  1. Past hour
  2. I'm as critical as anyone over the bastards running our club but I've always maintained that money doesn't always guarantee you much in the championship unless you're spending mega like the yo-yo clubs. The rest of us have to try to do smart business. I'm not saying De Neve will be one of those but the price paid for a player doesn't always equate to success. Take Gallagher for example he cost 5 million and Ohashi for 100k did better numbers. Don't get me wrong, by the sounds of it, he'll probably be shit.
  3. Which jumped to ยฃ22m, and then to ยฃ25m in those interviews a few months back.
  4. A "significant investment", no doubt
  5. I remain convinced that the stooges have had Travis on the list for sales for the last couple of years. Despite attempts to suggest that his plan to Ipswich was all the fault of big bad JDT I think this is too good and convenient to be true. I suspect he was instructed to offload the bigger earners and go younger and cheaper. Unfortunately the Ipswich plan only worked temporarily by getting his wages off the books for 5 months, with their promotion they dropped any interest in signing him permanently. Then Eustace obviously wanted him back to build his team around him and other senior pros like Batth, Weimann etc. Not good. Anyhow fast forward a year and they can return to plan A with a more compliant and willing manager who won't threaten to walk out. Cash in, wages off the books and cheaper replacement the only name of this game.
  6. Think it's 4. People defend our slowness saying that "well none of there signings would get in our team anyway" but that misses the point, they have sorted there squad out early with what they need. We'll still be messing about long into August because we are uncapable of getting deals done unless it's for someone that nobody else would even look at.
  7. We're never gonna be competitive with this shite preston already signed 5 (don't quote me on it though lad from work said they had)
  8. Good article on Rovers spending under Venkys. https://footballeconomyv2.blogspot.com/2025/06/just-what-do-venkys-get-out-of-owning.html
  9. To be fair if Hedges had pace , end product , goals and a right foot heโ€™d be half decent ๐Ÿ˜‚
  10. Today
  11. Just waiting for the classic "give him a chance---- FFS"!
  12. Twat with a tele! ๐Ÿ˜€
  13. Thank you. As a long term non-attender I donโ€™t really feel able to contribute to discussions on whether player a b or c would improve us etc. I wonโ€™t always get everything right when trying to help on this thread but I do hope what I do share is at least of some use and interest to others on here.
  14. We need pace. It will give us options when we need to alter things during games. That alone will free up space for his teammates whenever De Neve is on the pitch. Anyone remember Reda Khadra?
  15. Plus Travis is from the Ormskirk area, possibly still lives around there so Wrexham isn't far away it's a no brainer for him if they are serious. More serious is the fact these shithouses haven't bothered offering their captain, long serving player and academy graduate anything when this situation first reared its head over a year ago.
  16. But they've now become the 'marquee' signings because they cost a few hundred grand.
  17. Thanks wilsdenrover and IraC for your efforts and patience in searching through documents to keep us updated. There is plenty of debate about the potential signing of a player nobody has heard of but this topic is far more important for the future of Rovers.
  18. De Neve sounds like cheap squad filler material
  19. Globally famous club, celebrity owners who are rich and more than willing to spend both on facilities and players, with a clear goal at reaching the premier league within the next few years. Wrexham are a million miles ahead of us at the minute for any player worth their salt. A complete tragedy of our own making thanks to Venkys. I wish some US investors would buy us to try restore us to where we belong, founding members of EFL and EPL, and historically one of the oldest and most successful clubs in England.
  20. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25225237.expert-reveals-blackburn-will-get-dion-de-neve/ This isnt the most positive. Seems to have surprised the locals who expected him to stay in the Belgian second division. Doesnt score, doesnt assist, poor end product, hasnt really developed and inferior to Bocat who Stoke signed and has struggled.
  21. Yea they've definitely raised their profile and becoming an attractive club to play for at that level which fair play to them is looking to be a better outfit than ours
  22. Agreed - Wrexham have ambition, glamour and the opportunity for the players to hugely raise their profile to help their football and post football careers. I imagine many players would take moderately less money to play there.
