v Stoke City (a) - 10/3/23
Gav replied to Sweaty Gussets's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Man Utd might disagree, but yes agreed TS. -
I’m convinced he’d make a good centre back with his defensive headers when we defend from corners.
-
I'm not having that, Brereton has looked disinterested for months, I'd have sold him in the summer and given him away to the highest bidder in Jan. Gallagher never gives less than 110%, his end product isn't anywhere near as good at Diaz, but his work ethic is second to non.
-
Sam Gallagher was tremendous again today, his work ethic is head and shoulders above every other player in blue n white. He doesn’t score enough goals, but his defensive abilities are integral to this side and he was colossal today tracking back and defending.
-
Shout out for the goal today. Classic counter attacking goal from Rovers, pace, passing and a great finish. Superb goal that deserved to win the game.

Fishing trip? They should have had 2 players sent off for very bad tackles nowhere near the ball. They’ve been a dirty side for a few years now and that manifested itself again today when they knew the game was up.
-
If you continue taking points off the teams around you only good things will come. That today is a tremendous result given the circumstances. Onwards and very much upwards.
-
Kick the bastards back.
-
Ref and linesman can’t see that, pathetic officials.
-
Exactly, possession alone doesn't win you games and my god we know all about that!
-
I’ll take that all day long, it’s not always about dominating the ball, especially against better footballing sides like Sheff Utd. JDT has his tactics spot on so far, but we need another goal as I can’t see this lot not scoring.
-
Good side this lot.
-
Brilliant City, improved massively in the past 10yrs.

Sad to learn that Tom Sizemore has died aged just 61, probably best known for Saving Private Ryan., but also stared in Heat and Blackhawk Down. I was fortunate enough to spend a hazy 5/6hrs with Tom in Vegas before Hatton v Mayweather, he was superb company, told some great stories and even had time to disappear with a couple of his "Cousins" for an hours entertainment back in his suite, but told the barman: "Keep the drinks coming and charge it to my room" RIP Tom.

Last seasons home game against Sheff Utd was one of the best performances of the season, we easily ran out 3-1 winners against a very good side. I'd take a draw today, but a win would be tremendous after our midweek exertion. Come on Rovers.
-
Amen 👍

If you went in church you'd spontaneously combust. Get them tickets bought, you're on a roll Jim.
-
Our group will be going, Kelham Island for Breaky. When are tickets on sale.
-
Never seen them Waco so can't comment 😉

Sheff United are the best side I've seen in Championship, they spanked us at Bramall Lane earlier in the season, we didn't get over half way for much of the game, but we had a cracking day out! I'm going for a low scoring draw 1-1 After this weeks exploits at Leicester, I'd take a draw now.
-
That would imply that actually give a shit......
-
That is around 2988 more than I thought we'd get! Hopefully they don't move it to Monday night at 6.26pm or Sunday morning at 3.30am.........
-
We got knocked out of both cups in the same year by both Sheffield clubs. The United game went to penalties at Bramall Lane and Waddle and Warhurst tore us apart at Ewood.
-
Went earlier in the season and they spanked us, we never got a kick, very good side. I’m also still traumatised by the loss in 91 or 92? Nicky Marker missed his penalty? All that said we are a better side now and this is winnable. When are we queuing for tickets? Is that still a thing 😂
