  1. Past hour
  2. In my opinion, if Leonard goes out on loan or not, we need one striker in, who will score goals.
  3. I do often see these two (Chaddy and RF99) like a marvel match up. Hope vs Doom! 🀣πŸ’ͺ🏽
  4. Saw an interview with him not long ago where he said he had to play a year down until under 12/13s as he was so small Hopefully he's caught up a bit, but he's still 16/17 playing under 21 football so I dont think its fair to expect him to stand out just yet.
  5. If Harry goes out on loan, we need a minimum of 2 attackers imo (RW and Striker) . So just saying "another" worries me.
  6. He seemed to have no assistance in central midfield at all if Strich & Wood were meant to be his partners last night In seperate news U18s play Burnley today, kick off at 11am. Eze starts, no sign of Higgins, who has not featured much in pre/early season for the U18s, & not at all for the U21s score/update
  7. This is where I lie and I think many others. I believe a blend of Championship experience and unknown quantities from Europe are the way to go. Like you, I worry we've potentially tipped the balance in one direction too much and it will have a negative impact.
  8. Has it actually been declared anywhere that Baradji IS injured and won't feature for a while? On holiday at the min so a bit behind. Or are we just making the assumption on the back of Nixons previous story?
  9. Does Dunn look like a prospect? It seems he’s struggling to stand-out in a poor team.
  10. I have to say, whilst I understand the idea of scouting good players out of the lower level European leagues, I genuinely think we are now playing with fire. To add the players we have and then kept Batth, Travis and Brittain, I would would be mildly excited to see how Tavares, Alebiosu, Henriksson, Miller and Baradji would fair. But to now be reliant on those players fitting in and doing a job leaves a LOT of questions. I just hope those lads settle in quick enough to prevent us getting dragged into a relegation battle and the toxicity that would create.
  11. As Mercer points out, 'Those dingles bastards' are just us in the mirror, before the cancerous Raos kicked in. We'd be prepared to put up with a lot to return to the position they are in / have been in for the past decade or so. There but for the grace of football, go we.
  12. Last time Pasha had complete control of the club incidentally...
  13. Given the flagged medical issues, re-negotiating a loan-to-buy for Baradji is perfectly sensible. It's that it's seemingly paired with shipping Travis out (and possibly having to wait for the first instalment of that sale to hit the bank account to make the Baradji deal work...) that leaves a sour taste. So why not hang on to him and wait for the big boys to start circling? I agree that there were some doubts about Wharton at the time. He had some inconsistent performances (I recall telling a friend to watch him when he came on against Millwall; he rightly wondered why he wasn't starting!), he needed to develop physically and show he can handle the rigours of pro football, and there are still questions about his general body language (his stride can look awkward, but he's faster than he looks). It drew some ire, but JDT might have had a point when he benched him due to alleged immaturity. All part of why he was still relatively under the radar. Plus, Broughton had just signed him to a new long-term deal and he wasn't itching to leave, unlike some other Academy prodigies (Phillips, Finneran, etc. I try to be realistic and not blame them too much...) I agree it's fanciful to think we could've gotten something close to the fees being rumoured now for a player with only Champ experience (the Scott deal was 'up to' Β£25m, the Gray deal was linked to Leeds buying Roden, etc), but getting a bidding war going that summer (or later!) and securing an extra, say, Β£5-7m (and further add-ons) is nothing to scoff at given that's probably how much any 120+% wage-turnover club usually needs in net incomings (that's apparently the price of ~2 out-of-contract Championship players πŸ™‚). You have to be a realistic that a talent like him will be snapped up eventually as we stagnate in the 2nd tier, but you squeeze that golden goose for all its got. Realism about finances aside, it generally saddens me that we only really got to watch two half-seasons of him at Rovers... The bigger question is why he was available at all for Β£18m+ (emphasis on the '+' given some purposefully over-emphasise Β£18m, but I digress...) The club will never admit it, but it was because we desperately needed cashflow due to the owners being (apparently) legally prevented from sending enough money over (even if you question that story, it still looks bad on Venky's).
  14. He’s likely been treated like sh*** by the club and things behind the scenes are an absolute mess affecting his career, finances, family etc. So he doesn’t want that in his life and wants out. Doesn’t matter whether he loves the club - treated badly and the club’s got zero decency, ambition and money=find another employer. Simple as.
  15. 3-1 Hull. We're the team to play right now. Starting midfield is OK but with no Trav and a crocked star signing there's not much else in the tank.
  16. Rudy and Val seem hell bent on creating a team in their own image. If we buy any more foreign imports we'll be renamed something similar to Internazionale Milano! How's about INTER ROVERS.
  17. Signing Baradji as a loan may well be related to the questions raised about his injury status. Potentially a good player with a doubt about his fitness over time. If he’s robust then a conversion to a permanent deal makes sense.
  18. This window is bringing back some bad memories - Radosav Petrovic ( I think he was 6 ft 4 by coincidence ), Sacha Petshi, Fode Koita etc This new 'Travis replacement' is injured, on loan and on a pay as you play contract ( I believe ) I doubt he will be here next season.
  19. Morris has started well. Proven Championship striker. 3 goals in 3. Moves us into the relegation zone.
  20. That's a very decent signing for Oxford https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/ben-davies-joins-oxford-united-loan-rangers Davies & Helik at centre back looks solid, Helik a big set piece threat too
  21. It was only a matter of time before 'the card' was played it was done last time. Doesn't help when muppets chant the name of someone who has zero connection to the club though. Playing right into the hands of those who have their own agenda they want to push. Chant the players names instead don't give the MSM the chance it's waiting for to find a suitable 'far right' target to smear and don't give those the chance to infiltrate the fanbase and use it as their vehicle. We've more than enough problems already so lets keep it clean.
  22. Today
  23. He never ever played like he couldnt be bothered. He seemed like he loved playing for us, but as ever, our terrible owners/board and inability to pay competitive wages meant that he left.
  24. Was that before or after we signed someone on loan?
  25. "suitors for Ainsley Pears are less public". Yes I burst out laughing at that line. I will have to remember my chances of competing at the next World Cup are less public...
  26. Apologies if it's already been covered but in VI'S pre match interview with the club, he says: No plans to make any loan signings at present Harry Leonard likely to go out on loan Wants to sign another attacker Some younger players might go on loan
