  1. Past hour
  2. It seems quite clear that we're no longer prepared to pay the going rate for established Championship players either in terms of transfer fees or wages. It really is as simple as that and is only going to go one way. I've no idea how anyone can call any of the players greedy or expect any of the slightly better ones to extend their stays here under those circumstances.
  3. I don't know about anyone else but I don't see losing Brittain as a big deal. Id say hes average at best. Apart from crossing a football hes not exactly been outstanding. Anything between 3-5 mill would be good business I think. Hes not blessed with pace and hes not exactly the best defender. I've watched many occasions him get his pants pulled down. Id love to see duru stay fit and get a go, loads of pace, and whenever he did play he did ok, I know it wasn't many mins for us but theres a player there. Id also say there are other positions that are worse to lose.
  4. 'We've got a little fat guy who'll turn him inside out'. Classic Cloughie quote in reference to Robertson.
  5. With 2 years left on his deal? Thats a long time to be on peanuts unless the deal he was offered was not much more. Your figures are obviously totally hypothetical but do you think any other wide player in the division who plays every week is on Β£6k? I suspect very few if any.
  6. Yes. Overpromotion, arrogance......and our old friend, mendacity. He is a whopper!
  7. Have we moved on? We are all still talking about it. And the club still has a massive hole in the position where he played. Yes, I am sure he, like Brittain, Tronstad, Travis all are just being individually unrealistically greedy.
  8. Travis said to the fans on Saturday he was still waiting on a contract offer. Which one is telling porkies - Travis or VI?
  9. Question for anyone that doesn't rate Dolan, or rates him as an average Championship player - if he was on a 3 year deal with, lets say, Norwich, how much do you think it would take to buy him?
  10. Ismael paving the way for Travis and Tronstad to leave. His demeanour in the BBC Lancashire clip seemed frosty but hard to tell if hes already getting pissed off as he seems to just be like that all the time. People will jump to the defence of the club by saying we moan when we let players run their contracts down and moan when we sell. To me, the issue wouldnt be selling them. Its again, how has it got to this? Why werent contracts offered earlier? Why do so many people want to go elsewhere?
  11. That's what I mean I bet their basic ayof thinking led them to us.
  12. Ok, if you want to be pedantic, I don't believe he was ever made a REALISTIC offer of a new contract back then otherwise he would undoubtedly have signed it. Just like I don't believe he's been made an offer which reflects anything like his true worth now. Although of course now, he'll have a lot more options having been allowed to run his contract down and can afford to be a bit more choosy.
  13. Enshitification..... Best word yet to describe what has happened to the 4 major team sports in the US, as well as the 4 slams in tennis, golf's 4 majors & a slew of legacy Olympic events. The list is fucking endless & don't think they won't try to do it with proper football as well.
  14. More than likely they're getting both.
  15. But you said he wasn’t offered one and you don’t believe Broughton
  16. Absolutely buzzing for the fallout from this one. "It's going to be an exciting summer" Our 3 best players at the club leave at the end of the season, probably realistically leave this summer. Little to no investment in the club, and various failed transfers. Women's team disbanded (a Rovers Academy women has scored in every game this Euros so far) Need around 8 new signings currently (that's excluding Brittains departure) Gestede saying "any sales we make won't impact the budget" what is the point and what sort of fucked up plan is that? Category 1 academy (no confirmation yet as to whether we have retained that for this season - needs checking. Pasha still in post, get confirmation that he is the CEO, there's absolutely zero chance he's a COO (given the job title of the CEO leaked there's no chance that's a CEO job) Waggott was shit at his job (but why the sudden exit) No friendly organised the week before the season starts? Companies house lack of update (breach) Yasir - commercial targets and retention? What's his actual role, various people there's been zero attempt to retain supporters. Why isn't he doing his job right? Or is that not his remit? What's he targeted on? What does he see success as? Currently I see zero success. Football kits - 150th anniversary, teasing badges, lost engagement with people that actually knew the history of Rovers, it's a flop and cheap, why didn't they engage the people who actually knew the history? (Is the Maltese logo actually relevant to rovers) That's just a list off the top of my head - @K-Hod @glen9mullan @Miller11
  17. What is becoming more and more evident is the owners view Rovers as a line on a P&L (and have for some time). Pasha and Gestede's job is to make that line look better. Fans do not fit into that equation. They do not believe we can fundamentally impact profits (decline in season tickets makes v little difference so not much incentive for them to increase them). The total lack of commercial capability or strategy further illustrates they don't see that as a worthwhile revenue stream. Ultimately: 1. Money in is from transfers, TV rights and through the league, (they think the academy but this model is broken) 2. Money out: wages, transfer fees, 'running' costs, Wages, transfer fees and running costs (including women's team) are controllable, hence all three being slashed. Running costs they fund to the minimum. Grim times with us, the fans, being held in utter contempt and apathy.
  18. I'm not bothered about Dolan leaving at all. Very average championship player. The real issues it does show though is that no player with any ambition or options wants to stay at the club and the replacement will be cheap/free and likely a downgrade. We haven't signed anyone yet that improves our first 11 from last season. In fact, we've lost/losing our 2 best defenders - Batth and Brittain. On the flip side, we've often not added to the squad at all by this point so at least we're quicker out of the blocks this year.
  19. No, because who would risk leaving an eye watering amount of money on the table like that? If he was ever offered anything it would have been for a nominal increase on his existing deal and not even worth considering. But at least then the Club would have been able to change the narrative and pin the blame on the player.
  20. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25310915.blackburn-rovers-boss-hint-travis-tronstad-contracts/ Really refreshing how honest and open VI is
  21. If Boro go for the Chelsea lad and Britain wants to go Derby I would play him for a full season in the reserves and take the loss
  22. Virgin media Sky Sports app goes down this morning with major outage. Me, and countless others trying log on and watch at work left frustrated. People going mental on social media demanding refunds, saying they're cancelling subscription. πŸ˜‚ What a day for it to happen with such a thrilling end. Radio 5X it is then.
  23. So what your saying here is I don’t believe it because I don’t want to it doesn’t suit my argument
  24. Did you bet on relegation last year the certain outcome?
