  1. The irony of that would be the criticism Mowbray usually gets is when he’s unadventurous or negative.
  2. I’ve done myself no favours watching archive footage of when we had decent footballers at the club (even 2 different stints in this division). That looks a grim xi.
  3. De Chambeau has averaged 345 off the tee this week. He’s carrying it 330.
  4. Off work this coming week so looking to fill my boots whilst avoiding home duties. So having not played this year decided blow the cobwebs off this morning. ?. Since I was a junior I’ve hit a long ball off the tee but today that just meant heading into the wilderness diagonally.
  5. I went a few years ago. It’s bordering on a bit of a dump internally, but its definitely worth a visit as an iconic ground. Weirdly despite Milan having so much football history, didn’t see a shirt until 50 yards from the ground. All in all decent long weekend Milan fairly generic city but short train ride to the lakes and almost guaranteed there’s a game at the san Siro.
  6. Naturally some of my most treasured possessions come from 25 years ago. Or as it has been referred to recently “can we put some of that crap in the garage” ?
  7. I was 12 and went to Anfield with my dad. They could only get 2 tickets and unbeknownst to me at the time my grandpa said he’d rather I went than him. Glad he made that sacrifice. My main memory afterwards were how emotional all the “grown ups” were. As a young lad probably didn’t really appreciate the miracle it was. Even at that age probably been to Wembley 4 times including that ridiculous 45 minute job. When we got back to Blackburn went to my grandparents house and she’d decked the house in flags and bunting. Gran was giving me champagne and my mum was saying as his mum I’m saying he can’t drink alcohol and my gran saying as your mum I say he can. Can’t remember who won. Perhaps gran did after all. ? ? Think my old man then went to the woodlands where I’m sure he said some of the players came afterwards. Might be wrong.
  8. We’ll bottle it even in a virtual game.
  9. I’d go with the palace game. Also the 1-1 vs West Ham that was seemingly the result that deemed Kean good enough to get the managers job. A hefty defeat there and who knows what might have been.
  10. In fact during this isolation I’ve been rereading the Mike Jackman Blackburn Rovers the complete record. It ends season 2008/09. If there’s another one from then to the present day it may as well be sold in the horror section.
  11. Yeah. That’s why I feel sorry for the young fans of the last decade. Genuinely trying to think of highlights during the Venkys reign. For me: - Kean leaving. (But they still never actually sacked the lying prick.)Celebrated that like a trophy win - Promotion from league one. (In a fighting over the crumbs kind of way). - Someone hitting one of the Venkys entourage with a snowball. I think some might include beating Utd away or staying up at moleneux but on both occasions I personally felt a bit sick as knew the porcine toad would continue to fuck us over long term (as ultimately happened). Cant even think of a great cup win. Did we beat Arsenal maybe. I know we “upset” the likes of stoke and Swansea but meh.
  12. One with his left, one with his right and a header. 9 mins.
  13. Where was that from? Really annoyed me that. He’s no idea what went on before he arrived. But any idiot can see mid table premier league team before owners arrived to mid table championship (as an improvement) isn’t great. He probably couldn’t even point to where Blackburn was on a map before he got on board the gravy train
  14. I thought newell was decent enough for us. Sure let’s saux has his reasons. But in my opinion for all we quickly signed better players I think his signing showed the fans and the footballing world that Jack meant business. Most expensive player to go to the 2nd tier at the time I think. In his subsequent years as a manager he showed himself to be a man of integrity by shining a light on what we all know about football that it’s a dirty corrupt business run by criminals in suits. As a result he became a football pariah.
  15. As a teenager I thought Phil Jones would go on to captain England for a decade. Arguably a career that hit its peak at 17-19 years old
  16. Patrick Andersson. Ordinary player for us briefly who went on to play for Bayern and Barcelona.
  17. If taking David James as the benchmark of top 10 all time prem keepers. I think keepers that were better than him omitted from the list are brad, jasskelinen, southall, Schwartzer, Howard, martyn, flowers. Literally off the top of my head. Rovers, Bolton, Boro, even Leeds and Everton aren’t really the clubs they’re interested in considering Allison and Ederson might ultimately be judged as top all time keepers but I could keep goal for Liverpool and Citeh in a deckchair such is their dominance currently.
  18. All time best premier league keepers. What a load of bollocks that list is. Classic sports media unless you played predominantly for a big club you’re not even considered. Jaaskelainen better than most of those. Allison has only played a season or two! How's he included. And ederson for that matter.
  19. Friedel berg nelsen hendry le saux ripley tugay dunn duff shearer bellamy Subs: flowers samba salgado sherwood Pedersen jansen mccarthy
  20. If people without underlying health issues or those at real risk are afraid to put their hooter out of the front door because of the hype when they eventually resurface they might find there’s bugger all left open.
  21. If you’re high risk self isolate. Fine. If you want to build a hermetically sealed room in your basement with 20,000 toilet rolls and 10 tonnes of pasta. Fine. If you want to hibernate for 6 months until you feel it’s safe to come out. Fine. But I shall be going about my normal life with a slightly more vigilant effort in terms of hand hygiene, etc.
  22. I just think the whole thing is bollocks. All sport pretty much cancelled until April do they really think it’s going to be any better by then. Only 10 have died here so if those low rates are replicated in April they've set a precedent. What if schools and work places follow life just grinds to a halt. The measures to try to prevent it are worse than the disease. The authorities just want to be seen to be doing something regardless of the consequences. This is just mass hysteria and mass panicking fuelled by the overzealous media who are loving it. You’d think there was some sort of zombie apocalypse going on. Pathetic
  23. This is all getting a bit silly now. For everything that’s happened - basically killing the economy I would expect 100000 dead by now
  24. Build up oppo ✅ Casually remind people of our injuries ✅ Blames ref ❌ But if I’m not mistaken he’s taken some personal accountability. Wonders never cease he’s slipping.
