  1. Agreed. Performances aren’t declining, but poor recruitment, average players and some unbelievable bad luck has caught up with us.
  2. I think it’s both. The (almost never) coming back from going a goal down stat says it’s more than just ability.
  3. It happened with Bowyer too. Mentality not been right at this club for a decade now (wonder what the common denominator is).
  4. Certainly a strange phenomenon, massively disliked by a load on here, yet never a murmur against him at Ewood. No middle ground, which is odd as he’s a very middling kind of guy.
  5. He’s a decent manager, something those with Mowbray Derangement Syndrome won’t accept.
  6. Penny wise, pound foolish has been their mantra throughout.
  7. Shows the difference a *good* loan can do in a key area…
  8. I think people tend to be revisionist with managers as time passes (unless the likes of Ke*n, of course). The bloke had a lot of good qualities, but surely it can’t be argued that he was the right man for the job on a permanent basis, whereas JDT certainly is.
  9. Fair enough, thought we were just having a debate. You obviously rate GB more than I ever did/do. Game of opinions.
  10. St Andrews day is in Scotland, so perfectly possible. Problem you have is the date. If it’s a late Easter there’s already four bank holidays in just over a month at this time of year. Then we have just one between late May and Christmas.
  11. Bowyer revisionism now. Interesting. Nice bloke, did his best, but was learning his trade, ergo we wasted our last chance to get out the league relatively quickly. Should never have got the gig full time.
  12. Never been a back holiday, so ergo it’s never really got off the ground. Plus English/British identity was always very muddled (less so in recent years, but it’s still difficult to suddenly make a ‘day’ particularly matter to folk).
  13. End of the day Bowyer never got us out of mid table with one of the league’s biggest budgets in his early seasons. Not comparable to what JDT has to work with…
  14. I’d like to have seem JDT with Bowyer’s players…
  15. You’d get bugger all for him in the summer in the grand scheme of things. Surely be more in the club’s interest to keep him for at least another season. Bigger fee and who knows he could’ve helped us become a PL club. But as den says, if he wants to go, he’ll go, be it this summer or down the line.
  16. Brother. Yep, you can’t imagine Hedges would’ve been here otherwise.
  17. I’m sure you’ve said that about every game…
  18. Only a few on here obviously, but I honestly find it amazing that folk would actually want him sacked. First season, average budget, average players, been in the mix all season. He’s ‘a lot to learn’ to coin a phrase, and obviously deserves stick too, but to actually remove him from his post? Ridiculous stuff (from fans who should know better going off the age of some of them posting it).
  19. I’m clutching at straws a bit here like, we obviously will need to get a result at Millwall, but even with a win yesterday, the fact it’s so congested would still have probably meant we needed one down there regardless.
  20. I just don’t rate him very highly, average at most facets of the game. For me, you play your best players.
  21. Lane Ends? Couple of good micros next door and across the road from it too…
  22. Extra season ticket sales this season on the back of an attractive offer… their crowds increase substantially - not rocket science, is it.
  23. Has Pears made a load of ricks? No, not particularly, but is he as good a goalkeeper? Also, no, so why is our best goalkeeper not playing in a run in that could transform this football club in just a month’s time?
