It was that reference to illegal payments in respect of the annual cash injection to Rovers that made me sit up. Not even an "allegedly". As far as I am aware there have been no illegalities under Indian law in transferring the cash to VLL and onto Rovers. If in India they had been accounting for these transfers in inappropriate or illegal ways, this could be a completely different matter. The Akon/ Balaji Birthday party was well known at the time but this is the first reference to any flow of funds going through the UK or any business related to Rovers, never mind it costing 3m!

So many famous names in that game!

While we are busy rewriting history out of context, ffs hire a Polish minder put Lewandowski in a limo in Poland and drive him to the first station Big Sam can get to on Eurostar. And Jack tells his grasping ungrateful heirs to f-off and signs Zidane, Dugary and takes up Bobbie Baggio's agent's offer to sign for Rovers...

Courtesy of Rovers TV I have watched 100% of every game this season including the Carabao Cup games on replay. Leicester are better than us in most respects but even they would have found us a handful had they not got the breaks at all the best psychological moments and we hadn't passed up several chances. Other than that we have lost 5 other games we could just as easily have won and have not been bettered by any other side. As pointed out above, the Championship table at this time last season below the dingles and blades bore little relationship to the table after 46 games. Ipswich probably have enough points and momentum already to make the play offs but at some point they will get rumbled and their goals start to dry up. 2nd to 6th up for grabs. -
Huge day yesterday for Arsenal getting the win against City and everyone else drawing. Apart from Luton at home, City have some demanding fixtures coming up.

33 goals from 14 different scorers and JRC, Travis, Tronstad, Talalovic and every backline player yet to score. -

Rename England as Manchester Reserves -
Could be. Which tactics because I hadn't noticed? Watching Rovers TV, the shift in the statistics was dramatic.

Kane looking at the PL table this morning... Thought Spurs got lucky at Luton. Some top class TK saves too.

I fancied us to play the way we have been doing and give QPR a thrashing and so it turned out. Sinclair Armstrong looks a unit for them. Unlike Lyndon Dykes, there could be a player in him. Chair is struggling in a struggling side. Notable that we have run riot scoring goals with what could generously be described as experimental line ups - Walsall, Harrogate, Cardiff and now QPR. Who needs Diaz or recognised strikers?
-
Crikey, found this thread half way down page 3! Significant than in the half at Coventry and the full game v QPR, Rovers % of possession has dropped by about 10. Might be a coincidence but more likely that is the extent of the difference this lad makes even when he is not properly into his stride yet.

Rovers are not only top of the Championship but this is some goal! -
Involuntarily laughing in the cafe and everyone looking at me on reading that one. Hope it doesn't come back to haunt me but JDT has more than established his credentials in England and a top 5 league job is coming his way- still possible with Rovers next season.

Just watched all the PL games yesterday either as 3 games live including Everton v Luton or extended highlights. I have seen nothing that would give a Burnley supporter any reason to think they have much realistic chance of staying up this season beyond the other £100m+ transfer boys Bournemouth imploding and Everton's abysmal home form. Had the dingles accepted switching the Luton game to Turf Moor at the start of the season they could have reasonably expected to have won it. As it is they can reasonably expect to lose at Kenilworth Road- talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth. There are just too many mistakes in the dingles and Sheffield United and Luton are now at least as likely to get their games together as Burnley are.

Sigurdsson has shown more of a striker's instinct finishing his two goals from inside the 6 yard box in two games than Gally has since he came as a loanee. Surely push him forward ahead of Moran Szmodics and Markanday? -
The impression I am getting is that it isn't just the tiny vocal minority but the whole fan base now has zero confidence in SWAG. The last six months have been an object lesson in how not to communicate with your customers. He has not only misjudged how and when to speak but has become a laughing stock meme when he has to the extent JDT made the bus a running joke for at least a couple of months. His inability to communicate reasons for decisions and then produce risible unconvincing rationales when he attempts have destroyed his credibility. Marketing to the fans is a case study in failure. Every CEO always has a massive backwards management job with the shareholders but the total absence of the occasional cuddly word for SWAG from Madam throughout his how many years -7? suggests he is failing in that direction also to the enormous detriment of the club. I know how difficult it is to tell someone they are failing to their face but I think it needs doing on 31 October.

I am now worried the crowd might turn against Pears if he has a howler against Leicester. I am certain Hyam's downturn in form is because of Pears undermining his confidence in how and where everything is behind him. -
@DalglishPaul Staggering stats. 97% of former cat 1 academy players now aged 21 to 26 never made an EPL appearance. 70% weren't handed a pro contract at an EPL or EFL club. And only 1 in 10 went on to make more than 20 league appearances in the top four tiers of English football.
