January Transfer Window.
chaddyrovers replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I haven't listened to it yet but from people have said on here that is very good insight from Gregg Broughton and Rovers moving forward. BBD offers were far too low and not right for us to sell. The Fulham offer came far too late in and not good anyway. I still selling him now would have an impact on our promotion push and it willing its worth the risk in selling him and bringing in replacement but then you are relying on that player hitting the ground running straight away which is a risk also. no win situation at times Good work by JDT playing down expectations in the transfer market and what type of signings to expect. -

My response was nicely and polite to you We can't change the past and your post was focusing on that instead of the present and future which is what matters right now. Yes owners and Waggott have decided to bring in a new footballing management structure in Director of Football with head coach structure this summer which is the right structure for the club but also a plan to make us Sustainable Premier League club in the future. We gone for Director of football who endorsed the plan and how the club will go forward in the short term but also in medium and long term which is also important which the owners have been part of that decision maker and are willing to back the club. Then we gone for foreign coach who has had success in Sweden and in the Champions league by qualifying for the group stages plus his playing career where he had lots of success. We brought in head of recruitment who has plenty of experience in Football identification for the Welsh FA. I didn't suck you into anything or deliberate do anything to you. I always enjoy talking about Blackburn Rovers and football in general on here. -

Then maybe we shouldn't judge him on that without knowing the full circumstances of the reasons -

That's all I want to know and you have agree with me that Potter shouldn't be sack. Thanks. The Coyle situation is a very different one to the Potter situation and you should already know that before posting about Coyle or the other one you mentioned before yesterday. -

So what are these personal reasons why he has been missing games for then? I would sign him as I think JDT would bring the best out of him and get him back to previous form. what's your point here? please elaborate thanks -

I will give this listen lately tonight. Seems a good listen to what you are saying no thanks. I have gave my opinion on the topic of Rovers and how I think you forget the past and what has happen. Our new Footballing management people should be judge on what they do in this window and future windows not on the past or the owners. We have very different ways of looking at this point. -

Todd Bohely sacked alot more than Tuchel tho who were key parts of the footballing structure like Maria Granovskaia who ran the club and Pete Cech who was Director of football who he got rid off too quickly and should have kept in position until they new replacements were in. I would say the old Chelsea was trigger happy but we don't much about Bohely is like yet. -

Like I said that is the past and and not relevant to the current footballing management team in place at Rovers. I'm not talking CEO level but director of Football Gregg Broughton, head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson and head of recruitment Gus Williams who have been appointed in the last 6 months plus some new recruitment staff where decisions are made within the budget who to sign. -

would you sack Potter then right now? 19 games ago you appointed Potter who cost 20 million pounds and surely you back your judgement and why you appoint in the first place. -

How come Coventry need to drastically reduce their wage bill despite a new owner coming in? -

what are his personal issues? Cantwell for me right thing to do. You don't tell everyone your budget in public. Downplayed the budget is right. Keep prices low for us. agents don't over ask on personal terms -

I think its very good that Rovers are keeping everything tight lid on transfer info. Not great for us to discuss on here. I agree there and I think Cantwell would be massive hit here if we can get him back to his best. -

You are right about no evidence at the minute cos the transfer window hasn't finish yet or we haven't sign anyone. You need to wait until after the window and the summer before you want your evidence. The new recruitment team has been in place 3 months and already you want evidence before its even had a transfer window -

I don't think Chelsea will get top 4 but even if they don't I would stand by Potter and what their plan is for Chelsea. They were only going to be a season of transition or 2 there. New owners with different ideas, new DoF, new head coach and new boardroom. Its cost them 20 million to get Potter and his team in September -

Its not cos this is new footballing management structure and appointments made 7/8 months ago We talk about FFP time after time on here. So I not going to talk deeply about it now. Its been done to death on here. This Director of football, head coach, head of recruitment and recruitment haven't screwed up time after time so that is just plain wrong. You are going back to the past instead of looking at the footballing staff at the club who are at the first season at the club. Time to judge isn't now but after the window closes. We had all this during the summer when people after people were panicking about lack of signings. Allow them to bring in the signings this window. I have posted alot about my opinion Morton and he is improved the team this season. Hyam has been our best signing. I'm asking you look at players who have signed for clubs in championship and within the January transfer window? Very few. maybe a couple like Jamal Lowe who signed for QPR. I have said we need a striker, back up full back and creatively attacking midfielder. Centre midfield we are fine for me -

I don't you totally lack of patience and time you are willing to give managers and you would be hiring and sacking managers every other week base on results. Chelsea owner Todd Bohely sacked Tuchel cos he lost faith in him and problems behind the scenes. They appointed Potter who they paid 20 million pounds to get him and team. Potter has had 19 games in charge. You completely changed the club management and you would expect have a year or 2 transition between the club was like under previous owner to this owner and how he wants to run the club. Look at Arteta record at Arsenal with their league positions were they finished 8th in his first 2 season and 5th last season. Now this season they are top, have a good squad and team that understand how Arteta want to play now. -

The past is the past. Can't changed it. How have the owners under invest in this team when we have pushed the FFP boundaries most seasons? Like I said, People need to calm down and judge the window and signings after it closes. I would rather bring in the right signings and I hopefully we will but we need overreacting cos we don't know what is actually going on behind the scenes and I am pleased nothing is leaking much either. Hyam and Morton have improved the team, Brittain is a good signing despite the injuries and Szmodics has an impact games and scored goals and impacts some games. Hirst was a disappointed on his limited game time. Mola similar. Given all the any signings signed by Championship clubs which players do you think we should have signed? @JoeHgave a very good view of the January transfer window and how it works. He is right. -

I would back Potter for the rest of the season. You have just paid 20 million to bring him in and his staff. Plus signing some exciting young players plus a new Director of football. You need to give it time and patience. If they finished 10th at the end of the season I would still keep Potter on. You appointed him in September cos of thought he was the right man to take the club forward. Also factor in the injuries you got plus a number of young signings made recently.
