  1. Past hour
  2. Still maintain we might get a result tonight just to give us that breather as that what has seemed to happen so far this season, before then going on lose our next few.
  3. Biancheri is on Uniques books, so can see it being him. The other interesting one is Charlie Gray from city (on Uniques books but is a defensive midfielder).
  4. We are in a relegation fight, one I expect we will lose. I don't want to be guaranteeing anybody game time unless they're already the real deal at this level.
  5. Friedel (USA) Berg (NOR) Samba (CON) Nelsen (NZ) Olsson (SWE) Emerton (AUS) Tugay (TUR) Nzonzi (FRA) Duff (ROI) McCarthy (SA) Santa Cruz (PAR) I chose this because I feel like it’s the best available players in each position, given the restrictions. Some are undeniable (Friedel), some are debatable (Pedersen vs Duff, Olsson vs Givet) where nationality then restricts others (Pedersen vs Berg? Nzonzi vs Givet?), and some are made obvious by lack of alternative (Emerton is the only quality foreign player I can recall who was a suitable RW). A really interesting one, great idea. Edit: Occurred to me that I could pull Emerton back slightly and turn that into a back five and give Duff more room to roam behind the strikers.
  6. My only, very wishful thinking, is that the sale is contingent on us being a championship club so there might be a moderate amount of investment to try and keep us up
  7. Personally think there's an excuse creation culture. There's players being counted in the list that wouldn't be back in the first team squad, but if we mention they've got a knock then it makes us sound worse off.
  8. To be honest, I don't suspect it is true in reality. Even if Owen did decide Ismael wasn't right for the job (I have no evidence whatsoever that this is the case), do you really think he'd get it past RG and more importantly, SS? AO won't have any direct comms with the owners, and I'm pretty sure SS wouldn't be wanting to approach the owners to tell them the manager they selected is a failure. There was lots of chatter last April that there was a clause in VI's contract that it could be terminated within something like... 5 or 6 months. I remember Glen Mullan banging that drum quite incessantly. Is it beyond the realms of possibility that other clauses could have been inserted to protect the club from paying more or less full compensation? I know lots of people will say, this is Suhail you're talking about, but if nothing else, he doesn't like parting with his bosses money. I can't imagine VI would have held much negotiating power given his pretty abject managerial record.
  9. Cashin is here because Brighton are paying most of his wages that is the defining factor nothing else.
  10. Few interviews this week about the boycott. We wont really know until the day how well it has gone. Please keep spreading the word.
  11. Would more people who aren't boycotting be open to using the PNE game to not go to there seats until the 15th Minute game is live on sky
  12. A minor plea from me, who is neither an attender nor a boycotter merely one of the many many ‘natural boycotters’ If you use social media don’t rise to the bait, there are obvious posts out there with the sole purpose of agitation, it serves no good to get into a back and forth with other fans. You might feel you are sticking it to them but the only winners in that scenario are the powers that be inside the club.
  13. Going off the stuff Mercer had put I am guessing he is talking about Shea Lacey at United
  14. Well it's about time that AO did his fucking job, assuming that what Duncan was told was true. Has he not noticed that we are sinking without trace?
  15. Nobody playing Henning Berg ?
  16. Thanks for that Merc. He’d have to be a lot better than Tyjon to get me out of my seat.
  17. I am at a point where with Ismael I don't think even a tonne of better players would make the difference anymore. He is out of his depth tactically and has no ability to motivate the players. His media skills and excuse culture are the worst since Kean. If we loan some young wonder kids they will drop off a cliff after losing a few in a row. We need a new manager and a raft of experienced championship pros ASAP to keep us up.
  18. I remember this being included in the last fans forum minutes DM asked RG that while he had stated he thinks we will have a good season, what if we don’t? Since Steve Waggott left the structure at the club is unclear and if there is a decision to be made on the future of the head coach, who is responsible for that? SS stated it would be the owners decision, but they would propose it. DM asked specifically who would propose this as it is unclear where people’s remit starts and ends, and it was unclear who was assessing the performance of RG/SS or VI. RG stated that AO was responsible for assessing all coaching staff at the club, which extended to ValerienIsmael.
  19. I would have thought coming here to play under the current shit show would be character building for any young player. If you can thrive at Rovers in its' current state, then you'll be OK anywhere.
  20. Arthur Lee - Five String Serenade
  21. Today
  22. I've a feeling we will be looking at someone like Chido Obi, Biancheri or Reigan Heskey
  23. Friedel (USA) Emerton (AUS) Samba (CON) Hendry (SCO) Zurab (KAZ) Tugay (TUR) Nzonzi (FRA) Duff (ROI) Bellamy (WAL) Pedersen (NOR) Shearer (ENG) Midfield a bit slow but could see Nzonzi and Tugay bouncing off each other.
  24. There abound be a study on our injuries this season, I’m convinced it’s all part of a defunding. Every injury is seemingly 5-6 weeks or more and I’d hazard a guess that some of that is due to misdiagnosis or mismanagement of the initial injuries. It’s never just a knock that is a game or two and then back
  25. With the way the tv money is vastly expanding and the financial gap between Premier League and Championship widening its more about timing really. The resources to bridge the gap and growing year on year. There are a bunch of clubs who made it the mid to end 2010 and have managed to stick or yoyo (Brighton, Brentford, Bournemouth, Palace, Burnley, Sheff Utd, Wolves). But recent years the only new club in who has stuck a bit is Forest and they spent mega money. Will be interesting of Leeds and Sunderland can last.
  26. Why Rovers? A short term deal, 'guaranteed' game time thereby gaining invaluable experience and becoming 'battle hardened' in a challenging and competitive league, we have something of a track record with promising young loan players (Elliott and Van Hecke to name but two) and as @islander200 points out, the parent club may prefer the young lad to be loaned to a club close to home for clear reasons. This would not be about money (loan fee, savings on wages etc) for the parent club but would be about hastening the development of a real young talent. Why not Rovers?
