Venky’s & Waggott Out Protest Ideas
DE. replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Don't think it really makes much difference as long as Venky's & Suhail are around, but lol @ that statement, or lack thereof. Might as well have just read "GTFO". Waggott was the only one of the terrible trio who had any idea of how to speak to the media or fans without sounding exceptionally arrogant and/or totally clueless. Most of what he said was waffle, but it was - for the most part - the kind of waffle that experienced execs specialise in. Stuff that has no value, but on the surface sounds reasonable. Words that over tea and biscuits lead some people to declare that bright things are on the horizon for Rovers. It's a basic requirement if you need to do PR or stakeholder meetings somewhat regularly, but neither Suhail nor Rudy are any good at it judging from the recent interviews. Idk who comes in to replace him, not do I care. All that matters is Venky's being removed. -

Broughton hired JDT He gets credit for Eustace. After that im struggling other than perhaps suhail has made that job virtually impossible. -

Suhail would have wanted Broughton out. Broughton recommended that part of the Wharton fee was used improve the squad. Suhail nor the owners wanted that. -

But what did Waggott do that long term pushed the Club in the right direction? ** Anything? We got lucky to an extent with Adam Wharton which kept the lights on for a bit but even he was sold at the wrong point for a pitiful fee. ** I'm guessing some people will say appoint two excellent Head Coaches in JDT and Eustace but as he then alienated them to the point where they both walked out, I'm not sure how valid that point is. -

Probably not under the new league requirements. The womens team would have to go fully professional, which without knowing exact details of that I'd estimate is close to a 500k a year commitment. And I think other expenditure was required too. On top of that, you can't just operate without a CEO. We will have to bring a new one in, and whilst I'm certain we would downgrade the pay, it probably won't be by 500k... Tbh the womens team ship has sailed, we have already confirmed we aren't entering the league again. -
He just can't handle bald lads from Accy.

Because he has absolutely no experience. I think Waggott did a terrible job and I'm glad he's going, but Christ, things could get far worse with someone less experience. -

The saving on his annual salary would fund the women's team for a season or indeed several seasons wouldn't it? Tough choice. -

I'd be curious to know how Spurs fans are feeling about this season. Very weird situation they've found themselves in. An abominable PL campaign which may well see them finish as the 4th worst team in the division over 38 games - although theoretically they could still finish as "high" as 14th, owing to actually having remarkably solid GD for a club in 17th position. When you factor in that the three relegated clubs are just Championship level sides LARPing as PL teams for a season, though, it's still an embarrassing position to be in. They've also lost the most games in the division as it stands outside of the bottom three (Spurs 21 lost, Ipswich 23, Leicester 24, Soton 29). Yet, the league campaign effectively means nothing and was arguably pointless, as they've qualified for the "Champions" League regardless, thanks to the Europa League 'Get Out of Jail Free Card'. So, if you're a Spurs fan who basically wasted a ton of money to mostly watch your team lose week in and week out, does winning the Europa League and therefore qualifying for the CL make up for it? Or is there still some resentment there? Particularly as far from all Spurs fans who attended the league games will have been able to attend many or any of the Europa League games. As for Man Utd fans, well... they get to look forward to moving into a gigantic circus tent in the not-too-distant future.

There is definitely more to this than meets the eye. During the PR disaster with Radio Lancashire Swag was talking about events he was organising and involved in to celebrate the 150 year anniversary next season. -

I was ashamed to be a football fan. How embarrassing flooping and fakin rolling around it's disgusting. How much donthese assholes make? Few.mins from the end #17 goes down, rolling around slapping the ground in pain, pauses to check out what the ref is doing then goes back to acting kike he is hurt. Replay showed no contact. This stuff needs reviewed and serious penalties handed out. I for i e have had enough it needs fixed. How much did those fans pay tonwatch that disgraceful show. Very very poor reflection on the Premier League.

Crikey, what a bizarre statement. Don't think I have ever seen anything rovers related so significant issued in so few words. I have no idea if Waggott going is a good thing or not...depends who comes in next. While I am not a fan he is not the biggest clown in the clown car. We could easily end up with something much worse. All comes down to if there is any real quality planning behind the scenes. I wouldn't bet my house on it at all.. Am I right to think part of the problem could be that Suhail brought in Broughton and by extension JDT as part of a total club operating model refresh (young players, increasing value yada yada), then Waggott made Suhail look like a mug booting out Broughton and replacing with his own man Eustace who wanted experienced players. Now Suhail is reasserting his authority? -

I was told by a family member of a first teamer that he massively wrecked the morale of the first team during the second half of JDT's first season, when he let it be known he was releasing anyone on big money and selling anyone worth anything. Whether it was true or not that Waggott was to blame I don't know but everything they said came true. They also said he was trying to sell Adam Wharton to Newcastle for a shockingly low amount but Wharton wouldn't go. -

Even if by some miracle they decided to replace Waggott with a competent external CEO rather than promote the work experience guy from within, ask yourselves who is going to come in and work at an organisation whereby Pasha is technically subordinate to the CEO but practically is the head honcho as he is the only one with a connection to India and has their ear. It's just a ridiculous and laughable situation. Unworkable even if they decided to recruit a proper CEO, which they won't because those cost and will need assurances. Easier and cheaper just to muddle on with the chuckle brothers and hope it works out ok. Unacceptable in professional football. -

No fan of Waggott and glad that he's gone - but definitely concerned this is just Suhail tightening his grip on the club, particularly if lap dog Gestede is promoted to CEO.
