A 'pointless' system for a club that very very rarely (Dingles aside) sells an away game out before general sale.

You're absolutely right ... even though eustace owes us nothing and just doing his job of picking a dead man's pocket , we'll do it in a heartbeat too... but i blame the Vs for the murder of ROVERS -

Totally unproveable, but until I actually see otherwise , I would say yes and yes. -
Am I correct in thinking that loyalty points are now accumulating season on season. When they introduced it last year the maximum number of season tickets included in the loyalty point scheme was 2 (2023/24 and 22/23). I think you got more points for 23/24 than you did for 22/23. Now I have 440 which I believe is another 150 for this years season ticket. Thinking forward, I wonder how many years season tickets they are going to include in the loyalty points before they 'cap' it.

League one was the original berth of the 1875 club wasn't it due to some small allocations? From memory there was only Fleetwood that actually ended up needing it! Then I think it got canned for a few years until we appeared in the same league as those lot so they decided to cash in on the FOMO as you rightly say. What an operation this club is.
-
The 1875 Club was only ever used for a quick exploitative cash in on loyal fans with FOMO for a ticket to that lot down the M65. They had zero interest in utilising it for anything productive.

Im not sure selling the best right back possibly in the league to a supposed direct rival (in terms of objectives) and replacing with someone they discarded seems wise. Think hes had injury problems and isnt that good. -
I’ve not read that yet. Edit. I have now. No punches pulled there is there ? The writer is correct though, we’ve been a bit incoherent all through the tournament and got by with latge helping of good fortune.
-
They were knackered in extra time. Italy in particular were kicking it anywhere. That doesn’t happen to the same degree in the men’s game.
-
We try the membership scheme but offer perks that most people aren't really arsed about or don't actually need, but actually offering a serious saving on tickets would be a clear incentive and probably lead to significant increased membership sales, as opposed to the pathetic numbers sold previously. As ever with this lot it's the low hanging fruit they are looking for. Coining it in from a few bumper away followings is easy, just have to set a price and let them in. If Rovers fans don't like it tough "Should have bought a season ticket then" attitude
-
This is it for me, the 1875 membership would have been perfect for this. Pay a £30 yearly fee or whatever and get x amount off each ticket you buy over the season, can charge the away fans what they want then. As we have known long before now, nobody is interested in growing the fanbase here. We're a huge inconvenience to them.

Does anyone have any information on Andy McNally? One of the early Rovers Ladies' coaches who brought huge success to the team. Can't see much of him online though? - Today

The club's focus and priority comes into clear view with this latest act All the focus and concern at decision making level is around the opposition and more importantly how much cash can be extracted from their fans. The impact on Rovers and Rovers fans and absolute irrelevance, £35 a time in the away end so the same behind the goals in the BBE. Like it or lump it. No discount scheme or members prices either which many others offer to give home fans reduced rates whilst still getting the away support cash What next. Wrexham possibly Category A* for the tourists. Just ridiculous and an opportunity for a decent home crowd first game of the season wasted. They'll be happy though because they can profit from Birmingham's promotion and feel good factor
-
At some point after the Accy game, he picked up a severe groin injury and will be out for a while
-
I think I am already at the stage that I would be less concerned seeing Montgomery coming on as a sub than I would be about John Buckley trotting on.

I watched the last 15 minutes and about 10 minutes of extra time. I also watched extra time in the Sweden game. In both cases the two sets of players looked dead on their feet around 95 minutes which got me wondering; why do women play 90 minutes, and then 30 minutes of extra time? Would 80 mins, and two 10 min periods not be better for the game? Women play best of 3 sets in major tennis tournaments. The men play best of 5. The WNBA has 10 minute quarters. The NBA has 12 minute ones. Women do 100m hurdles. Men 110m I'm sure that there are more examples too. Has it been discussed by FIFA or UEFA?

Im not convinced Brittain and at least one of Travis or Tronstad will still be here by the end of the window so a lot depends on who leaves. If no-one of any import leaves then we're 14 goals down on a squad that wasn't exactly prolific last season. Against that we may have added a bit more athleticism in the midfield areas and Tyjon is the unknown variable who could be a sensation. Defensively I doubt Mclaughlin will be as good as Batth was last season but I really rate Wharton and if he stays fit his return is a huge boost imo. As things stand today I dont think there's a massive amount to choose playing wise between this season and last. It'll basically depend upon how well VI shapes up against Eustace. -

As much as I'd like to get our business done early and be able to have the whole squad training together in pre-season, it's just not how football works anymore. We won't know if this transfer window has been a success until October, when we've seen them play, and we obviously won't know who we've got until the window closes. None of us have any real idea how good DeNeve, Alebiosu and Tavares are. McLoughin we know is a pretty solid Championship CB (something we desperately needed). It does look like we've put a premium on athleticism though - they're all bigger, stronger and faster than the players that proceeded them. -
Don't follow the Lionesses as it were but looking in from the outside it does seem as though this group of players peaked when they won the Euro's 4 years ago and are past their best. Still, they're in the Final so if it were the men Im sure everyone would be saying "Who cares how we played, it's the result that counts".
-
I remember one of the old time referees (might have been Jack Taylor) saying many years ago that you couldn't penalise every foul in the penalty area or you'd be giving 12-13 penalties a match. My reaction back then was (and still is) why not? If they clamped down hard it'd soon stop. In recent years it seems to have got way worse again. Defenders aren't even watching the ball before it comes over and their only remit seems to be to block the attacker off and they frequently have hold of the attacker with two arms and go unpunished. They were meant to be cracking down on it a few seasons back but that initiative quickly fizzled out and it's gone worse.

Obviously we havent seen that much of him, and I am guessing that your post is somewhat tongue in cheek. But he definitely appears to be somewhat "raw" but that is not a huge criticism of him to say so. He is a winger we signed for a low fee relative to the league from Serie B so it is what youd expect. Wingers in general especially ones like Kargbo tend to be frustrating at times, but its also a skillset we didnt have and it can open up space for others too. We have seen signs of things that I am sure will frustrate and that suggest that he is raw. Running the ball out of play, giving away silly fouls, blazing shots miles over the bar, trying to beat too many players etc. I remember v Wolves which I think was his debut, having a player like him was exciting because we havent seen it for a long time, he terrified their defenders but didnt really achieve much at the end of it. He got into one good position and ended up diving and getting booked. There is also clearly something to work with though. He is absolutely rapid, he can take players on and there have been glimpses where he has got things right in the final third. He showed great composure to set up Dolan v Plymouth and yesterday that cross was excellent. He is the kind of player you want to see. It does seem though that Ismael is likely to go into the season favouring to start a perhaps more safe choice in De Neve. I hope Kargbo can really push on this season and also avoid injury as there is definitely something in there. -

Because he tried to get the Club to tie down those very same players here? He's being nothing if not consistent.
