  1. Why do we need it? Why is it the priority? You never say.
  2. This. After all that's happened people still trust them to do the right thing when the contrary evidence is right before their eyes viz state of the stadium and state of the pitch! Bonkers.
  3. We got really stiffed with him! How much were we paying for the privilege of putting in the transfer limelight? Mowbray assured us we could never possibly afford him, City wanted to keep him and had big hopes for him etc etc. All bullshit, in no time at all he'd signed for Fulham for £2M and is now in our division, 3 places above us!
  4. Well is said to be in the Ribble Valley! Does nobody but me wonder if Brockhall were sold they would keep the money and down grade the Academy? Really?
  5. Same here! I've watched it twice! The 2 guys are a bit cheesy though. 30+ version of Wham!
  6. Oh yes I do know that. My response is to the above post from Spartakfenni which has Venkys selling the academy to build a new one and giving the profits to the Club. Unless the new academy is a tin shed on a carpark I'm struggling to see where this immense profit lies. Apologies, I thought you were part of this conversation!
  7. Let's not sell it then! Common sense really.
  8. What I hope is that we at last bring some passion and pride back to our Cup crusade for once. For a club with a proud FA Cup record like our's, the years under Mowbray have been pitiful. No resting our key players, let's take our League form into the Cup campaign, go as far as we can. Take on a Premier league team and judge how competitive we are. Oh-----and earn some dosh along the way.
  9. Evidence of common sense at the top please.
  10. The everlasting journey is the point. Like a river(and Pink Floyd's last album) it just goes on and on. Nobody remembers why.
  11. Ah. I see. Venkys will sell Brockhall (Jack's last remaining legacy), build a new academy with new money and give the proceeds from the sale of Brockhall to BRFC! Is that want you want me to believe? If so, there is an historic bridge across the Thames in the centre of London which I own. I would be happy to sell it to you for half its real cost as I need the money urgently to finance a new venture. Cash only mind!
  12. I'm sure that's true but how does that apply here? You'll be telling me next that the trawlers chase the fish or whatever!
  13. I don't get this .Does anyone else? If you asked Rovers supporters "What does the club need most right now?" how many would reply "a new academy?"!! What we need now is promotion, so, owners, concentrate on doing what we need to achieve that and then think about infrastructure after that. Multi-millions on a new academy but can't find a few thousand quid to keep the likes of Rothwell and Lenihan? Illustrates to me that the owners have learned nothing at all in more than a decade. Yet apparently this announcements will set our collective hearts afluttering! Absolute load of bollocks. Just confirms how nuts they are.( If true of course.)
  14. We're in the top 6. Brereton scores every game, we're beating clubs above us, the loans are working out, we're keeping clean sheets and Pears is in goal! Please don't pinch me , I don't want to wake up!
  15. I blame the Union movement Gav. Its that "one out all out" mentality.
  16. Are we assuming that TM will get the money from a Brereton sale to strengthen the squad? I wouldn't be putting money on that.
  17. Steve Bronski of Bronski Beat d aged 61.
  18. Since the Issa brothers own it---how about an Azda!
  19. Souness was great for a while until he was absolutely awful. I opened a bottle of champagne when Newcastle came in for him.We were going down without a whimper at that point. Which leads me to---of all the mangers we've ever had I'd choose Mark Hughes. Didn't have much to spend but boy did he know what to do with it. Loved his time with us.
  20. Their margins are wafer thin.
  21. Roy started the rot which saw us relegated. Wasted so much of Jack's money. A bloody disaster!
  22. C'mn---which is it?
  23. Which means you should always aim to throw it in quick.
  24. I was making this exact same comparison myself a couple of days ago. We were storming the old Div 1, scoring for fun. Wouldn't pay Pickering what he was clearly worth and sold him to Everton. Knocked the stuffing out of the side and we slid down to 6th. 2 years later we were relegated. 30 years till we got back into that position.
