  1. Been a big influx from the city of Liverpool into the surrounding areas in recent times. Southport’s another example.
  2. Make PNE/Boro/Villa 1pm KO and then they bring 4,000...
  3. The club won’t, always a much better payday is Boxing Day. Even the mighty Rochdale attracted one of our biggest gates of the season.
  4. Ut oh! Is that a horse I can hear galloping towards this thread? ?
  5. Like we saw in 1994, best attended WC ever, there is a sizeable minority that are fans. However, as you say the vast majority don’t have the foggiest idea about it.
  6. That article says Forest are also going to bring in Alan Hutton on a free from Villa. I presume he’ll still be receiving his 30k a week? FFP ay? Make no mistake, the Championship is transforming before our eyes. Lets hope our ‘sensible’ approach sees us as a PNE (yep aspiring to be like Preston, cheers Venky’s!), not a club in a perennial battle against returning to League 1...
  7. I know who does the printing of the programmes and we make very little, if any profit on them.
  8. Of course, but Waggott is fond of squeezing every penny (not that that’s a bad thing generally), so considering we have a piss poor product to start with, why not just scrap it entirely, may be the thinking...
  9. I presume any announcement will be at the last minute, just like the news that Radio Rovers had been shut down was added to the official website on the Friday afternoon before the first home game.
  10. 60k a week for John Terry, 50k for Micah Richards, 50k for Agbonlahor, 40k for Lansbury, 40k Jedinak, 40k James Chester, they were paying 40k a week of Snodgrass’ wages. Hutton 30k a week, Kodja 30k, they brought in Chris Samba. It goes on and on. An enormous squad with easily the biggest wage bill in the division. So yeah a ‘huge budget’.
  11. Looking at Michael Hector, he’s been on loan at 13 clubs and he’s not 26 yet.
  12. But by the end of his Bolton contract he’ll have spent a decade in the top 2 divisions Not sure the modern game is all it’s cracked up to be.
  13. Nice work if you can get it... Steve McManaman, Louis Saha and Dennis Wise will be on hand to carry out the draw which will take place in Ho Chi Minh City at 10.45am (UK time).
  14. On his signing interview (2:08) : ‘What can the fans expect from you ?’ ‘Tackles A few bookings Lead the team’ ?
  15. Saw on Twitter from one of their fans... ’you don’t play that amount of games at this level without being a decent player’ ?
  16. He had a good gig with talksport, yet they didn’t renew his contract. So, something obviously went on and acting unhinged on social media since isn’t going to get him another one.
  17. As he brought it it up. Of the new-ish pundits, I just don’t get Jenas, he’s is never off the TV and radio, total wet lettuce. Give me Chris Sutton anytime!
  18. Calling him a ‘Tom’. Appalling stuff. (not you our Tom!’) That’s him definitely done with UK broadcasters. Though he’s fine with the Russian coin.
  19. In the Barnes era everything was a bit woolly due to the Commonwealth, passports etc. Even Barnes himself wasn’t sure he was eligible: http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/48873
  20. He was there managing us on many an occasion.
  21. The club obviously doesn’t want to do it, so they chuck in the manager as a distraction. The Football League aren’t going to enforce a proper terms of reference, they just want to know it’s been done so they can add it to their spreadsheet. All a waste of time and I don’t see what added benefit it has from the bi-monthly fans forum.
  22. To be fair to our Scottish guest, from his brief spell here I thought Watt had bags of talent, he’s just never screwed his head on...
  23. Because it’s all about opinions? Not just ‘Rovers ra ra ra’, oops I mean ‘Eng-er-land; Eng-er-land’
  24. You’re right, one of those myths that’s lasted for years. He was born in Cardiff, both sides of his family are Welsh. He moved to Salford as a kid as his dad was playing rugby league for Swinton.
