The timing of Venkys arrival and our demise couldn't have been worse. Hanging on for another year would have seen us get a larger portion of the £3.018 billion, up from £1.782 billion on the previous deal which expired in 2013. Another reason to detest the owners. https://www.sportingfree.com/football/history-of-premier-league-uk-tv-rights-deals/

It's time this myth was put to bed. I was there and there was absolutely no booing. There was a cheer as the numbers went up and I still don't know if it was for him going off or the player coming on.
-
What scenarios have I painted? You used the word fickle as you say it epitomises some of our fans who criticised Brereton but your continual criticism of Mowbray and Waggott is not fickle. Can you not see any difference? My point is anybody can be criticised as they are in the public eye. Providing it doesn't get personal that is.
-
So anybody who criticises Brereton is fickle but criticising the owners, Mowbray or Waggott is allowed. I took humbrage with your description of fans as fickle for criticising Brereton but you can slate the others with impunity it seems. That in my book is double standards.
-
Does that fickleness apply to supporters who are critical of Mowbray and Waggott? In your quest for the moral high ground you are guilty of double standards.
-
Wow. Even Bradley Dack criticised his first three years on the video. That isn't words on a message board seen by a few hundred, it's gone out to millions of people. I criticised him and feel no shame whatsoever.

Excellent post.

The owners should get interim financial reports during each year but still allow us to spend up to 187% of our income on wages. I really don't understand why some think Venkys are exempt from the P & S fiasco.
-
That hits the nail firmly on the head. If the huge overspending happened once and they put measures in place to stop it happening again after the first time I could support Rev's view but this has happened in every year of their tenure. It's bizarre to blame anybody but them. If course Mowbray and the others played their part but the buck stops with them, the owners. Or can we go back to the apologists default position - they were badly advised.
-
From the carrotts being dangled by some posters it appears that Venkys are going nowhere but there will be changes to the management stucture. Again hypothesising but the only assumption I can make is that Waggott and Mowbray will be amongst the ones to go. Now how ridiculous and unprofessional is it that this information has been passed on to supporters? If it's correct it's another example of how poor our owners are sums up the last eleven years. Again I stress that these are my assumptions.

January Transfer window 2022

It was said on here that we are paying £10k to Leeds for Poveda. I don't know the accuracy of this but the lowest paid player at Leeds is a reputed £17k. -

This is an interesting article. Assuming it includes players loaned out then we could be contributing a significant amount for our loanees. Brightons lowest paid player is on £10k per week, Leeds lowest on £17k and Liverpools on £9k. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-dani-alves-barcelona-25467717 -
Hopefully there is some recourse for Wycombe in the whole Derby farce. The EFL have a lot to answer for in my view as Derbys misdemeanours are historical and could have been dealt with sooner. https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-wycombe-bill-kirchner-takeover-6112331

It's probably a bit early but the EFL have announced that, because of the World Cup next season the competitions will start on July 30th and effectively be suspended for a month from November 12th to December 10th for Championship clubs. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2021/november/15/efl-announces-2022-23-dates/

Attendances: A cause for concern
arbitro replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
And the reason Sheff Utd sold that amount was simply did to the price. They would normally have brought no more than 2-2500. I have spoken to a few Nobbers who won't be coming simply because of the price. Whatever happened to the reciprocal agreements we had with the likes of Wigan and Bolton where cheap tickets were available for the home and away games? Lets not forget it's due to a lot of Waggotts inadequacies that he has to rinse the supporters. -
That is embarrassing. It's barely a foul I honestly don't know what the referee and VAR could have seen to warrant a red card.

Of more interest to me will be if Mowbray is given any money to spend. That will be a real indicator as to whether he gets a new deal or not. My money is on the former. -

Dead right Lenny. My favourite is Faz who, if I remember correctly never kissed the badge. These Johnny come latelys can't hold a candle to some of our 70's and 80's heroes. -
I can still see Anderson screwing his eyes up to try and generate some moisture. What a twat.

Here is the link if anybody can be arsed. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12463810/steve-kean-interview-former-blackburn-boss-on-life-in-the-pressure-cooker-there-and-finding-success-in-brunei It appears he still has friends with some sway at Sky. I'm so glad I cancelled my sports subscription when I see that snake given air time.

Premier League season 21/22
arbitro replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It's a simple question for me. Is Howe any better than Bruce? My view is no particularly if the need to scrap. Howe is one of the noveau managers who want their teams to play total football. But you can't weave without weft. -
Weren't Kamy and Glen Mullan threatened by some people for digging around? Their investigations clearly had somebody worried as to what they might find.
-
In fairness the three you mention have had six promotions to the Premier League. In the thirty years of the PL that means that the three are responsible for 20% of the promotions. I accept that they aren't everybody's cup of tea but their records are there to be seen.

Absolutely right Matty and that says more about Waggott and his desire for populism than anything else. I'm sure the players will be pleased to know he was discussing their futures to what are effectively strangers.
