  1. Past hour
  2. Saxton was early to mid 1980's - things had calmed down a lot by then!
  3. 'Saxton Out' chants by a hundred or so on Nuttall St was as volatile as I can remember.
  4. Extracts from 'Ewood Park The Cradle of English Football' - those around at the time will recognise some of this, particularly the late 60's and early 70's: Edit @jim mk2has beaten me to it and provided the link in above post.
  5. There was talk of Leonard going on loan was there not? So I didn't include him in the 19, but if he is our 3rd choice striker then yeah he'll take a spot. Likewise if Garrett is kept around, I could see Gestede registering him just so he has an excuse not to sign a replacement..
  6. On NDAs If your break one, what is the come back? Financial? If you break one say because you know you are dying (sorry to be morbid) can any penalisation be passed to your family? What is to stop someone with an NDA using mouthpieces to get the story out -too traceable?
  7. Sir Alex said the agent connected with the club, couldn't pick his nose. Sir Alex Ferguson reveals agents' outrageous demands to United | Alex Ferguson | The Guardian
  8. Rovers fans were attacking opposition players on the pitch in 1926 https://ewoodpark.jimdofree.com/blackburn-has-no-lads-from-the-terraces-crowd-trouble-blackburn-youth-elders/ Mercer and I were there πŸ˜€
  9. So there does appear to be a great deal of circumstantial (maybe more?) evidence (and this has been around for a long time now) that the teller of fairy stories who has problems with nose picking according to some still has fingers in the pie. All allegedly of course. Could it be that this person and associates have far too much dirt on both the Raos and the EFL that they would not like to come to light, that an β€˜understanding’ is in place – we won’t shed any embarrassing light on matters if the revolving door of players is maintained? If this is the case, it begs the question, how long will it continue –how long will this plodding along last? Until one or more of the actors is no longer with us? Until, it is so long the EFL wouldn’t be embarrassed? All allegedly and imho of course.
  10. Not always the case! Not sure how old you are and how far you go back. Rovers' fans had a notorious reputation in the 1960's and to a lesser degree early 1970's.
  11. I can remember supporters on the pitch chanting in support of John Pickering when we had been relegated FFS.
  12. Today
  13. Has a really familiar look to it, wonder what these guys need Morcambe FC for really. A marketing tool or money pit ?
  14. "Eusty....I still call him Gaffer!" Then I just turned off the radio...
  15. I can vividly remember standing on Nuttall Street with a few hundred other chanting 'sack the board' in the 70's but I honestly don't remember any pitch invasions of the protest variety.
  16. Ismael is already confirming what a poor appointment he was At this rate we'll be down by Christmas!
  17. The owners are so far away from the firing line it's difficult to believe anything will work. They couldn't care less if the fans cheer or boo it seems.
  18. Presume they mean the Iley era and other grumbles against Bancroft et al... not exactly the first scene of Gladiator, was it.
  19. Yep, if the NFL about to implode? Of course not, and neither is the Premier League... what future the wider pyramid has is another issue.
  20. When did thousands of our fans take to the Pitch in Protest Jim?....cant remember in my lifetime tbh. We have one of THE most laid back and Apathetic Fanbases in Football.
  21. There's clearly no intention to sell or to get us back to the PL. Those who believe that they are keeping us with a view to getting back to the PL to recover their investment I think are deluded. The only calculations they need to be thinking about are whether they want another 10 years of funding a Championship / League One club to the tune of Β£10 million+ a year, ultimately costing them a further Β£100 million or more on top of what it has already cost, or whether they are better putting a stop to it now, stopping the drain of money and handing it over for a nominal amount to someone willing to try and better the club.
  22. Good luck and I wish them well; all I'm saying is that in 15 years the club is a continuing state of chaos and decline and nothing has worked. In my opinion the latest softly softly approach is likely to end the same way. Workers don't want to go on strike but sometimes they are forced into a corner and have no other choice and have to take direct action. This is where we are now - in my opinion
  23. Exactly. There's huge untapped foreign markets to go at yet. See what the Spanish and Italians are doing; league games being played overseas. It'll be the same here eventually.
  24. It is simple enough to get it out on social media the connections and ask "Is this pure coincidence, or the reason the owners deny having had any queries as to the availability of the club"? The links are above, for anyone who wants to use them and as Jimmy Cricket once said "And there's more".
