Sorry if it's been covered in previous pages but I noticed last night Wright-Phillips was on the bench for City. I thought we loaned him last year with a view to signing him, anybody know what happened? I would assume loaning youth players to play youth football is rather unheard of.

The only person who can change this situation at this moment is Charlie Mulgrew, he can mutually terminate his contract with the club. His lack of football shows he isn't in the managers plans and with our financial plight it's obvious he wants him out of the door. The goals conceded last night summed up Mowbray demeanour now, half arsed! First goal not fully concentrating, second goal a lazy flick and the third you knew what was going to happen straight away. All so predictable. Nobody has a clue what the owners are going to do, I just hope its without Mowbray.

It reminds me very much of the Sunderland documentary that no matter what happens on the pitch, in the transfer market, in the boardroom, it doesn't matter one jot as we will send a bill to India that gets paid (I'm not convinced it particularly gets paid more saddled with debt!) and they can all still enjoy the gravy train. Nobody involved with Blackburn Rover's current set up feel ANY ill effect of what happens. Mowbray should really be looking down the barrel for the signings of Gallagher and Brereton before we even start on any list of playing deficiencies. Waggott should be looking down the barrel for the drop in season ticket holders and attendances, and general crowd unrest. These two people who are at the very top of the tree at Ewood are so comfortable, they don't have to worry what happens on or off the pitch and that really worries me.

We aren't stupid people, we all have bosses or lead in our day jobs and we all know when things go well the "team" self manages and everybody is happy. When things aren't going well the gaffer earns their money and finds a way of getting the best out of their team. Our gaffer seems completely incompetent when needing to rally the troops, the massive concern for me is they are ALL his troops!

We really do have some issue with getting into the Championship play offs, everytime we get anywhere near we throw in the worst possible performances!

Also what people seem to forget is as of a couple of years ago these loans would have been going to the Steve Dale's of Bury and Ken Anderson's of Bolton. I'm convinced there are still people like these chaps in the game (erm us?!?) who would divert those hardship loans well away from their clubs for self gain. That cheque from whoever could be the lifeline for an owner to recoup some cash and run.

Completely agree, in my humble opinion the whole of the EFL need to be back around a table tomorrow coming up with a plan for that very (probable) outcome. I don't actually think the Premier League will offer help, they need to steady their own leaking ship.

Completely agree with this, I also genuinely believe that some of these conversations have taken place even before COVID. The problem comes from the powerful few do not want to relinquish any inch of power they have over the others. Hell not so Liverpool tried to copyright the word Liverpool, as did Man Utd with United.

I have listened to most of the "price of football" podcasts which explains lots of the financials of football. The one or two seasons in the Premier League "and all its riches" does come across as a bit of an urban myth. It seems as soon as you get your Premier League cash, everybody is knocking at your door for bonuses, higher wages, infrastructure improvements, player purchase clauses costs and a whole host of things. It's a broken model I'm afraid. * That's also with the hope that owners who have blown £10's - £100 million dont want any of their cash back!!

When you read those figures there surely can't be a sport hemorrhaging money like the English game. Surely we aren't far from a break away big boys Euro/World League then wage and spending caps for the rest to protect the future. A future that come next season will highly likely start without a few clubs.

Looks like Sunderland may have been bought off the back of future parachute payments. It sums up the absolute mess that football is in at the moment. As others have said, well researched news content is chargeable these days and seen as a move from old school newspapers. The LT gain content from literally scouring Twitter and Facebook all day, then asking the picture owner (usually Lancs Police / Fire and Rescue) to use their picture. If all else fails, a good old google earth image will suffice! I do actually find Rich Sharpe's content pretty decent, certainly not £5 a month's worth though.

It's over, trust me it's over. In its current state this club pays out an extra £34 for every £100 of income how can any fan of any club expect anybody to fund that. Reading FC now hold the unenviable record for the league of paying well over £200 of every £100. The fans are no better off, the clubs are no better off. Clubs cannot afford the wages, clubs cannot expect the answer to be to find somebody new to come in and lose a load more cash, something must change.

Our friends down the road have admitted they face a £50m black hole if the season doesn't finish. £5m from home fixture lost revenue and £45m from TV. If that's how grim it is for a well run club (that isn't nice to say!), then how screwed are everybody else!! They may not be so quick to gloat soon.

Well another hideous set of financial results for the club. £18.2m loss for the year, wages at 134% of turnover, wages rose by over £5m. This sport is absolutely shot to pieces!

Massive disappointment all around, I still struggle to believe signing players is as hard as Mowbray makes out, surely anybody inside the club can see we have major problems with certain areas that don't ever seem to get improved. Another huge disappointment is that football has allowed itself into the pits that money is more important than actually playing the game, I look at some of our players here, and other clubs wanting to earn money out of whoring out their youth players to the highest bidders than the best for their development.

I’m sorry but how can anybody be in any way surprised that this is on the horizon, the management of the club have amassed a playing / coaching staff which costs 140 god damn % of income. Whilst amassing a hideous wage bill the club has a playing staff with one major asset (now injured) and a couple that could provide sticky plasters to prevent a FFP breach. Financially the writing is on the wall, I’m sorry but that is an absolute fact! Football has allowed clubs to get into these positions with rogue owners and they have absolutely no answers to it. We are on our own!

This is the huge failing for me, we could all see it and he could see it yet didn't act after saying he would. We have to watch that, and now weekly watch strikers playing on the wing and listen to him saying we can't carry our aging striker (the only one that can score) as he isn't mobile enough for our new system ... the system Mowbray chose to implement. Oh and we don't appear to be very good at carrying out said new system of play with or without Danny Graham.

That’s my point, Rodwell at Sunderland is my thought. We will never know for fact whether he did or didn’t refuse to play but if he did then surely that forms gross misconduct and with this as a test case could Sunderland have looked to sack.

Wonder if this starts the ball rolling for clubs being able to sack players that refuse to play or other in house discipline breaches.
