Alas not, though he’s probably a distant relation. Whiteside a very popular last name on the Fylde coast. A relation of mine, way back, moved from Poulton to teach at Osbaldeston school, my side has been in Blackburn ever since. I do often think “if he hadn’t moved to take that job….would I be a Rovers fan? Probably not.” A nice personal family tale from my family was that my great grandfather Walter, his father (my great great grandad) and his brother all tried to get tickets for the 1928 FA Cup final. Only the sons got them. Ever the dutiful son Walter gave up his ticket so his dad could go in his place.

Honestly, I would expect his stock has dropped, at least a bit. He was expected to be a Championship squad player this season and he hasn't been anywhere near it. Prem clubs will notice he hasn't developed as expected. I'm not sure he will still get 10k pw offers unless that changes by season end. Tbh I got the impression in the summer Arsenal only wanted him for their u21s and the off chance he makes it, rather than thinking he's the real deal.

It’s petty behaviour from the club because of this Eustace nonsense, basically derby can’t have the full allocation because they couldn’t keep hold of Eustace because of how badly ran it is and having no ambition.

Rovers know full well that this day could turn out to be an absolute humiliation and are ensuring that it isn't going to be Derby's 'big day out'. As is often the case with away sides at Ewood the snowball effect occurs and every tom, dick and harry decides to 'get on it' for the day out with their mates and a bumper away following. Rovers have rolled out the red carpet for such behaviour on many occasions. All of a sudden Derby, who traditionally have struggled to shift 2000 away tickets, are moaning that they can't have more than 2,700, which is still more than they would get at most other grounds in the Championship, and still more than they would need were it not for the fair weather fans jumping on it.
