2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

Not sure there is a conclusion on his back injuries - two stress fractures, what's causing them? Understand because of this, the lad is naturally a wee apprehensive to push himself to the max. It's a difficult one and for me the only answer is to let the lad go out on loan to a League 1 or 2 club to play week in and week out and for him to give it his all and try to overcome any psychological barriers that may be there - it could then be make or break for his career. -
I’d say the po faced, ‘we are different’ mentality of LFC fans, plus just as many glory hunters (though they always seem to avoid the ‘they all come from London’ tag) has them just as high on my list as Man Utd.

You can get years like that. No club has a conveyor belt of young players ready for the first team. You can’t rely on things like that. -
It "inbuilt" that we hate Burnley first and foremost. Then the "hate" of other clubs must start with Manure surely?

Yuki is a much better finisher than Leonard. -

Just looking at the starting eleven on for our three league games so far only Travis has come through the Academy. With a reported three new signings imminent I think it further reduces the possibility of home grown players becoming first team regulars or even squad members which is a huge turnaround from recent times when we regularly had over half of the squad coming through our Academy. It's a slightly worrying situation for me as, with a couple of exceptions I can't see any of the current crop of youngsters making it at Championship level. -

He's got significant physical disadvantages compared to a lot of others, short legs, stocky build so i'd say the fact he has carved the career he has so far is a big credit to not only his effort but the ability he does actually posses. He's like a modern day wide attacking Ronnie Hildersley, if you remember him. -

A possible take on it is they were told about 10% of previous sales is available for initial fees to re-invest in players hence Gestede's comments the budget is set regardless of further sales. Another angle is now Waggot has gone and Suhail is under scrutiny they are actually intent on spending all that budget. Something the other two i believe were reluctant to do in the past and always liked to keep some in the pot, presumably to impress the owners. Also maybe allow for a bit of movement in Jan loan wise or change of coach etc. To be fair Vs track record of backing new managers and coaches in the first proper window stands up to scrutiny, i think. It's what usually happens after that causes the issues. -
Let's Talk Tyrhys Dolan

Whatever you make of his time at Rovers - brilliant, frustrating, somewhere in between - I genuinely hope he does great in Spain. He always came across as a great guy who respected the fans and had time for them. And if he shines over there, it reflects well on us too. Come to Blackburn, prove yourself, and who knows? You could follow Dolan to La Liga or join Wharton and Raya in the Premier League. -
Watched the highlights on TV. Wharton was substituted in the Forest match but Hughes stayed on? Adam can play beautiful passes but he needs to dominate more and develop an energetic, physical side to his game. There's also the lack of goals. Tuchel has alot of high quality midfield players to choose from and I don't think Wharton is among them yet

You’re being extremely harsh. You just said “it was an exceptional through pass”

I agree to an extent. I think he's worth a loan in league one and assess again next summer. Does him or us no good for him to be hanging around here as 3rd choice this season. We need to see if his body can handle playing twice a week at the level below before having him around the squad here for me. -

Got to remember how Hyam arrived with club and player taking advantage of a striken Coventry. Unlike Travis and Tronstad, he has been offered a contract renewal. He is more likely to move to Watford this week than not. -

Leonard missed his opportunity I think. When he did get a few games under his belt, his finishing let him down. He was competitive and made decent runs leading the line - a bit like Yuki but he's not overly physical or quick enough to really trouble 2 centre backs at this level yet. He's been very unlucky with injuries but unfortunately that's how the game goes for some. Reminds me of Butterworth from a few years prior, some talent but back injuries hampered his progression. Now seems to have established himself in league 2 after a quick Google. Leonard needs to do the same in my opinion. Lower league will make or break him. -

I’d have Leonard around the first team or at worst a league 1 loan. I think there’s a player in there. -

Forget football for a second, as sometimes you need to stand up to people in life. If you can see someone being bullied, or you yourself are being bullied, then you can sit back and take it, or stand up for yourself and your colleagues. It’s pretty obvious that there are bullies at the club, right now, as we saw on the recent podcast. If a couple of players have called that out, then fair play to them, as doing nothing, is sometimes not the right option. -

The installments thing works both ways though, we get to buy like that too so it really doesn't matter. Agents and the player do not tend to get 30% of the incoming transfer fee. It's rare you give a player a sell on clause. What they get is a loyalty bonus if they haven't formally requested a transfer, which will be set rather than a percent of the sale generally, I believe. Agent fees and signing on fees are usually negotiated as part of the player's contract at the new club. -
End of the day those that were ‘pro’ Dolan on here merely said he was no world beater but just a decent Championship player and would have no problem getting a decent move. The ‘anti’ Dolan posters said he was crap, a few said he would end up in League 1. The ‘pros’ were always right, not because they were a set of sages, but because it should’ve been blatantly obvious to anybody they watches a fair amount of Championship level football.
