Gav didnt say it was ‘impossible’ without parachutes, but he did say wasn’t going to happen ‘9/10’. However, last three seasons Luton, Ipswich and Sunderland have all done it without them. So, of course, it’s a very unfair system, but doable, especially for those clubs that spend year after year around the top end of the leag…oh

Hre is 16 years old, and last season (whilst still at school) was fairly regular for our U18s and also played for our U21s as well as being called up for Italy U17s For comparison, Harvey Higgins (also 16 and still at school last season) played slightly less games at both U18 & U21 level, and is playing at England U16 level So purely looking at the stats, their development/potential/hype, are similar, albeit in different positions. wth us getting lucky with Higgins signing a scholarship deal as he is a local lad who has been with us since U7s level, whilst we snapped Eze up from Accrington less than 7 months ago

Or you deliberately string it along, saving yourself a few grand. As you say, it was ages for his signing to complete - but his contract expired at the end of June. I wouldn't be surprised if the board deliberately took as long as they did to save £20k or whatever he would have received in those weeks - Today

Championship 24/25

With the financial inequalities in this country, its hard to make a strong case for any of the promoted sides to stay up. They all have to essentially sign a new teams worth of players to stand a chance, Sunderland in particular. I dont see which current Premier League team will face much jeopardy. If West Ham dont sack Potter then they are probably the most likely. Was great to see Sheff United not go up purely because of how much of a dickhead Wilder is. - Yesterday

Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

Not quite, it would go like this: 1. In response to everyone who has a functioning brain cell going absolutely mental about this, chaddy would be responding fanatically by regurgitating the club's reasons for doing it without ever stating his own opinion on the matter due to him either not having one or not being capable of having one. 2. He would then clarify that he will be down Witton Park every week to watch his Rovers because it is his choice and he will never not support his club. Just get over it. 3. Repeat 1 and 2 for eternity until the sun explodes and consumes the Earth. -
But Walker and Stones when at their peak were key components of a side that were winning multiple league titles and various other honours.

YEP, its what they say that counts not what they do! -
Teenage sensation? I don't get to watch the youth sides often but keep eye through here and the website. I don't recall Eze getting much hype to be called a teenage sensation or to the tune that Milan or Juventus would come knocking. Have I missed it?

Glad Sheffield cheaters stayed down. Wilder getting his half time talk and subs all wrong makes it even better.
-
Agree but tbf ghuei really stepped up at the euros. He was probably our best player and konsa has proven to be a good champions league defender
-
I think we have often set up quite defensively but even individually, we are much worse now because we had the likes of Stones, Walker and even Shaw who are all a shadow of their former self.

it takes a glacial amount of time to do anything at ewood,we waited ages for mcfadzean to sign an extension last year,no idea why you can`t agree a deal quickly with a player who is already on the payroll -

I'm pretty confident Batth won't be here next season. Elliot reckons we offered him his new deal around Easter time. Or if he does end up signing, it will be later in the window if he doesn't end up getting any better offers. -
I was expecting a wilder meltdown post match in his interview, fair play he was actually reasonable and congratulated Sunderland, he's right though that second 'goal' would have been game over, although he didn't dwell on it like I expected him to. Both Sunderland and Leeds have the potential to stay up with some big investment.

https://eflanalysis.com/news/how-steve-waggott-and-venkys-responded-to-blackburn-rovers-investment-offer-before-ceos-exit/ If true, Venkys declined outside investment in the Women's team but then also refused to put the money in themselves. -
De Paul is a good defensive player
-
I'm agreeing it's not our best position but we've always done well defensively at tournaments with the right set up especially under Southgate

He probably wants to leave, so he may take the same wage with a sweetener.. -
Like usual at that basket case club he’ll be backed in the summer, theyll then bring in more overpriced dross… and then he’ll be potted in about October.

My less-than-informed impression, which is based only really on highlights, is that Wharton has not been at his best since returning from groin injury and surgery mid-season. Though he has been starting, Palace have rotated their many CMs, including Kamada, Hughes, Lerma and Devenny. Wharton didn't play in their last game, if I remember rightly. My guess is that there is a lot of confirmation bias going on. Every sliver of evidence being used to build the argument that Wharton is currently a world-beater - overlooking where he's not doing so well, compared to before. It makes sense for Wharton to rest and get back to his best. Palace failed in their duty of care, I believe, in playing him when he was suffering from injury.

He may have said the right things, I have never disagreed. So what? Hes not a pundit. The football team he is managing has become far worse and shown no signs of progress with him in charge, showing no signs of any promise and resulting in some abysmal results. And long may it continue.
-
No it's very relevant cos he expected it and warned the club before he started this would happened I dont get why you can accept he was right and United have backed him which I expected given Ratcliffe interview with Gary Neville about his 1st year in charge there
