Like I said it’s your call.

You have decided or you would have switched them off and asked for donations. Sorry for the immediate reply - the notification intrusively popped up!
  3. It amazes me that it only takes a single win for some people to start their sanctimonious crap. We could lose the next four and win the fifth and the same thing would happen. It’s just bizarre.
  4. Today makes a huge difference. It’s another reset for Mowbray and we are now stuck with him until at least the end of the season (if there was ever any doubt). The next test will be what he does when Armstrong is “fit” again.

I’m sorry if you are genuinely struggling or alternatively I’m not sure why you are turning this into some kind of argument. The ads are shit (not your fault as I’ve already stated, it’s just a fact). You have decided to run the site with ads so the fact they pop up is of your making, (despite it apparently being some Google-related trigger). Having decided this you now see the “solution” as people paying a subscription to avoid them. Which is a pretty shitty move but hey it’s your site, it’s just that this experience reflects on the site. I don’t want to see the ads and I don’t want to pay a monthly subscription although I would be more willing to donate on an ad hoc basis. Maybe you could publish what the annual costs are? End of the day, you run the site so you can do whatever you want.

    I understood perfectly fine thanks.
  7. I too thought Trybull did well today. Better than expected tbf.
  8. Actually really enjoyed that game today. We looked like a different team. From one with a single focal point to a real team performance. Dolan has showed what he can offer (MoM today for me). Dack is a far better fulcrum and him and Arma are going to struggle to find common ground. When Dack was on top of his game pre-injury, Armstrong was out wide - which doesn’t suit Arma either. If we can get anything above £10m I say sell. Gallagher central is far better. All of the things we have been asking for but Mowbray has stuck to his way. As soon as he can he will bring Arma back and drop Dolan. A better manager would have had these lads in the play-offs this season. Mowbray out but a little less pressure off in terms of relegation and reasons to be hopeful for the future if we can upgrade the manager.
  9. These commentators are being a bit pathetic now. Having a pop at Rothwell for trying to play Dolan in, in a game we are winning, and berating Rothwell for not being more selfish like Armstrong, after the latter’s selfishness has been a contributing factor in six defeats in seven. “Why can’t they just enjoy the win?” Granted Millwall have been really poor but we have looked more like a team today than we have since the start of the season. It’s a team game, not an individual one.

We’ll all have a different take on it. I get the site has bills to pay but making the user experience worse seems an odd way to do it. As far as ads go they are also the most useless. I don’t even read them they are just unwanted noise akin to cookie notices.
  11. Might be the luckiest goal I’ve ever seen
  12. That was a great first half
  13. He really has been Mowbrayed that lad. Just a shame that while Armstrong is out he has picked a team (deliberately?) not to shine in his absence. Mowbray appears to care more about young Adam than BRFC.

If you go onto a site to consume content or to enjoy the fruits of someone else’s work then fair’s fair. On forums, the users are also the content creators so it isn’t the same. Unless we were all shareholders. Such a shame the internet has turned into an ad- or subscription-driven place when it’s origins were far more altruistic. Like most things I guess.
  15. Amazing! I honestly don’t believe it. Another excuse lined up. When’s Nyambe back again? Also a dreadful team picked. Lose today with no repercussions. We’ll probably win! FFS what a set up.
  16. I’m actually starting to think that it will be more like “I hope you lot are happy now”. They may wait to see who comes in first before letting go.
  17. To be fair, the San Siro is a pretty intimidating place to go at the best of times but they are challenging for the title... Wait, Millwall you say?
  18. I appreciate your tongue is firmly in your cheek when you say that but this is the same argument that has kept Mowbray and Bowyer bulletproof with a large section of fans for too long. It’s an unpopular opinion but, in my view, Armstrong is hugely overrated and occupies a “shoot on sight” role. I bet some players would kill for that privilege. Everybody else has to track back or they are dropped. This is Mowbray’s preferred approach though. We play with nine midfielders and one striker - he even buys strikers and plays them out wide to accommodate the so-called false nine role. I’m sure someone else could score a goal with every 8 shots. (Last season he got 1 in 6-7 and the season before 1 goal every 15th shot). The only thing Mowbray has done well in the Championship with Rovers is to turn Armstrong into someone the papers are talking about being worth £25m. But it’s all smoke and mirrors by giving Armstrong the freedom he used to give Dack, a ‘be greedy’ remit, and no other responsibilities. IMHO, if we ever want to get promoted we need a style of play that produces two 20-plus goal strikers not one. If anything Armstrong’s one-eyedness and profligacy contributes to that not happening.
  19. Armstrong will start every match this season, and finish top scorer and player of the season before leaving for an undisclosed fee in the Summer. Injury not withstanding.
  20. Or Tony’s Rovers... although sadly we are becoming quite consistent

    1) I’m not blaming you for how shit they look, just an observation. 2) Shit ads or paying to post comments isn’t a great choice. It wasn’t so long ago the site was ad free supported by donations. (Or maybe it was, is been a while). 3) You are right of course but Fb and Twitter do that in a way that doesn’t interfere with my use of their platform so it’s tolerable. Consequently they show me (mostly) useful ads. I guess that means these pop ups are here to stay then. Shame.

The new ad format is extremely intrusive, looks shit (are they designed in MS Paint?) and will put me off using the site. A sad sign of the times. I get you have running costs although I don’t have clue exactly how much to break even but no way am I paying to an online forum - especially as a content contributor. A potential death knell for Internet forums as long as Facebook and Twitter are free and have far less intrusive ads. Right now there are fewer and fewer reasons to follow the club and sadly this is another one.
  23. All very pertinent questions.
