  1. Middlesbrough are lucky that they have a hinterland to draw from with no league club competition. Indeed the whole north east of England has 3 league clubs. Teeside is similar in population to east Lancs, yet we have three League clubs on top of each other, plus Preston immediately to our west then around 9 clubs in a twenty/thirty mile radius to our south - 4 of them clubs with enormous fan bases. Old Lancashire being the heartland of the game and saturated with clubs isn’t optimal for growing gates from nowhere like sides like Middlesbrough can do.
  2. Sometimes you have to wonder if the ECB is actively trying to run down the county game...
  3. Liverpool have millions of fans in this country alone (yet never seem to get the glory hunter tag United fans get), not really a like for like comparison.
  4. If we make a decision to charge less than the competition due to the economic situation of the town of Blackburn, then can we expect to compete with the many city clubs that now make up the second tier? As an aside, I can imagine the percentage of our season ticket holders that reside in BB1 and BB2 have decreased somewhat this past decade or so, as demographic change has seen many fans move further afield, so we aren’t wholly reliant on the prosperity of the town (nor should we be if we want to be successful in the future).
  5. They do at the moment but despite being from one of the country’s largest conurbations they’ve struggled to muster 20,000 home fans in the PL for years.
  6. Last time we were promoted out of this league it contained the likes of - Grimsby, Gillingham, Tranmere, Walsall, Port Vale, Wimbledon, Stockport, Crewe. It’s a tough old division these days.
  7. Lampard to Derby? Certainly a departure from the usual managerial merry-go-round...
  8. Easy enough by train. The ground is near South Bermondsey overground station which is only a few minutes from London Bridge.
  9. Is that not an example of the infamous agent planted story - the ‘rule of 3’ ?
  10. I thought the atmosphere was better in there last season, throw in a few hundred extra singers and you’ve got a cracking end again. Not to be (though I do know that some DEnders have bought STs in there for next season).
  11. Think it’s a shame that there is this bizarre Blackburn/Darwen End rivalry for some folk, just imagine a packed BBurn End every week, but it is what it is, I suppose. Moving forward how are you/the club going to try and promote it, so it is more than a couple of hundred lads in there? Will there be banners, flags etc?
  12. Mowbray will be judged on his results like every other manager since day dot.
  13. Read that their ST holders could buy 6 tickets each, so plenty of families there you’d imagine.
  14. The Crystal Palace ultras or whatever they are called are probably the best known such group - they are based in a corner of their main home end - at the opposite side of the ground to the away support no less. Why is it that you are so opposed to the Blackburn End, as N01 and N05 for example, had plenty of room last season...
  15. If that’s the case won’t that will leave you with a very small area to create this zone before you start hitting existing ST holders?
  16. Is the end block that is usually netted off (apart from Oxford) going to be open too?
  17. It’s a message board with a few dozen regular posters, what other ‘motive’ could they possibly have?
  18. Always a daft statement, file it with ‘some fans enjoy/want us to lose’ Who on earth would spend their free time on a Rovers message board, some with a decade plus of posting if they didn’t have the club at heart?
  19. Since Waggott’s arrival, for me there has been a noticeable focus on the commercial side. Various new sponsors, 1875 Lounge, these events for local businesses, end of season award night etc. The club seems much more ‘normal’ in that regard than any other time since 2011.
  20. A message board is a modern version of discussions about your club in the pub, over the garden fence and so on. Managers, players, owners have always been pontificated about by fans, always will. As long as you ‘support the manager and team’ in the ground, why can’t folk ‘strenuously pass judgement’ on some obscure medium called brfcs.com?
  21. LT lifting quotes straight off Rovers.co.uk (without citing them) again.
  22. Didn’t Rowett recently sign a new contract at Derby?
  23. Very positive trip says Mogga... https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/may/tony-mowbray-qa-part-one/
