  1. So who would replace Armstrong with then? Any suggestions or just want to negative about a player who could be good signing here if we use him right and develop him. You wasn't a big fan of Armstrong playing up front before he did and you knock my suggestion back in December 2019 that we should make Armstrong our main striker and he would produce the goals. Look at how that went.
  2. If you want to continue to keep discussing Mowbray and his future daily then fair enough but please leave me out of it. I've made my feelings and opinions very clear about Mowbray and to a point I can't be anymore clear. But isn't stop going to stop discussing transfer stories and rumours in the correct thread. And also looking forward to getting back to Ewood Park and supporting and enjoying watching my team after the last 16 months.
  3. Yet again, You want to keep moaning about the manager staying but is the much point? Like I said I would happy with the squad with 4/5 signings we need plus who we replace Armstrong with. I suggested a player I would look to sign like Ben Osborn for the wide position we need to filled. I gave you 2 players yesterday who I would have signed if we haven't been embargo of Sonny Bradley and Ryan Woods. Bradley re-signed at Luton and Woods signed for Birmingham. If you want to not believe the club then thats your decision.
  4. He does pace and some tricky. Getting him as part of the deal could be sensible move by the club and management. If Yates is too expensive then maybe getting him might be sensible. He has scored goals against Chelsea and Manchester United. I'm thinking 12 to 15 million pounds for Armstrong and getting Obafemi would cut down how much Newcastle get and would allow us to reinvested in other players we need
  5. Well if my understand is correct that any players the age under 21 unless on loan at the club doesn't count towards the list, so players like JRC, Buckley, Brereton would count towards the match day squad count now. Players like Pike, Eastham wouldn't. But I think Butterworth and Carter would count the match day squad. So looking at the current squad I count 21 players that would be match day squad. Do players want to be waiting around for a contract? The kit issue isn't the club fault as other posters have said. Cos I trust the players we have and I see this as perfect opportunity to bring Carter, Pike, Eastham, Butterworth into the first team match day squad. I did a list of current squad and if we get in 4 or 5 players then I would be happy with that. You might not be but I would be, Who are these players you think we should have signed cos I said 2 of the players that have signed for new clubs or contracts at their club. Are they other players you think we should have signed? please name them?
  6. Michael Obafemi has scored 6 goals including 4 PL goals in 41 appearances(32 PL, 3 Efl trophy, 4 EFL league Cup and 2 FA CUP). One thing he does have pace. But is he the right replacement for Armstrong I ain't fat from convince https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michael-obafemi/profil/spieler/444208
  7. It's Crooke's account. The government relaxed the rules so accounts could be filed 3 months later and received no penalties due to the Covid Pandemic but the EFL didn't move their filling deadline from March to June for some reason I believe from what I have read I believe Buckley has quality to be regular starter here. But I don't know why such high numbers and you got to factor in the EFL 25 man squad rules which you haven't. It's Crooke twitter account
  8. One of Pears, Eastham and Stergiakis were going to miss out. Was Johnson's injury more of a game injury and do we know what he came off with? But why take a risk with any players who might have a slight injury problem in the first friendly game?
  9. Why do we need more than 6 centre midfielders if we are playing 4-3-3 formation? we had 9 centre midfielders last season on the books. Yes nine. Travis, Davenport, Buckley, Rothwell, Johnson, Holtby, Evans, Downing and Trybull. Can't keep stacking players up and blocking the path for Buckley and Davenport otherwise they will never get the experience they need. Every team selection should be based on form and tactics. Johansen would have been clever addition but if you want him and another then maybe we have sell Rothwell or loan Davenport out as we can't keep stacking players up plus we have stay within the 25 man squad limited. look at Rich Sharpe twitter account Did any club come out and say they were in embargo before the final decision was made by EFL? It wasn't proper embargo tho but until the club filed their accounts properly and the EFL can read them and make their final decision. Plus the EFL wanted to keep things private until the final decision was made by them. So the club couldn't comment until that final decision was made.
  10. So to any one who attend the game who stand out in either half? How did our young players play like Pike, Pickering, Carter, McBride, Butterworth?
  11. Have you seen the videos I posted in the pre season thread in the training camp? Both featured heavily in the clips. Haven't Dolan and Gallagher pick up slight knocks in the training camp? Surely it's right not to take a risk in the first pre season game? We have 4 keepers in the squad. So 2 were always going to miss out?
  12. thats where I have to disagree. I think we need a quality Defensive midfielder in and then I would be happy with our centre Midfield options
  13. I think I prefer Buckley and Travis at the minute but if Rothwell can gets best to his form of the 1st season then he would have to start. I would have like Ryan Woods for that role but he gone to Birmingham on a free transfer.
  14. Looks like the EFL embargo situation has stop Mowbray and Rovers from signing players that they would have liked given Rich Sharpe post match comments.
  15. I think we need a quality defensive midfielder in next to Travis if we are going to play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 then that would allow Travis to play his natural game for me
  16. Tony Mowbray explains Adam Armstrong absence from Blackburn Rovers friendly | Lancashire Telegraph
  17. Speedie was just before my time. But Butterworth seems to be of number 10 type of player who has skill and some pace but we need him to stay injury free if possible
  18. I am very surprised that you can't answered the first question given that you are complaining that we haven't made any signings so far but most of signings clubs have made I wouldn't have wanted here. But here is 2 players I think we should have look at Sonny Bradley and Ryan Woods. We need a quality defensive centre midfielder in this summer aswell as centre defender, left back and wide player. Apart from that I am happy with what we have, and replacement for Armstrong if he goes this summer. Here are some suggestions, for the wide role I would look at Ben Osborn or Luke Freeman from Sheffield United. For the Left back role I can see us going for Charlie Ogilvie as we have been linked for him for the last 18 months. How we replace Armstrong strengths in terms of Pace, movement, his quality finishing is going to massive challenge for the club and I would expect we have already a shortlist ready to put in place when we accept a bid. Who we will target I don't know. We have been linked to Jerry Yates from Blackpool who impress me in the league 1 playoff final. I would expect some overseas options on that shortlist. I would look at Cauley Woodrow from Barnsley as previously discuss with you. Maybe look at a loan move for young PL striker or look at signing someone like Hugill on loan from Norwich for a season. So you agree with me that we shouldn't either of them new deal. Well at least we agree on something. Some of those players will be replace by players like Pike for example for the right back spot to challenge Nyambe. or Butterworth for the 10 spot if we play 4-2-3-1. We have got rid of alot of the deadwood finally and we don't need 10 centre midfielders this season.
  19. Well I hope not. Do feel he has something to the first team squad this season if he can stay fit
  20. Yes Crooke said before. Is Dolan carry a knock according to.reports? If we were keeping Armstrong away from any risk of jeopardising a transfer why has he spent the full week in the training camp?
