Rovers vs Reading at Virtual Ewood
MarkBRFC replied to Lancs Rover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
How can you forget that magical week in August 2018 after we beat Brentford 1-0 at Ewood? We spent a whole week in the top six, then lost 4-1 at Bristol. Infact we have only spent 10 weeks in the top 6 of this league since relegation in 2012, and six of those weeks were straight afterwards under Ke*n & Black. We're going nowhere anytime soon. -
All non league clubs below conference north/south were allowed crowds in for there FA Cup games so far. Any that have made it to the first round though now have to play behind closed doors. Makea no sense to me.
-
Personally think Dolan will be playing more for the U23s than the first team come the new year. Think when Dack gets back involved he has to be in that front three.

Did Brentford pay £30m for Ollie Watkins?

Not sure about that, I'd say we have played like that 5 times this season, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Wycombe, Derby & Watford, we won two of them and lost three. So we don't win playing like that 9/10 times at all. I also think you will be saying that exact same thing a few more times this season yet. Still, it's the "best football ever played by a Rovers side" apparently. This is how I look at it, I can't really understand enjoying possession stats that don't go anywhere and end up losing the game. Give me the bit in bold every time over last night. -
Yes, apologies you are indeed correct, 97/98 was the first season where runners up were allowed in, I got confused that it was the 97/98 season where it was first introduced!
-
I think vinjay is correct with Man Utd being the first club to benefit from the runners up going into the champions league, but you are correct with the season. So your both wrong (and correct!).
-
Even with the latest plans, the "big six" won't leave the English league, they want a European super league to go alongside it replacing the champions league. I'd rather they left the English league altogether to be honest and leave us with a good competitive top flight, but that will never happen.
-
But I meant in general, if you weren't at work would you watch them on the red button? A service that is more behind, and of worse quality than ifollow?
-
Out of interest, it looks like the midweek games are back on the sky red button starting this week, will you be watching those? Because the time delay on those is even worse than ifollow, and the coverage is pretty poor too.

He's been here over 7 years now, probably just over two hands worth of good performances in that time He epitomises the venkys era to me. Slow, sluggish, no urgency, never fit for long periods, always puts internationals before the club who pays his wages. He's been laughing at us for years, we have to move on from players like this to progress. His performance yesterday was horrible, summed up by the two weakest crosses you have ever seen when free on the left in the oppositions penalty area in the first half, followed by that awful sliced "shot" in the second half. Get rid. -

I'm genuinely amazed that Evans gets in anyones side injuries or not The most non descript footballer we have. -
I thought they were much better than us, which I suppose was helped by a new manager bounce. They hit the bar, the post, headed over a practically open goal and Kaminski had to make 3 good saves. We had a Brereton shot that there keeper could have put his foot on to save. Disappointed with Buckley today, the way some on here go in about him you would think he was near Tugays level. Hopefully with Holtby and Trybull in there along with Rothwell to come back and Travis in the new year, he can go out and get a loan somewhere in Jan so he can play some meaningful games for somebody instead of the non descript u23 games here. Hopefully he will then come back next season ready to start and impact games for us.
-
Because he paid £5m for him.
-
Bennett isn't a good enough footballer for a side that wants to be in the top 6 of this division. Does that classify as hate now? Because that's all I have seen on here or on social media.
-
I think we both know the answer to that! He would probably still be stood on the penalty spot, his anticipation seems close to zero. On merit he shouldn't be in the side tomorrow, let's see what happens. I've been super critical of Mowbray over the last 12 months, but if he gets these deals over the line today then I think he has definitely earned another go at it, but anything lower than 6th will be a huge failure this season.
-
Its a good a first 15/16 players we have had at this level for a while if we get these signings over the line today, and on paper we should at least be looking at the top six. However my biggest concern is can Mowbray knit it all together? Having so many options available is dangerous for him as we have seen many times before, he'll mess around with that side for weeks until he settles on something. If he has finally learned, and keeps a mostly settled side and system (I know with the fixtures this year there be have to be the odd rotation) then I'm quietly confident we can do something. If Gallagher starts on the wing tomorrow though I'm afraid we'll be back to square one!
-
This will never happen.
-
That's exactly how I think the game will pan out. They will probably nick it on a set piece with there new manager bounce, wouldn't surprise me at all in this league.
-
Interestingly (I thought anyway) sky's website seems to have the next couple of rounds of midweek fixtures listed as live on there red button, something that I thought was paused until fans were allowed back in. Weren't the 7 midweek away games being shown for "free" a huge part of Waggot's selling pitch for the ST? I know not everyone has sky sports, but I reckon the vast majority of ST holders will do.

Dunn joins (Blackpool) (Barrow) Fleetwood
MarkBRFC replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Still winless is Dunny. -
I thought he started last season well too, until that debacle at Derby that he 'wasn't involved in" and he played like he was on the sauce ever since. Brilliant so far this season though, a 3 man midfield looks to suit him.

Ben Brereton 16 goals?! Sam Gallagher 12 goals?! Always knew that game was unrealistic but jeez.
