  1. The mighty Darwen beat Leeds on penalties and now play Rovers in the next round of the Cup. A change of sexes and go back two centuries and we's be getting ready for a full scale riot...
  2. I am being optimistic and telling you there are at least 2 January incomings. Also watch for attempts at loans to buy.
  3. JRC and Barnes plus Whitehall and Cirino who would have through but for...
  4. RIP el Tel. What a character and boss. The only non-Rovers game I have been to which was an absolute privilege to be at was England 4 Netherlands 1 in 1996- and my companions that night were all Dutch! As for the trough in England youngsters. How old are Cole Palmer, Saka and the oldest teenager in the world, Bellingham?
  5. Agree with this completely. Stoke were a big side and their subs looked even bigger on TV. In that crazy few minutes before Scott Wharton's injury, it looked like they were successfully bullying us- particularly Dolan, Moran and Tronstedt had already taken some robust treatment to put it mildly. No idea what JDT did with the lads in that brief huddle before Trav came on but t transformed the game and the out muscling by Stoke was nullified. Trav of course was stuck straight in physically and verbally. Ref was an interesting one, kept cards in his pocket at times things could have got out of hand through not booking players but thought he managed the game well overall. Don't often feel a ref's previous decision hasn't influenced the next one but that ref seemed to judge each incident purely on its own merits and played advantage well. Rovers strangling all Stoke forward momentum and Stoke's acceptance that they weren't going to do much more than go sideways in the central third made the game less incendiary than it might have been.
  6. Brum struggled against Sheffield Wednesday first half with the Owls repeatedly catching them in possession with a good press but found some form to prevail 2-1 second half and give Rooney his first win. Bacuna can really strike the ball well for Brum and scored a stunning volley from a defended corner. Under Eustace, this was a fixture I looked at a few weeks ago and thought we'd have to play really well to win given how well the bluenoses played at Ewood last season. But now.. Let's make sure of the 3 points but I am getting greedy and looking at this and the Sheffield Wednesday game which follows on Saturday as opportunities to close that goal difference gap. Rovers style of play should open up both these opponents. The chances will undoubtedly be made- I would give Leonard the start over Dolan as he is more likely to be in place to snap them up. Yesterday shortly before our second, Moran sent a peach of a pass across the box for a tap in but Dolan wasn't there even to pressurise the full back outside the back post let alone get in front of him.- Dolan is playing much better now but he is no poacher.
  7. What a player this lad is. Fabulous addition and I cannot wait for him to unleash the 30 yard screamer he has in his locker. Berger rugby tackled him before we were going to see it today.
  8. It is hard to compute but the dingles have combined Run away Championship Champions With £120m + transfer spend To produce A team with no spunk or spine And a 128 year old run of losses equalled And counting
  9. W8 d1 L8 ought to not be a cause for optimism but the way JDT has this squad set up, we have every right to feel we are on the up.
  10. We eventually either were going to stop creating chances or start taking them... finally. Great to see Sammy put away the most difficult of the three run throughs onto the Keeper. Really wasn't optimistic about this one but we handled the game so well. I would be apoplectic as a Stoke supporter having an advantage in height strength pace and experience all over the park and witnessing a semi-comatose unimaginative load of sideways and backwards passes. But I am not, just one very happy optimistic Rover tonight.
  11. Thanks- have done now and it works! Was nervous about losing my account registering all over again but it remembered me.
  12. I have heard there was extremely bad blood between Raya and Mowbray
  13. I will happily take the Rovers' finishing in the last 10 minutes again...
  14. From Bloomberg this morning... The Cephalopod Theory of Economic Development One of the more fascinating terms to emerge in recent months is the “octopus class” of India. It may sound a little slimy, but it’s positively apt: The mollusc’s ability to stretch its tentacles into nooks and crannies is applied to the relatively small group of people who are driving India’s dramatic growth in consumption — everything from pricey World Cup Cricket tickets to Royal Enfield motorcyles to Birkenstock footwear. Coined by Saurabh Mukherjea, the founder of Mumbai-based Marcellus Investment Managers, a portfolio advisory firm, it refers to the 200,000 families (about 1 million individuals) who have seen their wealth increase 16-fold over the last two decades.
  15. Ditto now. I sign in to the web site but then it logs me out when I click on Rovers TV. Just hoping the Match Centre is working OK v Stoke.
  16. Three dire England performances in a static row. Shame Malta missed that chance in the first minute.
  17. Two sides desperate for a season reset. On paper Stoke had a good summer transfer window so could be dangerous opponents. That said, we owe them a beating based on our very recent record against them.
  18. Working fine for me but only works using the Firefox browser. No new content been put up since the youngsters PSV match.
  19. Pretty easy to get to 100 with Mans u and c, Newcastle, Chelsea and Liverpool. 350 from the other 15 is impossible even if allowed to say donkey 25 times for the dingles.
  20. New Caledonia keeper saved 14 shots on target and dealt successfully with at least 10 corners- hero!
  21. Apparently and Pickering. Pears, Hyam, Gallagher unlikely. JRC, Hedges, Barnes et al impossible
  22. Having clobbered Everton and opened the door for other clubs to claim compensation from Everton, the PL has created a situation in which they will be in deep legal trouble not taking action against City and Chelsea if the charges are proven. City have engaged 1k per hour Lord Pannick to defend them and have spun out the investigation for 5 years and counting. I suspect the leaks and allegations of off the books bungs at Chelsea might be easier for the PL to prove and Chelsea could get hit first of the two, especially as it won't disrupt the title race if they take action now. I still think Rovers were subjected to some extremely nefarious doings under the tantric one and could have got clobbered. If the Indian investigation currently under way looking at the birthday party finds some other rumoured Balaji transactions, things might yet get interesting for Rovers from those days. Suffice to say, the Akron birthday party happened before the rumoured incidents so if they really did happen, the current investigation presumably would be poking around at the books, bank transfers and transactions in those crazy days we were still in the PL.
  23. And where are the Rao family other than the uppermost crust? Not a defense of them. Just pointing out reality. Sure there are the Ambanis and Tatas worth a multiple more but there aren't that many in India worth a few billion. The speed with which Indian society is changing is striking too. Obviously different parts at different paces but it is now unsafe to make sweeping generalisations like that.
  24. Well I thoroughly enjoyed watching last night's game. We were really competitive which I feared we wouldn't be after the early PSV goal, early injury to Harrison Wood and our rock bottom league position. PSV are different class up front and could have had far more than the 5 they got but equally they could be got at at the back and we could have scored more than our 3. Cannot see any of last night's group pushing for first team starts soon but they played a lot of neat competitive football much of the time and the JDT philosophy was clearly on view. And the two mid teenagers- Michalski in goal and Tyjon- are exceptionally promising if they can develop from where they are. i guess both outfits were affected by international call ups. The PSV number 10 really caught the eye.
  25. Swag's interview convinced me that is what we were getting. Of course we could - they are common in North and South America. https://napaway.com/
