Ismael is very comfy on his long deal and very much trotting out the company line in his interview. Not convinced that hes truthfully so happy about business. He keeps talking about versatility. Yes its very useful but it doesnt compensate for a lack of numbers. For example, we are short in midfield with Travis gone, Tavares (who Ismael seems to think has done well in every game which is far from true) and us signing someone who is nowhere near fitness. So Taylor Gardner Hickman should be needed there. But he cant play there and right back at the same time and our right back cover is now considered a full time centre back. And if we are so well covered, Hyam wouldnt have been one of the first names on the team sheet. Theres a continued batting off about the contract situation. No reassurance that anything is going to change and those with 2 years on their deals will be proactively approached.

Watched the Gestede interview... Arrogant and out of his depth. We are in trouble.

Our goal from Jayden Sargent off the bench I see, only came on in the 75th minute. There was a bit of hype about him in the U18s last season I recall. I'm struggling to find his age, but the only thing I can see is from that Rovers Xtra account 3 months ago, stating he was 15 at the time! I'd assume 16 now, but a very good sign if he is starting to play and score for the U21s already. May be one to watch. Stats: 10 league appearances for the U18s last season, with 5 assists and 1 goal over 544 minutes (equivalent to just over 6 full games, and a goal contribution almost exactly every 90 minutes). Although no goals or assists for them this season in 3 games and 198 minutes (equivalent of 2.2 full games). Only one 9 minute appearance for the U21s this season before this match, in the PL2 against Brighton, and 4 for them last season, 3 of which were in this competition, the PL Cup. None of them last season were for more than 69 minutes, but he still got 2 assists, including 1 against City in the PL2 in a 16 minute cameo. If he really is 15 or only just 16 these are promising numbers. I wonder if he'll start to break into the U21s properly this season.

Trav had his best season at Rovers last year. Hyam played our last 50 games. Sure, neither are world beaters but they were without doubt two of our best players, who, before being fucked around, wanted to stay. We wanted them to stay too. Hearing people claim this was a strategic squad restructure is driving me crazy. The club wanted all of the departing players but weren't willing to pay the going rate. I'm also interested to know which one of Tavares, Baradji or Gardner you think will be better than Travis, and why.

It was only "time for them to leave" because we are incapable of sorting new deals at competitive rates.

Travis and Ham had their criticism in the last couple of seasons and it was time for them to leave with only a year left on their deals. You could ask if Ham really wanted to be here, Trav too...it was time for a new challenge..both looked suspicious alot of times. I hope Carter, Wharton or Miller has an superb season and Tavares, Baradji or Gardner Hickman can do better than Travis , and I think they will. The biggest miss will be Brittain but Ryan hasn't been that bad has he? As a Rovers supporter I hope we do well this season as every supporter want their team to do well. ..the mismanagement didn't start this or last season...it started when the Vs bought the club.

I hope Elliot or Bayes asks Tronstad if this is true. Some treatment...
