  1. Past hour
  2. 4-0 down after 42 minutes…
  3. I haven’t bought the book but is it true that Jack Walkers name does not feature but the Venkys name does?
  4. Well that's me tuning out, New regime off to a flyer, 3-0 down after 10 minutes, at home against a side that was bottom of the league with 1 point before today. Every time Kahn starts, he seems to concede a bagful
  5. Depends... normally if we're losing then it's down early to top up alcohol levels. If we're winning by half time I stay out because I can't quite believe it 😆
  6. He doesn’t fit “the model”. He’s never been relegated to some European pub league.
  7. Is that a positive or a negative?
  8. The criteria for "legend" appears to be "played for us at least a handful of times in any capacity, irrespective of talent or success".
  9. Yea not blaming the staff mate, they can only go as fast as the pump. Just the organisation of it all need more pulling pints and more serving
  10. This does assume competency and common sense though, which may not be in especially high supply at Ewood these days.
  11. No chance of relegation is so far wide of the mark for a team sitting a few points above it this early into the season. The three wins weren't a fluke and showed there's a blueprint to success, but as we've seen with Hedges playing CB, we're very flimsy when it comes to depth. Our first 11 stays up, pretty comfortably. Having to start Gueye, Tavares, Foreshaw, Tyjon... big, big trouble.
  12. Hmm, might have been more prudent to call it a Classic Rovers XI or something. Not as marketable but closer to the truth. I mean, granted, who could forget Gordon Greer helping to steer us into League 1 in his only season at the club? Fond memories of a true club legend there. Kilgallon's average of 20 games a season as we slowly got worse in each of his three seasons here, definitely the stuff of legend. Tommy Spurr's classic 6 or 7/10 steady performances every match, unforgettable. I appreciate it would be impossible to get a "legend" in every position, but that's arguably not even 50% overall that would come close to the basic definition.
  13. Never let anyone tell you we need the Venky dollar, “we’ll got bust without them”….. VENKYS OUT - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
  14. Like many I use to go down for a drink/pie at HT but not now due to missing the start of second half. Can't blame the kids providing the service, they are learning how this is done. But I can't see anyone there doing the teaching.
  15. Isn't that a breach of health and safety legislation? Surely someone on here has some good understanding of this stuff.
  16. You are right and no, the owners have no interest in investing properly. I think we can be clear on that after 15 years of the same question being asked again and again.
  17. Too many Shirts and not enough pies 😄😄 @Herbie6590 Feel free to use this as the next pod title. I will take credit 😄😄😆😆
  18. Today
  19. The latest little insights from the Ewood Express this time around: More comments than usual of: "They're soooooo bad!". What is the point of trying to attract fans if they watch us play rubbish? Of course they won't give up the glory hunting if watching that dross is the alternative. The legends game afterwards was actually more entertaining for them. They couldn't distinguish current Rovers players from old ones as they had never heard of any of them (several asked me if Shearer would play as they know him from TV) so they enjoyed seeing us create and score more. The 45 minute wait between games was taking the piss for primary school children after getting bored in the first game. THE BIG ONE in terms of a shambles: No running water i.e. no flushing toilets or running taps for hundreds of little germ factories. The club couldn't even provide basic sanitation in our own stadium. Ludicrous...
  20. No Carter involvement. Another baffling decision from Mr Aloof. Good to see Litherland on the bench though.
  21. Just my opinion but I feel we are back to the early days of their ownership.
  22. Pratt is left footed, so may be seen by Ismael as a more natural fit as cover for an injured Wharton than Atcheson & Litherland who are both right footed. He is also a couple of years older than them and probably physically stronger than them too. He did miss a large chunk of the previous 2 seasons with injury which is probably why he hasn't progressed beyond a loan at Chorley so far in his career Atcheson & Litherland both probably have higher ceilings than Pratt & are both much better on the ball than him, especially Litherland, although as was mentioned earlier Litherland is currently injured anyway Edit - Litherland on the bench this evening for U21s - score/update (Owen Beck starts for Derby)
  23. Doesn't encourage anyone to buy them though, especially if their wage is quite high. It would make infinitely more sense to play them, have them do well, then sell to the first semi-reasonable bid, if that was the strategy. Like has happened with a bunch of our other players we weren't willing to sign to new deals (Hyam, Travis, Brittain etc). Not sure I buy that it's this.
  24. Believed to be on a basic of £15k per week so being positioned towards the exit door. It's gone on for years where players are not selected to encourage them to move.
  25. Latest episode of The Sportsman looks at Rovers in-depth in Part 2 with me offering some nonsense…👀
  26. When Todd is sold on January 1st I will definitely hear “if you look at the Southampton, Leicester and Bristol game we are very competitive without Todd. I think we will be fine” from Valerien.
  27. If he doesn’t want us to look at any free signings I don’t want to see him complaining about injuries.
