  1. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp352111wyxo.amp I almost had a heart attack, imagine The Smiths reforming too 🤔 I need a lie down….
  2. What are you doing on that site Hasta? Please don't infect this with that shite. Hope you've sanitised the PC 👍
  3. Stopped plenty at Elland Road last season or we'd probably be in league 1 right now, but he's not great, that I agree with.
  4. If we do sign Cantwell, it will be a major coup for a player who will be keen to prove himself again and get a move back to Premiership. A player with his experience for under £750k is an absolute steal, mark my words. Get it done.
  5. Oasis £150 to stand up - WTF Bet it sells out in minutes......
  6. As some have just mentioned, £600k for Cantwell is robbery, what a deal that is for a lad of his experience. I still think we struggle with his wages, unless the wage structure has been stretched for him!
  7. Who cares, the lad is better than what we have right now, I still can’t see us paying his wages…
  8. I watch Rangers regularly, the lads a good player and would improve this team. But his wages at Rangers are around £25k a week a mark I believe, that seems out of our structure by about £20k!
  9. I’m surprised we are anywhere near Cantwell to be honest, his wages seem beyond our means to me, but he’s desperate to leave Glasgow by all accounts. He’s a goal scoring midfield player with a bit of shithousery to his game. But he’s inconsistent and has lost his way somewhat North of the border. Id be very happy to see him in a Rovers shirt, on his day the best player at the club.
  10. He’s a shithouse of a player, winds the opposition up, I take it you’ve never seen much of him….
  11. He asked for a transfer, hasn’t downed tools, the manager has great respect for the lad but won’t play him as he wants a move. If he came to Ewood he would be our best player, we can only dream
  12. The lads quality, a Robbie Savage type but more ability, but his wages are beyond our reach, £25k+ a week. Can’t see it happening.
  13. Amen to that. Bollox to the ****s
  14. Weller is churning out tunes, but top tunes? Never, he’s like his own tribute band these days. As for Albarn, you’ve thrown that in to be a bit mischievous, Battle of Brit Pop all over again 🤣
  15. 🤣🤣🤣 Ashcroft is the best English songwriter of his generation in my opinion, Weller was a generation before and flirted with the title, but that left him after The Style Council, he's been bang average at best since, Noel was just behind Ashcroft for me with Albarn nowhere to be seen.
  16. It makes me physically sick to see these gapped teeth ****s on here, bring back the old regime, they’d have been exited stage right years ago and quite right to for all reasons I’ve highlighted previously. Anyway…..
  17. Probably my best ever England away trip. Thanks for the memories Sven.
  18. I'd be looking to offer Dunny a 1 week contract to captain the side this weekend and get the dingles foaming at the mouth at least. Over to you Waggott.
  19. Looks like Oasis are coming back next summer, seen them a few times, last one was at Heaton Park 2009. Be good to have a band with some bollox and great tunes to boot, new music wouldn't go a miss either.
  20. The way this has worked over the past couple of years is the manager tells the recruitment team the positions he needs to strengthen and they go and find the players, then Venkys remove funds. Maybe Eustace didn't get the memo when he arrived? Also, nothing wrong with signing players you've worked with or scouted at previous clubs, its part of the game and happens at all levels.
  21. Swathes of empty seats tells its own story, they go the pricing terribly wrong and they risk losing future tests if we can't fill those seats.
  22. I can tell you now, that lot are more worried about this game that we are, they're expected to win conformably with the money they've got sloshing around and the fancy wage bill. If we can't beat them, I hope we show some pride and passion for the shirt and maybe even kick seven bells out of a few of them! Minis vrs Ferraris as a hammered and humiliated dingle once said. burnley 1 Rovers 2
  23. Part of our last promotion winning team, he deserves the accolades, it’s not his fault we’ve been decimated by abhorrent owners. Have a word with yourself.
  24. NEWSPAPER HEADLINES 24 NOVEMBER 1973 WILLINGTON CUP FEVER Willington miss chance of an early lead! WILLINGTON 0 v BLACKBURN ROVERS 0 Having a tough run up to this game Willington were unbeaten in last 11 games helped by a gale-force wind, did most of the attacking in the early stages of their home FA Cup tie with Blackburn, and should have gone ahead in the sixth minute when Brian Newton put Holden through. But the home centre forward failed to control the ball with only the goalkeeper to beat. Teams: WILLINGTON: D ROXBY J SUDDES J FOSTER J PEARSON J FENWICK H MURRAY B NEWTONJ HUSSEY T HOLDEN D NEWTON T COCHRANE Sub B DIXON BLACKBURN ROVERS: JONES HEATON ARENTOFT GARBUTT WADDINGTON FAZACKERLEY NAPIER METCALFE ENDEAN PARKES FIELD Sub O'MARA Referee: Mr C E Seel (Carlisle) Linesmen: Mr A R Jorden Mr R Pallister (Mboro) Attendance 4500 Willington opened up on the attack on the left, where D. Newton's cross didn't reach the goalmouth because of the wind. When Blackburn moved forward a free kick by Arentoft went across the home goalmouth with Napier vainly trying to make contact. There was a thrill at the the other end where Holden found a gap, but he couldn't get his shot past Jones. Parkes put the ball into the home goalmouth and Roxby cleared, though under pressure from Napier. A quick switch saw Holden quickly descend on the Blackburn goal, but he put his shot wide. A well judged centre forced Heaton to concede a corner. Home pressure was building up and a strong shot by Cochrane was not far off target. a good move started by Suddas gave the Blackburn defence an uncomfortable moment, for Jones, at full length, could only push away Newton's cross and Heaton had to complete a hurried goalline clearance. A Foster free kick was headed out and met by Fenwick, who put his shot over the bar. The visiting defence was again in difficulty after another free kick taken by Foster, and a corner was conceded . The home goal was jeopardised when Murray allowed himself to be dispossessed by Field, who went forward with the ball and ultimaltely Endean forced the ball round the upright, with Roxby challenging. Another Foster free kick was capably dealt with by Jones. Another unproductive corner was gained by Willington when Heaton diverted a ball put into the goalmouth by Cochrane. It was prodominatly Willington on the attack, and a speculative ground shot by Capt Suddas went wide. Half-time: 0-0 Straight after the interval Blackburn descended on the home goal and Roxby had to quickly clear from Metcalfe. It was Willington's turn to be stretched in defence, and two corners were safely negotiated. Field set up a shot for Endean, which he sent harmlessly wide of the post. B Newton got Willington moving forward and the attack was sustained by Hussey, whose shot finished in the side netting. Clever play by Napier got Blackburn on the attack and a long range shot by Garbutt travelled fast past the post. A fine shot by Metcalfe was put over the bar by Roxby.
