2025 Summer Transfer Thread. ๐

Interesting take. Thanks. My post was based (with only three or four days to go before the new season) about what would be the situation if we brought in another midfielder and defender without selling anyone, we'd temporarily have no space left in the squad for a winger or striker. To me we desperately need one or preferably two strikers and a right winger. I'd be bringing those players in first before piling players on top of more players in other areas. Your post assumes we'll be able to easily offload Travis, Leonard, Pears and Buckley. I'd imagine Clubs would be queueing up to buy Travis if we gave them any encouragement but it might not be so easy to shift the other three. Your theoretical squad actually looks quite a bit better than what we have currently but I'd say it's still massively imbalanced - potentially ten midfielders but only two strikers plus either Leonard or A.N. Other if we did manage to bring someone in. And of course all loans have to be registered so if we fill up the squad with more defenders and midfielders we still can't go down the loan route to bring strikers in without selling first. Unless they're under 21 which probably wouldn't be any upgrade on Leonard. -
My issue is the unprofessional outburst and aggressive nature of some of the club officials. They went to a place where they lost total control of their emotions and lashed out stating things they now clearly regret. We were just a panel of supporters giving our free time. I can't accept a retraction or minutes which state things which were never said or edits to change what was said , which in turn then make the published answer a lie and complete fabrication of the truth. Thankfully it appears particularly supporter group leads are all of the same opinion and are also rejecting on this basis

They would have to scan his whole body to check for damages in his digestive system. Also all joints in his body as they can be effected also. Thereโs plenty of issues that can go wrong with crohns. My first thought would be they are waiting on results pending delay in announcement -

Didn't Elliott Jackson say today that we are NOT signing Baradji at the moment? We cant. Not enough ESC slots. -
The Consultation Meetings used to be recorded / broadcast on the radio so that everyone could directly hear what was said by the club. By comparison this nonsense over minutes is absolutely outrageous given it is the only way fans can find out about how the club is being run. If the joke that is the EFL had any interest or backbone they would not be accepting this arrangement as being compliant with their regulations on supporter communication/consultation.

We are signing both according to Jackson and Nixon. Jackson said in his podcast signing a right winger is a priority now. Nixon said the player is experience and play overseas. - Today

The medical should be extra thorough considering his condition. -
Over the last few years we've definitely had the players to see us promoted, but never at the same time! The best were always sold from under us and we've had to start again---multiple times. Its soul-destroying and ,eventually club-destroying.

Probably one of the finest posts I've read on here. Could have included a Swede to the theme if only a medical wasn't taking 3 days -

To sum up where our club stand at the minute as if we are a local pub eatery with decent food & the plan and if you were a customer would you keep going to the local and trusting the plan? the brewery get into legal trouble so canโt fund the pub, an ambitious danish head chef leaves because heโs told by the pub manager he canโt choose the ingredients or the menu any more and has to get cheaper ingredients and equipment despite adding some danish flair we sell our nice oven to a London pub for a price that keeps the bills paid for a month and bring in an ambitious chef who wants to buy nice ingredients, launch a new menu and the pub manager starts to see results, but worries about the margins - changes his order at the wholesalers for cheaper ingredients without telling the chef despite promising him the ability to craft his menu his wayโฆ invariably he walks out and joins a worse pub down the road but starts to take his sous chef and pot washer and front of house with him the long standing bar manager takes over in the kitchen, gets some results and is eschewed aside for an out of work French chef whoโs last few kitchens have failed hygiene standards .. but he comes in and tries hard after a rocky start and agrees to buy unknown weird ingredients and work with the microwave he starts building a menu bringing in foreign untried ding ding meals on the hope the locals will like them the pub raise prices meanwhile without doing any decor or refurbishment in the establishment and the place starts to look and feel tacky the new menu launches with a load of unknown dishes from the microwave as the oven, the grill and the sous chef all gone to pay bills the locals ask for feedback at a village meeting and the minutes keep getting delayed as the pub manager wants to hide the shambles behind the scenes whilst advertising their exciting new microwave menu and watered down pints of fosters -

Canโt agree with this at all to have a plan you need the futures of your players sorted to move forward as that isnโt the case currently with hyam tronstad and club captain Travis we donโt have much of a plan. We will continue to make signings based on need not an actual โplanโ a plan would be get the contracts sorted build a team around them so we know what we will have for the next 2/3 years but we donโt know that -

Plan here ? It's about time you held your hand up and admitted the ONLY plan here is we have to sell players and let players who want better contracts go in order to pay the bills. That's it there is no other plan than that it's about keeping the lights on. The same can't be said of Derby who no doubt sold Eustace a project of building year on year for promotion and that's why he went there. -

If we didn't a plan we wouldn't be making signings after signings that Ismael wants. We must had a plan to replace Brittain and who are targets were But to be honest your post and comments is zero surprised. -

I disagree. I think we would have been relatively pleased given the circumstances. If we put it down in writing, this is what Derby's activity would have looked like for us, had we carried it out. Eustace stays as manager, plus: Batth and Weimann sign new deals. Sanderson and Beck return to us on loan for another year. Ozoh and Clark sign on loan. Brewster and Carlton Morris sign permanently. Agyemang signs for a big fee. Excitement and intrigue around him. Attacking options of Ohashi, Gueye, Brewster, Morris and Agyemang would give us real bite at this level. Even if we were to let Gueye leave, for example, we'd still have plenty of goal threat. Add Weimann to that too, despite his age. What we have at present isn't worth writing home about. Eustace would still be manager. Our best defender, Batth, would still be here. Our organised defensive structure would still be here. Add in all of the above and there would be some optimism about the season ahead. As it is, we are taking punts on cheap, unknowns. It's a hit and hope policy. These new lads might turn out to be good, but there's no way we can look at De Neve, Tavares and Co right now and claim our signings are better than club x, y and z and that we'd prefer these over certain other club's signings. -
