  1. Past hour
  2. I can only conclude this was always a calculated misdirection based on the literal meaning. Of course they don't refuse to sign a cheque, because they realistically would never be asked to.
  3. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6366991/2025/05/20/blackburn-rovers-women-team-relegated/ Getting worldwide attention
  4. you can only keep treading water, football wise, for so long, eventually the descent down the leagues will happen,it`s only the good luck of appointing 3 decent managers that`s kept us in the division, two of whom legged it when they saw the medium term situation before them
  5. Can I just check, do Venkys still 'never refuse to sign a cheque' or have we given up on that one at last?
  6. It’s so easy to go down divisions in sport, yet brutally hard to go back upwards. Rovers Women’s team have gone back a generation today. No matter what you think of women’s football, it’s a bad look and a narrow minded, short term decision. Another tremendously embarrassing day for our once proud football club.
  7. Get back from Ewood on Saturday night 1979:
  8. Halfway up the PL when they took over. As others have said they’ve either cut, or tried to cut every asset of the club. Someone tell me what hasn’t been cut? No money available for anything. No ambition. No honesty about anything whatsoever. There’s only one possible worse situation that I can think of. Liquidation.
  9. Managed to get a dig at the fans in there… ‘Regrettably, despite all Rovers Women’s league fixtures being played at Ewood Park last season for the first time, there was no noticeable upturn in home attendances, resulting in the absence of the substantial matchday commercial revenue and sponsorships required to support continued investment at Tier 2’
  10. The 'current model' being bleed the club dry of all assets, cut costs and reinvest nothing. Absolutely shameful.
  11. But, but it’s the fans fault, not the lying bastards who run and own the club. That has never been the case. You are mistaken about that.🤔
  12. Great post! This all begs the ultimate question ‘why bother owning a football club in the first place?’. Roundly hated by all and disinterested in football/the club/the town. It makes no sense.
  13. Today
  14. Never refuse to sign a cheque. Venkys out.
  15. sick of the happy clappers on twitter defending the decision
  16. Don't remember this chapter in Shakespeare 😂
  17. Also, I will add, as I fear they may get lost slightly amongst the rightful onslaught that hopefully comes the Club's way, my thoughts are with the Women's players and backroom staff who have just been utterly shafted by the bastards who run our once fine and proud Football Club. The days these fuckers no longer darken our door should be celebrated more vociferously than May 1995.
  18. An out and out disgrace but entirely within character for this absolute shit bag two bit brainless untalented feckless piss pot amateurish nouveau richest ham-fisted uncaring unloved ownership We've laboured under for almost fifteen years. I wish a pox on them, their wives, their kids, I hope they shit pineapples every day for the rest of their no good oxygen draining lives. I hope their long dead ancestors return from their graves and shit in their dinner. How much longer must we endure this agony
  19. Quote from the Rovers News release - This decision follows a comprehensive review of the evolving demands placed on second tier clubs, which have become unsustainable under our current model... Presumably this means 'Run by utter gobshites?'
  20. Absolutely vile from the club. Further shame heaped on our once good name.
  21. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c9wgg8y881lo BBC article shedding more light on how poorly they've been treated. Meetings postponed yesterday and earlier today before they were finally told in the afternoon.
  22. Maybe it's just me but it's hard to consider a club "competitive" as a fan or a player if they have just chosen to be relegated. Who would want to be part of a team that could never be promoted because they don't want to invest in success?
  23. ‘Only have 8,000 ST holders, good thing the club transitions away from a Cat 1 academy as it costs £2million’.
