Well we've already got Radio Rovers, Rovervision, Darwen End, Blackburn End Upper, town centre shop, ladies team, matchday programme, non matchday Blues Bar, reduced opening for the club shop, not to mention other things such as routine maintenance, cleanliness, staffing all falling victim to the insatiable appetite for cuts. So only to be expected that once the 'big' ones were dealt with that attention would turn to smaller things such as Sky Sports subscriptions. This is the problem when you have owners and stooges only interested in cutting costs - it becomes an addiction and no stone is left unturned. Everything can be justified under the banner of 'it saves money'. Technically they are right it does. I've asked a few times where does that quest end? Close the whole club down - that will save money as well? Demolish Ewood and move to Darwen? Knock down Brockhall (oh yeah, already tried that one). The legions of fans who continue to line up to defend and support these decisions seem to think there is a red line somewhere that this regime will never cross and their routine of trotting down to Ewood and sitting in their seat every fortnight is sacred and will never be infringed on by regime. Newsflash - they don't care and nothing is safe.

That's a great point Tyrone. Players whose careers get cut short due to injury could be fast-tracked? -

An ex-team mate of mine, a very good goalkeeper, had a brain haemorrhage at 21. When he recovered he became a referee as he could no longer play. Incidentally his son played in goal for Rovers youth team when they played the Utd youth team in the Beckham, Scholes, Neville era. He never went much further in the game. -

I get that - they just should be grown up enough to own it when it does / doesn't work instead of blaming the ref! A few years ago I was at a Nat League South game when a player shouted 'our ball' for a throw-in when it clearly wasn't. After he got abuse from the crowd he shouted back with a grin on his face - 'well you've got to try haven't you'. That I can sort of accept ๐ -

I'd say it's him and other middlemen who have decided there's no point approaching the owners with a plan to buy the club unless there is 1/200 million on the table. Because they are terrified the owners might just engage in a serious conversation and then his and his mates gravy train ego trip is over. Only way to do anything with that lot is get to them directly and by them i mean the two head honchos not the siblings. -

Following the withdrawal of our food suppliers due to technical issues ...(Parking Charges) 'We want to create a concourse where fans feel more connected so we are putting up some Rovers pictures and providing microwaves and hot water so you can heat your own pies and make your own brews' Footnote: There will be a ยฃ5 per match service charge for this, consider joining Jacks Kitchen instead where we'll still give you pie and peas for ยฃ15 !

Closed for dinner? Or maybe a team building moral sapping session?

I can't believe casual staff are expected to pay ยฃ15 for parking. What's the point working there for next to nowt? Wonder if we'll at some point this season be the first League Club in the Country not to offer any food or refreshments in the concourse and /or Struggle to fulfill any fixtures due to a lack of stewarding. I wouldn't be surprised given the direction the Club is heading in.

Rovers under 21's are playing Brighton at Ewood on Friday and if you are a season ticket holder it's free but you have to get your ticket before 3 pm on Friday. Misleadingly the article states the prices you have to pay after 5 pm. I wonder what is happening in the two hour period between 3 and 5.

In light of your post and given how quiet it was on Saturday at the food and drink outlets it could be that many are switching on to the fact they are being fleeced. Not that it will make any difference to Sodexho and Rovers whose head in the sand attitude will prevail. I bought a dozen 500ml bottles of water from Lidl last week for ยฃ1.89.

The official website hasn't been updated yet (no surprise there) but the under 18's are playing Fulham at the Academy on Tuesday 26th in the Premier League Cup. Kick off is 12 noon.

In fairness to Elliott he does cover most supporter stuff and needs to maintain a relationship with the club as part of his job. There will be bigger things to cover in the future than some minutes in a FF. He certainly gives good airtime to the supporters concerns and he's a decent guy. Its finding the balance so he dont get totally shut out by club, so fully understand the dilemma somethings can create.

Obviously not one of ours anymore but noticed that Lenni Cirino popped up with a goal for Gillingham last night after being at Clitheroe last season. Good for him.
