year (or the year before?) that Whiteman didn't take to Mowbray or Waggott at all and was joining Adkins at Hull because he liked him and had worked for him before. Has Whiteman changed his opinion of them, now that a year on it appears nobody is really breaking down Donnys door to sign him?
-
That free agent left back, and Whiteman for the midfield would represent a very decent window on paper. Still can't see us stumping up the cash for Whiteman though.
-
Defending seems to be secondary to being able to ping a 40 yard pass in that position these days.
-
Sort of player you could see them buying back in 2 or 3 years for £50m or something, if he adapts to the top flight well enough of course.
-
Seems to be a lot of overthinking for this transfer window, it's not really that confusing. Deals between domestic based clubs and clubs overseas - Deadline 5th October Deals between domestic clubs loan or permanent - Deadline 16th October
-
I think it will be after the international break in November.
-
I think, you have to watch the game on the device you buy it on. I have been buying mine on the website through my laptop, then connecting it to my TV. Worked out well so far.

I think this is a great point. The naivety that everything will suddenly be ok by next season is astonishing. I hope we are back in then but who knows, this whole situation has got a long way to run IMO.

Joe Rothwell - A myth or a prospect?

Mowbray not playing someone in there favourite position? No, I'm not having it. -
Yeah I feel the same about Williams, he started last season in good form too partnering Lenihan at the back. Williams is someone who can slot in for a few games here and there, but if he's your team every week at this level, then you wont be getting promoted.

5-1 up we were in that West Ham game at one point. Was just over a year after the 5-4 against Crystal Palace, and I don't think we have been involved in a 5-4 since? -
Which stand has only gone up by £20? My seat has gone up by £80 in the Riverside this season. Do you honestly think that is an acceptable rise during a global pandemic with the biggest recession in decades upon us, in a town like Blackburn? They have also quietly dropped the free under 8's tickets in the family stand which I think is disgusting, a dad and a couple of kids that age have suddenly had £170 added to there bill In that stand. Is that acceptable in the current climate?

I genuinely cant understand that, winning football is the best football however you achieve it. Give me that over the 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth every day of the week. Just hope we get many more days like the last two Saturdays this season where we can combine both!
-
Gallagher is a shoe in for the winger role when fit.
-
Complete nonsense, especially after two games. Now if we go through the season playing like this and stuffing teams 3, 4 & 5-0 every week then I might change my mind. I still say that Hodgson's sides at the start of the 97 season was the best "pure football" I have seen from a Rovers side, followed by Souness's side of 02-03. Obviously if we're combining the whole package, then the side of 95 had it all, good football that could mix it up, and where everyone played as a team.

Haha, no to be fair you just got caught up in it, I just knew I made a post about Holtby sitting as a deep midfielder when he joined and went to find it ?
-
Can't believe people are actually discussing Jones like he's an option ?

The game they played in is the below... -
Hate to toot my own horn, but I made this post nearly a year ago. It was as clear as day that Holtby would be best in that deep midfield role as soon as he joined, why Mowbray was messing around playing him everywhere but there is a mystery to me. @Paul Mani reckoned he wasn't a CM ? In all fairness though, earlier in this thread I said I was convinced that he wouldn't be here this season, I thought it was a strange deal at the start and he would be back in Germany by now. I do think he will leave after this season though, and that Mowbray has eyes on Buckley taking up this role as a regular next season, hopefully it comes off.

Somebody will somewhere, remember the Jordan Rhodes debate on here? "All he does is score goals" well, yeah I'll take that thanks!
-
Contrast that approach from PNE to ours practically begging people to buy them.
-
He publicly hung his defenders out to try in that whole "defenders are coming" spiel a couple of years back. Then there was Raya last summer.
-
One of the best man managers out there was Kenny Dalglish. He always said, and I saw it on one of those old season review videos recently "we're always looking to bring players in that are better than what we have got, it's how a club moves forward". I'm certainly not having it that Mowbray is this master man manager.
-
Taken from that article.. This is why we'll never progress with Mowbray, if you're signing players for any other reason than improving the first 11 then what's the point? We have enough squad fillers as it is.

Forget #WeAreTogether #WehaveDoneAllWeCan should be the tagline at Rovers these days.
