  1. Past hour
  2. have to agree, he works hard but yesterday he looked knackered. So did most of the team, hence why I was surprise we didn't see some changes in the starting line up
  3. Oh dear Have they outbid us again?
  4. Going to Oxford on loan from reports online
  5. Just imagine if we could combine De Neves pace, with Henriksson's work rate, and Tavares'... erm, ability to kick the ball better than the other 2, and we would have, 1 player who is almost some use late on off the bench
  6. I think the Swedish league is well down the list of coefficients in terms of quality. Not doubting his effort but in terms of attributes, havent seen anything at all.
  7. Nixon in "chattin' bullshit club propaganda" shocker Either that, or we did bid, but it was so derisory, they assumed we were not being serious so didn't inform the manager
  8. I like his attitude, and unlike the dossers of De Neve and Tavares he puts in a shift - 2nd half yesterday he ran everywhere with zero service..You have Ohashi who is meant to be a striker and thought he looked worse. As i said, he was highly rated at his old club in an okay league so there's definitely something to work with...Maybe if we start him in his position on a run of games we can access him more accurately. He's a grafter and does have the ability to pick a good pass. "Worst player in a rovers shirt" and "Worst signing we've made" is far fetched IMO.
  9. Leninan would be our best central defender at the moment. Mulgrew was as good a defender as any of our current defenders back then, that's even ignoring the value of his set piece delivery. Williams and Nyambe were both suited to a back 4, but still that was a strong defence. Conway was far superior to any wide player we have. Bennett and Corry Evans were better than TGH, Tavares, Forshaw etc.. They would be nailed on starters on Sunday. Marshall tailed off at Rovers but he was still a better footballer than most we can put on the pitch in the attacking third today. We have one striker injured at the moment and are playing players out of position up top. Emnes and that younger Sam Gallagher were superior to anything we can field up top at the moment. You then look at squad depth of people who didnt feature much. Elliot Ward, Guthrie, Mahoney, Lucas Joao would all potentially be starters on Sunday with the team as it is at the moment with injuries. There's not much in this for me. I'm not sure how this squad is significantly better.
  10. Some on here said Taveres was an upgrade.
  11. You didn't miss anything. A state of induced coma might be a decent option for consideration in the run down to the end of the season. VENKYS OUT! SUHAIL PASHA OUT! KNOBHEAD WITH SHORT TROUSERS AND ANKLE SOCKS OUT!
  12. How does every other championship club and many at levels below us attract new owners? Why are we so unique that nobody else could possibly own us? Vebkys greatest achievement in the past 15 years is that they have ma aged to convince a good portion of the fanbase that nobody else could possibly own us.
  13. The Skids - Into The Valley
  14. Have you seen some of the midfielders that the academy has produced, eg Jason Lowe?
  15. Championship clubs on the market have little issue attracting investors from what I can see… but of course you need two parties at the table.
  16. Barnsley boss saying he's not aware of any bid.
  17. Total agreement. If 6000 in the stadium doesnt embarass them then the view of 2,000 wont upset them as there would be little difference.
  18. That side had Danny Graham and very little else, I honestly think the current lot is significantly better. Doesn't mean we'll stay up mind you. I can see us keeping Oxford and obviously Wednesday behind us, but avoiding 22 will be a scrap.
  19. we could do with Lewis Travis right now who the majority were happy to see the back of…
  20. Cant be same XI, Litherland out for 5 to 6 weeks. Had someone lined up but Barnsley wont accept a bid of £1000.00 for their star player [the significent six figure bid]
  21. The injuries certainly haven't helped. What is catching up with us far more though, is the self inflicted absence of sufficient depth or quality within the squad.
  22. Embarrassment for us as supporters but not for them. Why would it? They don't care.
  23. Today
  24. Oh my... we have had plenty of low moments, but this is absolutely up there. With Norwich rising, we are going to need to pull out some performances from somewhere, somehow (which to be fair we have done a few times this season (weather limited)) - absolute dross. Clearly a lack of strikers isn't helping - this isn't a surprise it has been the case for a few weeks, so why on earth hadn't they got someone lined up for the second the window opened? It'll be the same XI again and again at this rate, with ever diminishing returns.
  25. Purely based on the fact that he knows how to run a training session in even a semi-professional manner puts him above Coyle in the competency league. Coyle was a Sunday League level coach, let's not forget that. Not old enough to have experienced anything pre-Dalglish, but Kean is (bald) head and slippery shoulders above anything in our history, for both footballing and non-footballing reasons. Ismael's home record is astoundingly poor, but he doesn't come close to either of the above 2 clowns, in my opinion.
  26. I would love a modern day Jack Walker... If there was one and the Venky's dug in, then I'd be all for a boycott to force their hand. My point was, at the moment I can't see an investor on the horizon. That doesn't excuse the current situation we are in - far from it, but no bids means 'what is the alternative?'.
