v Watford (h) 23/12/23

Aye, c20k gate considering Watford won’t fetch many would be excellent. Unfortunately such chirpers (usually very vocal on social media) just don’t understand that with only 9k ST holders you just aren’t going to get ‘sell outs’. 20,000 walk ons aren’t suddenly going to come out the woodwork for a mid season second division game, Christmas or not. Price STs at a sensible level if you want to see close to a ‘sell out’ for an initiative like this. -

Great stuff from all involved. Saturday 3pm with a potential big floating support to tap into as it’s Christmas weekend. Finally, finally the club does it for a game that makes sense instead of ridiculous choices like Reading on a red button random Tuesday night. Hallelujah 🙌 (Just shows what happens when fans get involved in the decision making ay!) -

I won’t hear any slagging off of the Blackburn Enders. The encyclopaedic knowledge contained in there of every footballer that has even driven past Burnley on the M65 in order to have a good boo and a rousing chorus related to sibling shagging is phenomenal 👏 -

So a last minute winner in a tight game would be unacceptable? -
How many H*ndred games at OT will be on a weekday afternoon we reckon?

For me it was always unfinished business, he was obviously building something both on and off the pitch. The players loved him. I think we’d have gone far in France 98 with him, alas not to be.
-
Think that was part of the reason Bristol City fans were so fumin’ when Pearson was potted, as he had to deal with the club getting shut of their high earners and relying on home grown players.

Standard Merce. If we’ve lost the previous game the sky has fallen in and we’ll also get well beat in the next. On the flip side, win the previous and we’ll also be thrashing whichever unlucky bunch get in our way next. Been his pattern since day 1 on here 😀 -
Every chance they will, such is the inherent anti-competition nature of parachute payments. But I suppose we used to say that about the likes of Norwich, as we are seeing eventually one too many horrendous PL seasons and the collection of overpaid, demotivated players you are left with catches up with you.

So… he’s not the new Pep then? https://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?style=2&f=2&t=73023

‘Dreadful ’ initial three months? We were sat second in the league after said months. -
Loves that armband does Trav, just watch him when he comes on as sub (even in the 90th minute or whenever), keeps tapping his arm until Hyam or SS hand it over. You’d need to chop his arm off to prise it off him 😁
-
The ‘aw shucks, didn’t expect little owd Burnley to be doing this well’ routine wore very thin.
-
Dingle article translation = It’s crap not being able to compete and losing every week, so we are looking forward to next season with our huge parachute payments when we get to win instead every week against sides that can’t compete.

Every year this happens. Have a look at any other club’s website around Christmas and in the new year, never seems to be an issue for them. China, Suez Canal, Macron, Covid have all been blamed on here for these seemingly unique annual logistics issues in BB2, absolutely nothing to do with poor stock management and procurement, of course.

Prime pompous Jimmy Hill there 😁

It was that second big injury he got at Newcastle in 1997 that changed his game entirely, totally lost his pace, turned into a target man after that. -

Great corrective that to when folk say ‘’well we had shit crowds in the 80s in this league, just how it is here without Jack”. Pretty much everybody had shit gates then, just like pretty much everybody’s gates are at a decades high now… with a very notable exception. Football crowds in this country are booming at all levels, from the PL through to non league, alas the mismanagement of this football club means we have somehow missed out entirely. -
By a few on here, not the wider fanbase. But that wasn’t the point being made, SS obviously didn’t need a full season to get up to speed.
-
Szmodics didn’t take a full season to get up to speed, after a slow start he hardly missed a minute post January and was a key player in the run in… honestly, the mental gymnastics some engage in on here 😁

No more international breaks until March. Hallelujah 🙌

To be fair I bet I could still list every player from every Rovers squad c1992-1998… the present Bournemouth squad, not so much.
