  1. Yes, the Oxford attendee is exactly who we need to be attracting on Sunday. But you wouldn’t be thanking said fans for ‘their support all season’. That wording has got some season ticket holders backs up, with some justification, as where is their ‘thanks’ for turning up every week, their loyalty and contributing financially to the club.
  2. Course they can win. Great idea to reduce prices, just badly worded to say ‘as a thank you for your support we’ve reduced prices’ A good percentage of those buying tickets won’t have been since Oxford.
  3. In an ideal world they would, of course, love it. However, we are such a stripped down operation these days it just makes me laugh/cry when they send a press release to the LT pre an 18k crowd talking about 'bumper crowd expected', 'parking problems', etc etc. Plus netting off whole blocks of stands for 'segregation' etc. etc. How did we ever cope in the PL?
  4. The EFL are putting the ‘game into disrepute’ just as much as Bolton.
  5. Putting to one side the fact they should’ve been on sale for weeks already, there will probably be a few thousand extra walk ons there on Sunday. Especially families. So, a great chance to have them on sale, a ST pack with every purchase/pick up. Ticket office open before and after the game etc etc. Plus, it’s the last time fans will be in full ‘Rovers mode’ for months. Don’t know why I’ve even bothered typing that.
  6. They were wearing that in ‘95 when Shearer tore them a new one.
  7. I'm glad Rovers saw sense and didn't allow the New Years Day and Easter Monday games to be shown too.
  8. The Blackburn End costs up to £27 (£30 on the day) because it is the equivalent price category to the Darwen End, Waggott's cash cow (well he thought so).
  9. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/april/lancashire-cup-final-confirmed/ The competition’s 121st final will take place at the LFA’s County Ground in Leyland on Tuesday May 7th, kick-off 7pm. This will be an all-ticket match, with both clubs allocated 1,000 tickets, which are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (over-65s & 16 and under). All Rovers tickets must be purchased in advance of the game from the Ewood Park ticket office (or by calling 01254 372000 or by visiting www.eticketing.co.uk/onerovers). Tickets will be on sale from 9am on Tuesday April 23rd until 12.30pm on Sunday May 5th in the following phases: Phase 1 – Rovers season ticket holders who are also 1875 Club members (April 23rd-April 30th) Phase 2 – Rovers season ticket holders (May 1st-May 5th)
  10. The 2019/20 season sequel to ‘Soldiers and Artists’ will be... ’Creativity and Camaraderie’ https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17603740.mowbray-on-what-he-wants-to-add-after-second-scouting-trip/
  11. I’m not saying that I personally think it is ‘expensive’, but it depends on what folk think is value. £500+ in the JW, I would wager is pushing it for some of our fans. It certainly isn’t ‘cheap’ like it was 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago when you could get in the Riverside for about £270. If you are missing 4/5 games, like many do for lots of reasons, plus the new invention of the red button, that £500+ becomes a fair chunk of change. Remember our fanbase isn’t just saddos like us, be they ‘negative’ brfcs-ers or ultra positive chadsters, where Rovers is an obsession. A lot of season ticket holders are merely there out of routine and take it or leave it outside a matchday, and price will be a factor for them, they are either season ticket holders or nothing - so the £27 a match ticket v £18-£20 per game season ticket comparison doesn’t come in to it, if they think £400- £500+ is too dear, they’ll just knock it on the head, usually for good.
  12. MK are trying to build up a fanbase and have a ground with lots of spare capacity. So are trying to be innovative. Compare and contrast.
  13. He's obviously looked at Preston's and wants us to get to their pricing as quick as possible.
  14. I'm imagining a few hundred from south Wales, some trek that for a 12.30 KO, and 6,000 or so walk ons, which is still double the usual number sold. £15 isn't THAT cheap, though £1 for under 18s and free for U12s may attract a good number of families.
  15. I'm not in favour of pitch invasions at all, but it was no surprise they stayed in their seats politely clapping at full time...
  16. Which many do with the red button coverage and odd other games they can’t make through the season. I imagine a few folk will be thinking on your lines this summer. Waggott is playing a very dangerous game here and we could well be back to the 8,000 or so ST holders we had under Coil.
  17. If they go up to around £400-£500 this summer then we will actually be heading towards the upper end .
  18. Behave Phil, they are posts relating to crowds. I’m responding to rumours from two posters, including the site owner. He can merge them into the Attendance thread (where Swansea was already being discussed) if he’s so inclined.
  19. Realism Phil. I know how the Rovers fanbase works and how price sensitive they are. You keep increasing prices with our fanbase and numbers fall - just like in the mid 2000s - and that was in the Premier League. I don’t know what a lot of folk’s limits are, but psychologically, I imagine £500+ in the JW upper and £400 in the BBEnd (two most popular areas of the ground) will lead to a fair few knocking it on the head - especially with red button and standard Sky coverage probably accounting for a third of matches.
  20. If prices go up, that will mean JW upper prices well past £400 and BBEnd prices not far off 400. Prices will have near doubled in 10 years and certainly won’t be ‘cheap’ - though plenty on social media will think so because they will cost twenty quid less than the Tom Finney stand.
  21. Considering nearly every other club has either frozen/reduced them and/or introduced more concessions, it would be par for the course here to see a rise. No chance of higher crowds next season if that’s the case (every chance we lose ST holders). Though it’s obvious Waggott has given up trying to increase bums on seats, he’s just happy to milk the core support and hope for big away followings.
  22. Have we ever played at night match on a Saturday?
  23. Perfectly clear that they are not regulators in any way. As JH said the other day, they are just competition organisers, though I imagine the Blackburn and Darwen Bowls league takes a tougher line...
