Seems to be much better news on Toth, hopefully back in a month 😄 https://x.com/RoversXtra/status/1988335418648211932?s=20

Whatever the reason its poor do. Pickering should have played last Saturday and is clearly being frozen out. Probably because we can get a decent fee with which we can buy 2 or 3 players with it from Luxemburg and St Helena.

You know what has struck me about the celebrations and all the hype around the players coming back? To my knowledge, nobody has spoken out against the regime. You listen to the interviews, all the warm words, but nobody hammering the owners. Is it more important to have a few free tickets a season, than to protect this club and its fans? So disappointing, an opportunity missed. -

Selling Hyam without a replacement when the remaining centre halves are highly injury prone shows that this is not a serious football club (not that we needed reminding). -
Olson on as an 11th minute substitute.

In an ideal world we’d be able to manage Wharton (and Carters) game time. I mean if we had a reliable centre half who played pretty much every game we could accommodate that as well. Hang on a minute, we DID have one of them didn’t we! Flogged him and now in a position where that’s out the window and now when Carter is fit he’ll be needed every game, till he’s injured again, which usually doesn’t take very long. Onto Preston and I think their current league position flatters them, they haven’t looked particularly good when I’ve seen them and owe a lot to their keeper. Although he dropped a massive bollock at weekend too. Our injuries sadly make it a lot trickier than it could have been but I don’t think it’s the walkover for them most on here are predicting. -

That doesn't fill me with any confidence - exactly the opposite in fact.

Goddard is injured (or was in September, and hasn't played since) "Elsewhere, Felix Goddard is set to be sidelined due to injury"
-
Maybe, it would be another strange one though as usually a new contract would reset appearances essentially...ie it would be when you make 150 appearances after signing the contract.

Can't admit to having listened to her before, but this Charli xcx - John Cale collaboration is really something quite extraordinary..

If they don't get promoted then we'll be playing them next season. That would be a pointless sideways move for them, they're probably already on more money than what we'd be offering. -

Good appointment on paper, has vast experience and has worked at some big clubs. Something that hasn't been been mentioned so far, is that Vignal is part of the HSH stable. HSH, the same agency who represented Coyle, Lambert, Mowbray and others over the past decade plus. I know it doesn't guarantee success on the pitch, but I'm quite optimistic as they have always had a reasonable talent pool. Coyle aside, of course. We could do with Ravanelli up top! He'd still be better than Makhtar and Gudjohnsen, even now, aged 56! Any chance, Craig? I vaguely recall somebody sharing a rumour on here a couple of years ago about Mike Sheron being the cousin of Dave Sheron (HSH). I could be wrong on that one, though. Point being, HSH, have some bloody good 'uns. Anyway, Mike leaves after a good ten year spell here and Vignal looks like he could be a steady replacement based on his CV. Hopefully he can settle in soon and do a similar job to what Mike did. We desperately need these players to come through from a business point of view. I also like that he took the time to speak to Kenny about the club beforehand. For once, I will give him some credit as he is the head honcho. Well done, Suhail. You have a a heck of a lot more to do yet though to turn this club around. The first team is the be all and end all. Never forget. Sort it out!
-
Pure speculation on my part but he is approaching 150 appearances for the club perhaps there is an element of avoiding paying an appearance bonus at play.
-
Would have to go some to compensate for the loss of the Championship TV deal, plus substantial ticket money, plus loss of sponsorship etc.
-
Wasn't £10K/per week the ceiling when we were under embargo in Gary Bowyer's time around ten years ago. What you could get for that ten years ago vastly exceeds what you can get now.
-
If it is the £10K/week mark, then its well above top end of League 1 level, which isn't much more than half of that (not including teams like Birmingham last season etc), however it is on the same sort of level as Huddersfield, Rotherham and Plymouth when they were last in the Championship - note they all went down with that level of wage budget No doubt if and when relegation occurs, they will again cut their cloth "accordingly"
-
They’re far more interested in trimming the wage budget so they look good to Venky’s, than a higher league position. The enemy of Rovers, those tossers.

To be honest, very much doubt they have either element! When the going gets tough, we will really need the 'Labore' element - wouldn't fancy being in the trenches with too many of ours! -
Is our new arbitrary wage cap League 1 or League 2 level do we think? Might give an indicator where Suhail wants us to reach...
