  1. And if Rovers were to do this you would be upsetting a large portion of the Rovers season ticket holder based. Do you really want to make Season ticket sales less? You can make the NO1 part of Blackburn End standing and the rest can be standing. Would they be a huge demand for standing area from STH and single match day buyers?
  2. I said I would be renewing for next season to rigger in a previous post. I would still renew even if they went up by that amount. Those are questions you should be sending to Steve Waggott, Iain Slivester and Lynsey Talbot? Maybe the Rovers Fan Forum could ask those questions for you. Why would it be Rovers fault for Blackpool not putting tickets on sale yet?
  3. If he got top 6 then I would give him a new contract, But if he doesn't get playoff place then as I said we need a new manager/head coach with new ideas, new training ground methods and good tactical plus we keep bringing through the good academy players we have here
  4. Attending Rovers games and being a Rovers season ticket holder is my main social activity with my best friend now. For what? for supporting the club that I have support all my live and will do through the good, the bad and the ugly times. I respect your point and for you being so honest on the forum even tho I disagree. I like doing away games but given that I work nights makes most away games unable to do sadly.
  5. I agreed and he pretty much admitted it wasn't good enough
  6. My decision to renew will not depend who is the manager seat or which players stay or not. I support the club and I will always renew my season ticket. Nothing beats being at Ewood Park on a match day for me.
  7. Langer is a head coach and not a director of cricket role which is mainly as Administrator role and getting the county set up right and benefitting the England cricket team whilst picking the next test head coach, odi/twnenty20 head coach and the chief selector role. Rob Key has loads of county cricket experience and knows the current problems with the current system in place. Marcus North is the current Durham director of cricket and seems to have done a good job there. I would be happy with Langer as Test head coach. Strauss was never going to sack Root and he will leave that decision for the new England director of cricket. I think Root time as captain has to ended and I think Stokes is the only candidate to take over I don't see any other candidate out there unless you go completely left field have pick an county captain with no Test match experience like Somerset Captain Tom Abell
  8. The search for the next England's director of cricket. Its appears that the candidates are Marcus North, Ed Smith, Rob Key, Tom Moody. Sky Sports pundit Rob Key emerges as a surprise contender for England's managing director role | Daily Mail Online I think Rob Key might just be ideal candidate for the role given his views that England need 2 separate head coaches for test matches and ODI/twenty20 matches, plus he wants to bring back the national selector role. Plus has a clear way how the game should be played and that Root should be replaced as Test Captain which I agree with now. Think we need a new captain like Ben Stokes who would very different captain to Root. Michael Vaughan's comments on Root's captaincy during the current test match https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/cricket/article-10645659/Sky-Sports-pundit-Rob-Key-emerges-surprise-contender-Englands-managing-director-role.html
  9. Looks like Preston are set to be take over by Chris Kirchner. He was interested in buying Derby earlier in the season. Also look like he will bring in former Man City CEO Garry Cook to run the club. Chris Kirchner reportedly 'close' to £40million Preston takeover (deepdaledigest.com) Chris Kirchner outlines ownership plans and management style as talks to buy Preston North End continue | Lancashire Evening Post (lep.co.uk)
  10. interesting debate and topic posted by @roversfan99. I would give Tony Mowbray a overall 7 for his time in charge. I don't blame for the relegation to league 1 and the blame for me should be lay at the door of Owen Coyle and the person who selected him to become Rovers manager, Tony Mowbray deserved huge credit for getting us promoted from league 1 at the first time of asking whilst we have seen clubs like Sunderland, Charlton, Leeds, Sheffield United struggled to get out of league 1 or currently have struggled to get out of league. I enjoyed the season and Mowbray did change his tactics and game plan after 2 games into the season. I also have enjoyed this season and the way we have played overall even tho in recent games and weeks we have struggled to win and score goals. I enjoyed the wins against Swansea and Cardiff cos of how we played and press from the front. Since going to 3 at the back I enjoyed the wins and how solid we have been at the back until recent weeks and games. I still think we need to go back to playing 4-2-3-1 and get Dack into that 10 role with either Brereton or Gallagher up front if we want a playoff place I was very disappointed and angry about Tony Mowbray failure to get us at least a playoff place last season given the backing he had in that season and the amount of players he had at his choice and disposal but I think that's makes him over think the game plan and tactics. Mowbray should have been replace last summer. The first 2 season back in Championship was good enough but maybe we should have done better at times and maybe get a playoff place His transfer record is a mixed one. Done brilliant with signings like Dack, Armstrong, Kaminski but poor ones like Gallagher when a centre defender should have been priority after the 1st season back in the championship. Still think he should have done this after we get promote and look to replace Mulgrew long term. His loan signings have been mixed with players like Antonsson, Reed, Tosin and Harwood-Bellis been good, but players like Palmer and Trybull have been poor ones Think he done good bringing in young players from academy like Travis, Buckley and Wharton to becoming key players for club and the future
  11. Can't say I am big fan of standing up every game to be honest. I sit in No2 of the Blackburn End and I enjoyed my view from my seat.
  12. Hamilton will start 16th for tomorrow grand prix after not being to qualify any faster. The car looks slow and well below his standards.
  13. I hope we do released them in April time and I can get its all sorted before the summer and paid for the season ticket. On another point, I was talking to 2 Blackpool fans at work on Thursday who told me that the Rovers tickets aren't even available to buy yet given that its only 2 weeks away. Which I thought was strange.
  14. How was he wrong? the game has been moved hasn't it. Maybe you need to look more into it and the question that need to be asked is would the Police requested it anyway for it to be moved cos of any Sky Request for the game to moved would need the Police to authorise it is my understanding. Maybe Sky wanted to show the game at Friday night or Saturday dinner time but Police refused it and wanted it moving to Monday night where it more managed to control the game, less Rovers fans going to the game and the Police would need less resources on that day.
  15. interesting list that and some interesting potential candidates on there like Robbie Neilson, Neil Critchley, Mark Robins, Gareth Ainsworth. I would like to see Shay Given coming in as GK coach in the summer will his international and club experience plus his coaching experience. Why would Pulis maybe any sort of improvement on Mowbray? what a mostly a shocking list. Only Robins and possible Edwards would be the only candidates I would look at. Maybe Bellamy could be option but depends whether he is over his mental health problems and the coaching staff he would have with him. I hope we look at other candidates that aren't with that agency Its been like that for over 12 months now. Can I asked you to explain why you think Rob Edwards could be interesting choice with a DoF in place? I've done some reading of articles about his coaching work and he has Forest Green Rovers at the top of the league 2 table. Would John Park be ideal DoF with him having done the role before. With Park in charge of Recruitment and Edwards has Head coach.
  16. I think its a very good point you are making. If we don't make top 6 and playoff place this season then we need a change of manager/head coach and a fresh person in change with new ideas, new training methods and tactical approach will be needed Thanks for sharing this week
  17. Its the Saudi Arabia grand prix this weekend and Qualifying in next hour. Its looks like its going very competitive for grand places throughout the field. Its a fair point you make about Hamilton but given there is 23 races this season They could still driver title championship challengers but with the possible of 3 teams challenging for for it will make more exciting and interesting this season.
  18. This is Police decision not a Sky Decision as I was told of work colleague who is PNE fan No surprised that police has moved it but puts a end to plans I had that day. Have to re arrange my plans for that day. Police will only have so many resources to police the day. As Ossydave has said Police won't want to manage St George day, a football match and the crowd that will around watching Tyson Fury fight on the day/night in Preston.
  19. I've heard the same info from PNE fan at work(I worked in Preston) was says it's at the police request and it's been moved.
  20. Very surprised that Shearer's header against Man Utd at Home in 1993/94 didn't make the list
  21. I was wondering that actually and have done several times this season as I would prefer us to actually play in Red and Back halves away kit to the Third kit of Yellow shirts
  22. Chris Sliverwood set to be name the new Sri Lanka head coach
  23. Damien Johnson was appointed Mowbray 2 and half seasons ago Why you take into the entire season not the small part of the season that suits your point. I understand the point you made thanks and I think you are wrong on it
  24. Left side midfielder/wing back any suggestions who this Berkovic type player is? Andy Bayes mentioned several times during yesterday game that Mowbray look at signing John Swift from Reading but couldn't afford his wages cos he is 30k a week at Reading. Is it any wonder why Reading are in a financial mess and get a points deduction this season
