  1. Past hour
  2. The under 21 and under 18 resources will be really stretched next week as we have Middlesbrough in PL 2 on Monday night and Blackpool at 1 pm the following day in the Central League Cup. In my view it's quite strange scheduling having two games so close to each other.
  3. Anyone know what his salary is? probably 100k tax free.
  4. I am sure it is at least partly because of the lack of quality in the league, but I am pleased for him that its going well
  5. He wasn't singled out or doubled up on at Rovers - any good Championship FB had him in their back pocket. For his sake I'm glad he's started well, but it does make me question the quality of that league.
  6. As already pointed out to make the most of his style he needed an entire back line of quality and a really good box to box midfielder to put next to Sonny. With reasonable backing he would probably have built that, O'Brian was to be another cog in that wheel.
  7. We finished 7th in his only full season - nobody has done better in 13 years - and were 7th in mid-December of his second before a nightmare, er, 10 games just before he left. Scoring 52 and conceding 54 across a 46-game season also doesn't scream 'just trying to outscore the opposition regardless of their quality'. To be honest a lot of games that season involved very few clear chances for either team. We only had one period of doing that IMO, towards the start of his second season (before he left we were just a bad team full stop as he'd given up and we had Garrett, Moran, Telalovic etc starting).
  8. Today
  9. Dolan speed of feet and natural balance were different level at Rovers and in the Championship. They got him into positions which also required vision and decision making he hadn't developed which made him such a frustrating player. At Espanyol every player will be next level.skillful beyond anything he was alongside at Rovers so: - he will be getting better quality service - he won't need vision and decision making as much because colleagues will be better positioned around him to receive passes from him - when he screws up or gets dispossessed better players will be better positioned to rescue him - he won't be singled out or doubled up on by the opposition because in a league with Yamal, nobody is worrying about Dolan embarrassing them.
  10. Yesterday
  11. If not, I'd be happy to take them off you - me and my little lad were planning on going, but not sorted tickets yet - cheers!
  12. It means your going to get f--king wet.😁
  13. It's classed as a dangerous weapon these days, a waterproof coat, and a bag of monster munchies.
  14. It's highly likely the match could be called off, a 70% chance of rain all morning, and afternoon on Saturday.
  15. My reaction wouldn't be much different. Phil Jones can get to fuck.
  16. I don't think you should be allowed to host a Rovers podcast unless you know what a John Bull and a Tea Cake are.
  17. Great isn’t it . It’s forecasted to piss down on Saturday. My grandson is coming on the train from Liverpool to meet up with me at the station in town. He’d like to bring a few things with him, like maybe a waterproof coat in his rucksack etc. Not everybody lives around the corner or can drive right to the ground. People coming from a fair way off by public transport need to be able to bring something with them. Just another reason not to bother.
  18. And his natural skill He'll no doubt now be playing with a few players who are at the same skill level or above so no need to be flashy and show off in that environment. If he sticks to the basics then he'll be very good. His work rate was always 100% and I'm happy to see him doing well. He's got to where he has by working hard and never giving up despite being let go by City as a youngster, getting let go by Preston (ha) and not being given a serious offer from Rovers where he'd established himself as a first team player at the age of 23. As Tomphil said, as long as he doesn't end up playing for the clampits then I wish him the best.
  19. I'm not especially well travelled, but I don't think he's having much to do with saloons currently
  20. And don't you dare bring a bag of monster munch either - that'll be seized and you'll face a 3 year ban
  21. Wish him all the best, always tried his hardest, his temperament was never in doubt. I never understood the vitriol towards him. I wonder if those who used to say , if he wants to go I'll drive him there myself, realised it would be to the Bernabeu rather than Barnsley.
  22. Maybe he thought “ I’m now drinking in the Last Chance Saloon, maybe I better get my finger out “ ?
  23. It sounds like anybody hoping to carry a waterproof coat in their bag just in case is going to be out of luck given the new policy.
  24. Let's hope it's not a Norwich omen, they beat us in the last home match.
  25. The WATR AGM was on the 25th June. 3 or 4 days later a welcome communication came out saying the officers had changed. Nothing has been heard of WATR since. Is WATR and the Coalition still active and operating please?
