  1. That's still no excuse for over priced fare. Next time iv'e rushed to get to a game and as a human being suddenly strangely feel hungry and actually need to eat, perish the thought, i'll send out for a roast dinner instead then.
  2. It's cheap takeaway tat priced almost at restaurant prices but i suppose we'd struggle to find a football ground where this isn't the case. When you paid a couple of quid for fries and a brew from a burger van or kiosk at the back of an old terrace you didn't expect much. It was warm and wet and filled a gap for a while, or not depending on your constitution 🤣 Now when you're paying 6 quid or over for a brew and fries in the ground you are entitled to expect something nice. Not just crap with the pleasure of eating it on the concourse or your seat.
  3. A draw here would be very good although going there with that being the aim might be asking for trouble. Think we might fall short in this one as Tony goes back to over complicating things trying to stop the opposition. I've no over expectation in this as long as they give a good account of themselves. Cherries 2 Rovers 1
  4. Lets not forget Brereton was bought as an investment signing presumably for a quick turnaround. It was well documented at the time, high fee, lower wages 'the flex', lower risk as although expensive he was young and would develop (when he finally got chance that is). So if this was extra investment specifically chipped in by big Barry as some believe then it all comes down to if he wants his money back plus profit. If that's the case any big bid will be very tempting, do they really give a stuff about finishing 6th with him or 12th without ? I doubt it.
  5. Sadly i think this is the reason Park is now here as they knew there'd be a turnover of players in the next 6 months. They haven't got a specialist recruitment guy in just to sign loans and the odd cheapo. They were managing to do that ok themselves this fella imo is here to oversee another big turnover between now and next August.
  6. Shame it ended with him feeling like that he was a great player for us and will always be well thought of. There are two sides to all stories though and he didn't earn the nickname Le Brat for no reason you can bet.
  7. Fan re-engagement for long term gains versus just grab what you can to hit your predicted gate receipt forecast. Keeping yourself in your 300 grand a year job from season to season. If it is re-engagement you are after for long term growth and income you have to bite the bullet to get it going. We've had 2 great examples of it recently if the idiot will look beyond trying to prove his point he'd rather have less at more. £14.60 v Sheff U turning an 11/12k max gate on the back of a 0-7 embarrassment into a 17k one. Would have been more if they'd been arsed opening the top of the DE like they did on Sat. £30 v Preston and on the back of a good run of form and the team and manager showing some ambition we get 18k. How many returned for the Nob End game that came to the Sheff one on the discounted tickets and enjoyed it ? Quite a few i'd wager and it would have been more had they been more sensibly priced. So discounted tickets and good form do work hen the winds blowing in the right direction. One thing leads to another when the team and manager are stepping up to the plate.
  8. Ashley wasn't great but he wasn't that bad either they are painful whinging whining year in year out. All based on entitlement, we get 50k every week we deserve to win something. No more so than any other club and their loyal hardcore however big or small.
  9. Well it's local, winnable and hopefully cheap so a decent day out on the cards. I worry about these lot getting stuck into our lads though, dirty Wigan.
  10. Then shite till about March.
  11. How many are Rovers likely to be allocated for Hull ?
  12. He's been saying similar stuff every window i think that's just Nixon doing his bit for the 'new contract' cause. There was a piece in another paper the other morning beating the drum i think old Tone and his advisers are getting tetchy now. Personally i'd say you've had years you've spent money and used up budgets, you've got mates in and others you've wanted, you've talked top 6 you've talked journeys. You now clearly have a fiesty young team so finish top 8 or above with a view to pushing on again next season and there'll be an offer. If not thanks for the service but we need to explore other avenues. If it's getting the best out of him and he's getting the best out of the team then carry on as we are until the picture is a bit clearer. I fully expect some journo will be fictitiously linking him with another club somewhere soon.
  13. Yes i get where fans are coming from when they say winning breeds confidence whatever the game and all that. Also one of the best days out iv'e had was in the darkest times when we won at Arsenal. If you catch a big team just at the right time anything can happen and when we are in midtable and expect to stay there you've got to grab anything extra you can. For me though there is a different vibe about it this season and the cut and thrust of the championship seems to suit this young side. Don't want to get bogged down playing a string of lower sides in front of no fans then lose away at Boro or somewhere. I'd just prefer a one off biggie and a carefree day out where anything beyond a whooping is a bonus.
  14. A nice day big out at somewhere we haven't been for a while will do me. I know people have differing opinions on cup runs and so on but i'm more excited and interested in the league for the first time in years. This squad is to small and thin to be competing in the cup as well. A nice day out at Arsenal, Chelsea or Spuds would be good for them though and the fans. Man Yoo or Liverpool at home ? Nah thanks call me the grinch but all that does is give the legions of red plastic in East Lancs an opportunity to turn up and gloat. I wouldn't mind seeing how our young crop of players handled a dingle derby though !
  15. Who said the owners had offered to pay for it ?
  16. This lots hoolies are hilarious they are like 12 to 16 years old and arrive in groups large enough to fill a sink estate. They make Bolton look hard. I'm sure they'll be turning out at the New Den and Middlesborough in similar fashion 🤣
  17. That's is what makes a mockery of it they make all the fuss before and during the game then afterwards there's plenty potential for a free for all.
  18. It's standing up well this season compared to previous although the weather has been a bit more in keeping with its season recently. Whatever we saw about anybody else we have some great ground staff.
  19. I saw one of their toegrags looking for it get laid out yesterday and about 4 of them went down as well like skittles. Just about sums up their hardmen act they're nothing but scrotes, not condoning retaliation but a bit of justice was dished out at least.
  20. He's our modern day Andy Todd this lad it was evident yesterday that scum Ched Evans was out to rough him up and wind him up. He soon realized he was on a loser and after he had some dished back to him turned his attention to Van Hecke instead. What an absolute whopper he is but he's in good company at Preston.
  21. I'm not a Gally hater but the team recently has looked so much better without him starting. He does a job at times, not always the one most think he should be doing but nevertheless he usually leaves it all on the pitch. Walking straight back into the side as wide striker/winger or whatever it is shouldn't be happening at the min though.
  22. How about just normal match pricing for a game like PKE ? People chucking about cheap deals then others saying but you'd have to sell twice as many etc, why not just price it sensibly ? I know quite a few on both sides of the fence who snubbed it yesterday because of the price, they probably wouldn't have if it was normal. 15 quid one week, 20 quid another then 30 all for teams in the same division it's all bollocks just get some sense back into it. Thing is they say fan re-engagement but they aren't focused on that at all it's just about hitting pre set targets predicted income. Then they just juggle the price around in between. Got to start getting 11/12k per week back first then games like that priced sensibly turn into 16/17k home fans etc. Only way to really do it is get the ST prices really irresistible before you start messing with game by game prices.
  23. They all crawl out after a win like that, lose the next few and there'll be no sign. Take no notice cheap point scoring is the BRFCS virtue signalling. There are those who'll stick with Mowbray/Venkys whatever they do and those who just can't take to either. Everybody has their valid reasons but the majority just want to see the team and club doing well regardless. Some just cannot seem to accept that.
  24. I think that's a big part of what is driving this team it's all new to a lot of them. Some are more used to regular games in front of a few hundred at U23 level so they are grabbing this with both hands and loving it. It's great to see some lads fighting for the blue and white shirts and loving playing on the championship stage at Ewood and beyond. Considering some of the passengers, dollopers and disrespectful egos we've hand in the last ten years i'm fercking loving this team !
  25. Maybe the thought that he's leaving and the thought he thinks he's going, at the end of the season. has lead to the players playing with a bit more freedom and ferocity and he's standing back and letting them ? Just another train of thought but one worth considering.
